Question: Is the harlot Jerusalem and the beast she is riding is Rome? The book of Revelation describes the fall of Babylon, literally, like a fiery mountain flung into the sea.
Babylon is a city from the stars. It was once part of the Kingdom of YHVH, but was taken by Satan during the rebellion.
It was once pure, but then became a harlot, a host of everything evil.
Babylon, the city, has not arrived yet on earth, but when it does, it, and it’s new religion, will be welcomed by most of the world with open arms. Those who study and practice the teachings of Christ will not be so easily fooled. What do you think about this?

Jerusalem is not the harlot but will become the capital of the 8th beast empire of the end time and thus it is called "the Great Babylon" and not "BABYLON THE GREAT" the mother of Harlots which is the Roman Catholic church (Rev 16:18-19; 17:5), see the context to which the above has been spoken. Religion is the harlot that the Beast of the one world government of Antichrist and his false prophet will destroy, the moment they are given the power to rule the world (Rev 13:4, 11-12). Because only when they hate and destroy it, then the false prophet can make the world to worship the image of Antichrist mandatory or else face martyrdom (Rev 17:16-17; 13:13-14, 15-18). Until the Abomination of Desolation takes place (Dan 11:31), this Mother of Harlots will ride the Beast of Antichrist through his saga of peace and safety and security through preventing climate change, and also preventing nuclear MAD-ness which is Mutually Assured Destruction of using the nuclear weapons to fight and annihilate one another among nations which will devastate the whole wide world for years to come and make it uninhabitable to every one else in the globe (Rev 17:3, 7).
There has never been a city in the heavens named as Babylon at all. Babylon in essence is a thought of influence, an attitude of heart from the world, it is essentially a rebellion of heart that values sin and lawlessness, and above all it is a idea of mind that wants to take the True God the Creator, out of the equation of all its existence. Babylon is the true home of antichrist system. A lot of what is being said as a city of Babylon in heaven of whose king is Satan, the Lucifer, is a myth, and is spoken in cults, fables and Babylonian astronomy from the time of ancient Mesopotamia. Astronomy began by serving the Babylonians not as a science but as a part of their religion. The Babylonians believed that the Universe was divided into six levels with three heavens, the topmost being a “heaven of stars” which the gods used to communicate with them.
Babylon, the ancient city in Mesopotamia as we have seen already, is known for its contributions to astrology and astronomy. The city's ancient scientists developed trigonometry, tracked Jupiter using mathematical models, and created time tracking methods that are still used today. Babylonian records are also used by modern astronomers to study changes in Earth's rotation.
Although the name “Babylon” is derived from the Akkadian word babilu meaning “gate of god” or "Gate of the Gods", given as Babylon in Greek. It is an evident counterfeit of God's eternal city. The opposition to the rule of God by world powers or the exile of God's people from the land of blessing, is conveyed properly through the metaphor of Babylon.
Thus in the actuality of the Biblical view point regarding it, Satan has been spoken as a king of Babylon symbolically and spiritually pulling strings behind the physical realm of the Babylonian earthly king who was the sole superpower of his time on the earth (Isa 14:3-11, 12-21).
The City of BABYLON of which the uninhabited ruins are still there which Saddam even tried to resurrect or revive back, but alas it still remains that way in the middle eastern nation of Iraq because of regional wars and divisions and above all the prophecies spoken towards it by God's prophets (Isa 13:19-20). But there is a Mystery Babylon which is signified and so does the mystery of it remains that way until the City of Rome will be no more (Rev 17:3, 18). In the end time, it will be between Jerusalem or Rome, Jews or Catholics, religion or relationship with Jesus, the earthly City of God or the city of Satan's deceit the Mystery Babylon, etc...will keep showing up again and again before the world. Babylon will be the headquarters of the one world religion, while Jerusalem will be the headquarters of the one world government. There we come to know, when given the power to rule the world by God to Antichrist (Rev 13:4-5; 17:15, 18), he will hate the harlot Mother of all Harlots from Rome, to be destroyed completely in the appointed hour (Rev 17:16).
Babel was the beginning of Babylon (Gen 10:8-9, 10). The Mother and Child cult which was established later after Nimrod, Semiramis and Tammuz. Actually the Idea of one world economic control of ((i.e.) "a City"), one world religious control of ("a Tower") and one world governmental control through ("a Name") was established there (Gen 11:4)... against the command of God to spread in all the world and multiply (Gen 1:28). So let us look into Bible and no further.... Satan's Idea of rebellion against God was the basis of Babylon. God divided the one language of the world to divide the land through many languages (Gen 11:1, 9), so that when nations get boundaries to defend themselves and get multiplied, at least some may seek the LORD to be saved and go to heaven to be with God, seeing the unstable nature of the present life in which we bring nothing and also cannot be able to take anything out of this earthly life (Acts 17:26, 27, 28).
The Bible calls city of Rome as "Babylon the Great" describes further as "that Great City" (Rev 14:8; 17:5, 9, 18; 18:10), further John the Revelator differentiates Jerusalem by calling it as "great Babylon" and describing it as "the Great City" (Rev 11:8; 16:19; Matt 5:35). This might be a minute difference but the need to understand it is so important, to actually comprehend the end time purpose of God (Gen 17:17). So for the Antichrist to stay at the top and rule the world, he has to destroy the one world religious harlot woman riding on the beast of the one world political government (Rev 17:7, 9). So Babylon the Great's end will be at the middle of the Daniel 70th Week, after which the duos of Antichrist and the False Prophet will start to take control of the world to seal every human on planet earth with the mark of the beast on their right hand or forehead (Rev 14:8-9), and will kill all the rest of the Tribulation saints who will not accept it (Rev 13:7-8, 9-10), without which no one in the world will be able to buy or sell anything and everything (Rev 13:17-18). But praise God, that at the end of the three and half years of the rule of Antichrist, Jesus and the Church will come to Jerusalem to defeat both the Antichrist and the False Prophet, and they will throw them in to the eternal lake of fire for their rebellion, blasphemy and wickedness against God and men to destroy the earth (Rev 19:20).
Just like "Babylon the Great" of Rome needs to go before the "great Babylon" of earthly Jerusalem can be established for the Antichrist to rule, the "great Babylon" of the political leadership of Antichrist from the earthly Jerusalem needs to go out, before the heavenly Jerusalem's rule from the new heaven and new earth through the Church and its King Jesus Christ can be established for a thousand years reign on this earth. Praise the Lord!
God has clearly identified Rome as the seven mountains on which the woman (the Catholic Religious church) sits (Rev 17:9), In the first three and half years of the Daniel's 70th week, "ten kings" will democratically rule the world among whom Antichrist will be just one, but will become a leader of the pack, who will subdue three others and take their place, other will automatically give their power with one mind and purpose for the Antichrist to rule the world (Rev 13:1-4; 17:12, 13; Dan 7:23, 24). Then the power shift happens and Antichrist will take over the world and rule it for three and half years of the Daniel's 2nd half of the 70th week (Rev 13:4-5).
In other words, the rise of the ten kings will precede the arrival of the Antichrist at the start of Daniel 70th week (Rev 17:11-12). However, during the midpoint of Tribulation, the death and resurrection of the Antichrist leads to the subdued killing of power of three of these kings. From that time, the world will be ruled by the Antichrist alone, with the seven remaining kings giving their power to the Antichrist (Rev 13:3, 5; Dan 7:24; 17:12, 17).
Thus in a crystal clear way, Rome was "that Great city" described as the religious woman of the one world religion of the end time, that will be carried by the beast of the one world government, which will hate the harlot halfway and make her desolate and naked , eat her flesh and burn her with fire (Rev 17:16-18). The great city Babylon in today's world which was described nearly two thousand years ago itself, is the Vatican that stands in Rome (Rev 18:1-24). Hallelujah!
