Divine Healing

Divine Healing

1) An adventure offers a challenge, an exciting undertaking.

2) Seek healing for the mind, body and spirit.

3) If you really have faith you will thank God before you see the results.

4) To be divinely healed means to surrender to God.

5) If the church provides a real climate of faith, its touch will have its ancient power!

6) At no time did Jesus or His disciples pray a prayer of, “If it be thy will” in connection with healing. This clause in the garden of Gethsemane was not a prayer of healing. It was quite clearly a prayer of guidance and commitment.

Various ways Jesus healed people

1) By His spoken word and touch in response to the faith of the patient (Matt 18:1-4).

2) By faith the patient touching the “hem of His garments” (Luke 8:43-48).

3) By the removal of the block of guilt [i.e. by the forgiveness of sins] (John 5:1-15).

4) By rebuking the disease (Luke 4:38-41).

5) By His great compassion (Luke 7:11-17).

6) By evoking expectancy and obedience in the sufferers (Luke 17:11-19). Only one man received the highest healing- whereas apparently the others got well only physically- because thanksgiving released in him the healing of spirit, soul and mind as well as the body.

7) By using outward signs (Mark 8:22-26).

8) By using the willingness and His own deep prayers (Mark 9:14-29).

9) By using the faith of others, other than the sick (Luke 5:17-26).

10) By using the faith of His disciples and casting out unbelievers (Luke 8:41-42, 49-56).

11) By using the faith of others inspite of distance (Luke 7:2-10).

Healing through doctors

Although doctors can prescribe and apply remedies, although they can cut away diseased tissues and graft in new ones, although they can set bones and apply casts- Only God can heal!

1) God’s promises are life to those that find them, and health to all their flesh (Prov 4:22).

2) The poor in spirit (Matt 5:3) will receive it.

3) I will take sickness away from you. The number of your days I will fulfill (Exod 23:25-26).

4) I am the Lord who heals you (or) I am the Lord your physician (Exod 15:26).

5) If you are sick, God wants to heal you. Until you are fully convinced that God wants you to be well, there will always be a doubt in your mind as to whether or not you will be healed. As long as there is doubt in your mind, perfect faith cannot exist; and until faith is exercised with out doubt or wavering you may never be healed.

  1. Heb 11:6; James 1:6-7
  2. Num 23:19;1 Kings 8:56;Ps 119:89
  3. Jeremiah 1:12 => Hasten means “to watch over”, “to look after”, “to protect” or "to stand behind.”

6) God is standing behind His word to accomplish it.

7) In Exod 15:26, He spoke to about 3 million people (Exod 12:37). Every one of them believed God’s word were true.
The result: Every one of them who needed healing was made perfectly whole.

8) We are told: He [God] brought them [Israelites] forth…and there was not one feeble person among their tribes (Ps 105:37).

9) If that was true in Israel under the law, it is much truer for you, who have been redeemed by the blood of God’s Lamb and are living under grace, mercy and truth.

10) Healing is for you-all may be healed. God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34). If God will heal anyone, He will heal you.

Healing for all

1) Testament means a person’s will. Jesus is not only the testator who died; but He was resurrected and is also the mediator of the will (Heb 9:15; 12:24).

2) He is our advocate (1 John 2:1-2).

3) By healing every one Jesus has revealed, it is our Father’s will to heal every one (Heb 10:7; John 6:38).

4) If healing is not for every one, how could we pray the prayer of faith?

5) Only once a man asked “If it be your will?”, immediately Jesus corrected his wrong understanding about God’s will and said “I Will…” (Mark 1:41).

6) He is not wiling that any should perish (2 Peter 3:9). Is any sick among you? (Jam 5:14). Any includes you if you are sick.

7) Of those who were bitten by the fiery serpents, the Bible says that “as many looked to the brazen serpent lived” (Num 21:9). Even now as many as look to Christ as redeemer are saved- are healed.

8) The words whoever and whoever will are always used to invite the unconverted to be saved.

9) The words as many as, everyone, all and any are used to invite the sick and the diseased to be healed. Both invitations are always universal, and the results are always positively promised: Shall be saved; shall have life; shall recover; shall raise them up; healed them all and as many as touched Him were healed (Heb 13:8; Matt 12:15; 14:36; Luke 6:19; Matt 8:16-17).

10) You are included in the our of Matt 8:17, and God is bound by His covenant to continue to heal all who are sick and weak, in order to fulfill Isaiah’s words (Ps 89:34; Luke 4:40).

11) Healing is for all in those days, and Christ the Healer has never changed.

12) Healing is for all and should be preached to all.

13) Acts 8:6-8. Jesus proved to be exactly the same when Philip told the people about Him.

14) Peter preached Christ to the cripple (Acts 3:6), to the multitude (Acts 5:14-16), to Aeneas (Acts 9:34). All were healed. Jesus was same for Peter.

15) Whenever and wherever Jesus Christ is proclaimed as our sacrifice for sin and sickness, physical healing as well as Spiritual salvation will result.

16) Paul preached Christ (Acts 14:8-10). Paul must have preached the gospel of healing, because the lame man received faith to be healed while listening to Paul’s message.

17) Healing is part of the Gospel and is to be preached throughout all the world and to every creature, to the end of the world (Mark 16:15; Matt 28:20).

18) Jesus showed us God by what He did for others. We show our faith by what we do for others.

19) We show what God is like in our lives by what happens to people who come in contact with us.

20) You learn by teaching. You gain by giving. You reap by planting. You receive by giving.

21) Miracles prove that Christ is alive [Only God knows our depth of our search. We were sincere in our love for Christ. We believed in the power of the Holy Spirit. As a pastor-evangelist, we were in a desperate search for reality.].

22) Osborn's said to the Lord with a hungry heart, soul, mind and body, "Lord I need an encounter, thank you, you are going to give it, I need to meet you in person." –T.L.& Daisy Osborn. We made a pact between us and God that we would read the New Testament, especially the gospels and the acts of the apostles, as though we have never read them before.

23) Everything Jesus said He would do, we would expect Him to do it.

24) Everything He said for us to do in His name, we would do it.

25) Disciples? –John 8:31

a. Luke 10:8-9; Matt 10:1; Luke 9:1. Those followers used and obeyed (Luke 9:6).

b. Jesus said, “Fear not; believe only.” (Luke 8:50).

26) When He [Jesus] speaks through His word, that is His voice.

The Great Ministry of Healing Faith [Excerpts taken from Bro. T.L.Osborn’s Book ‘Healing the sick’]

Need exists throughout the world for this great ministry of healing faith. This is your day, go for it! We began to send advertisements near and far, telling the people to bring their sick, diseased, crippled, blind, deaf and dumb.

We began to teach the promises of Christ to heal, to save and to deliver all who had needs, and to pray for the sick and to cast out devils. Needless to say, God began to immediately to confirm His word which we proclaimed, with miracles, because we had simply taken Him at His word. We had begun to act on the word. If God said it, then it was so. If God promised to do it, then He would do it.

We had discovered Jesus At Work In Us.

Jesus said, “Any one who has seen me has seen the Father” (John 14:9). Later He said, “As My Father has sent Me, so I send you.” (John 20:21) and promised, “Lo, Iam with you” (Matt 28:20); I will dwell in you and walk in you (2 Cor 6:16).

Jesus came and showed the Father to the world. Now we show Jesus to the world. He is at work in the believer. We are His Body. He is our life. He continues His ministry in and through us. We saw Jesus alive and at work IN US. What we have seen our Lord accomplish in the past is an example of what He yearns to do in every nation under Heaven.

Our Gospel is for All Nations

One of the most challenging statements in the Bible concerning the last days is in Matthew 24:14
. Jesus said: And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. More literally rendered from the original text, He said: This good news shall be proclaimed with evidence to all nations of the world, then shall the end come.

This prophecy from the lips of Jesus Christ foretells a great era of flaming miracle evangelism that proclaims Christ as Lord, with evidence, to this generation. It indicates a world-wide demonstration of early church methods in which God also
[is] bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with diverse miracles and gifts of the Holy Ghost (Heb 2:4; Acts 8:6)
.

The masses will gladly follow Christ if they can see Him confirm His word with signs and miracles. People are ready and are glad to serve the God of Miracles.

Paul repeatedly attributed the success of his ministry to the fact that God always confirmed His message with miracles
(Heb 2:3-4; Rom 15:18-19)
.

The masses all over the world are waiting for the Church to return to her knees in fasting and prayer, asking God as the early Church did
(Acts 4:29-30)
.

  • 1 Cor 2:1-5; Mark 16:20;

Do whatever you could not do before, this is faith in action, so that you will come up on the platform and tell the multitudes about your miracle and show the people whatever God has done as a witness that Jesus is alive and unchanged.

The gospel is the power of God to every one that believes. Any person can turn any promise of God in to power equal to what it promises, whenever they will believe that promise and act on it.

The miracle power of God was present to heal. Truly God Heals!

[During the healing prayer she placed her hand on her blind eyes, then acted her faith. Her eyes popped open. It is a creative miracle, we are seeing Bible days again.]

  • John 9:3, 4 => The works of God weren’t made manifest in the blind man until Christ did that which He was sent to do- He healed the man’s blindness.
  • John 11:24-26, 40 => Martha hadn’t seen the glory of God, hadn’t been manifest yet. The glory was manifested in Lazarus’ resurrection and healing.
  • God is glorified through healing and deliverance; not through sickness and suffering. The work of hell isn’t even supposed to work in the Church that Jesus builds. It’s supposed to be thrown out by the leaders of the church. There’s supposed to be enough of God’s word going forth to demolish anything the devil tries to do to a Church member.

Jesus had all the gifts of healings operating through Him (Matt 8:16), He healed all kinds of disease.

You get what you believe. You have to recognize if a disease has been caused by a devil, or by natural things, or by your ignorance or neglect
[like getting wet and sitting in front of the air conditioners]
, it all depends on what caused it. Death is the enemy of God.

[I’ve got news for you!]

Believe God and stand on His word. That’s really the number one way to be healed: to find scriptures and just stand on them yourself. Just tell God that you believe it and stand on it.

The Spirit of God always wills to heal you. The gifts of healings, given out as the Spirit wills, manifests a lot of times when I am teaching the Bible.

I’ve Got news for you my brothers and sisters: Jesus is your Healer, He is you miracle worker.

You can be a Bible teacher, a Bible preacher, an evangelist, or anything you want, but if you don’t stand on God’s word for your own house, the Devil will come in and smite your family. You have to throw the Devil out. You have to get angry at the Devil and claim God’s power by faith.

Whenever I tell the miracle working power of God in my life, the Spirit of God just anoints and hovers over me.

You can believe for your own miracles. A miracle is a gift. The Spirit always wills to do miracles for Bible believer’s.

Paul declared “the whole counsel of God”.

  • Num 16:46-50 [Atonement was made for the removal of the plague of sin and sickness.]
  • Num 21:9- Galatians 3:13
  • Job 33:24, 25=> ransom [atonement].
  • Job’s flesh was healed through an atonement.

For you and me to Calvary

“borne” [nasa] Hebrew. [nasa and sabal] literally means “to lift up, to bear away, to convey (or) to remove to a distance”.

Levitical word applied to a scape goat
(Lev 16:22)
.

Christ lived the whole of the 31/2 years of His ministry or earthly life as an atoning life for others. Jesus borne our iniquities the minute He got baptized and carried it to the cross of Calvary.

Every form of sickness and disease known to man was included, and many of them even mentioned particularly in the
“curse of the law,” (Duet 28:15-62, and other Scriptures)
.

Now in
Galatians 3:13, we have the positive statement that “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us”. “God set forth Christ as propitiation [for us]” (Rom 3:25)
.

People will be healed while sitting in their seats listening to the gospel.

Some people say, ‘If healing is for all then we shall never die.’ He does not promise that we shall never die, but He says,
“I will take sickness away from the midst of thee…the number of thy days, I will fulfill.” (Ex 23:25, 26)
.

God’s gift of health

Ps 90:10; 102:24; 104:29; Eccl 7:17;

Jesus never said,
“I was or I will be but He always said I am.” (Heb 13:8)
.

Matt 9:35 – 10:1; Acts 10:38

The wisdom of the early Church

The early Church took Christ at His word and prayed unitedly for signs and wonders of healing until the place was shaken and many brought forth the sick in to the streets so that at least the shadow of the Apostle will touch them so that they can be healed. And all were healed (Acts 28:9; 5:16).

John 14:12, 13

Christ continues His healing ministry through [the Church]
His Body.

The unchangeable compassion of Jesus

Matt 14:14; Heb 10:21; 5:2.

Heb 2:17

1 Cor 11:31, 32 – Chastening come to save us from final judgment (Ps 25:10).

If sickness is God’s will for the Church, why does the Bible commands the believer to get prayed over by a Church elder?

Salvation – (All Inclusive)

The word soteria, which is the Greek word for salvation implies deliverance, preservation, healing, health, soundness and in the New Testament is applied sometimes to the soul and at other times to the body only.

The Greek word
‘sozo’ translated ‘saved,’ also means ‘healed.’, ‘made sound,’, ‘made whole’. In Rom 10:9, it is translated “saved,” and in Acts 14:9 the same word is translated “healed” in referring to the healing of the lame man from birth. Both Greek words for “salvation” and “saved” means both Spiritual and physical salvation; or in other words, Spiritual and physical healing.

1) Heb 10:34; 5:2 => The compassion of Jesus moves Him and His people to do something and as a result “they [will] all be healed every one” (Acts 5).

2) Here it was again, as our High priest in Heaven, that Jesus did exactly what He did before going away.

3) Deut 7:9, His covenant are given because of His mercies.

4) We must desire our health for God’s glory.

5) Rom 12:1, Therefore present your body to Him, if you want it Healed. It is not until after it becomes His property that He promises to repair it.

The apostle Paul in his letter to the Galatians tells us exactly how God works miracles. “He [God] that ministereth to you the Spirit [the Spirit is the miracle worker], and worketh miracles among you, doeth He it by the works of the law, or by the hearing [message] of faith? Even as Abraham believed God.” (Galatians 3:5).

The word bore implies substitution
[suffering for], not sympathy [suffering with]
. If Christ has borne our sickness, why should we bear them?
