It is finished and He is alive!

Do you realize ‘It is Finished’

By Abraham Israel

“28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!” 29 Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth. 30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.(John 19:28-30).

1) Whatever is needed to be done to please God has been finished. And God is already pleased with us, all that we ever need to live in health, righteousness, success, prosperity in our spirit, soul and body has already been supplied to us through Jesus Christ’s suffering. All these wealth are ours through faith in Jesus Christ. O what a privilege! (John 19:29-30).

The gall was like a pain-killer tablet which Satan wanted Jesus to take as a temporary relief to break the eternal prophetic fulfillment (Mark 15:23; Matthew 27:34). Even in our lives Satan will try to give cheap substitutes in order to thwart God’s great purpose just before we are about to finish our final step in to the glorious realm of eternal blessing of heaven. So reject such cheap substitutes of Satan and experience an eternity of God’s favor and joy (Heb 12:2).

Jesus was expecting prophetic fulfillment (Psalms 69:21). We too must wait for God’s prophetic timing in which God will step in to your situation and give you the strength and understanding to make sure all that has been planned by Him ahead of time will get fulfilled by empowering you and will fulfill it in His perfect timing though your life.

2) A Nazarene should not drink wine, vinegar and similar drinks during their time of vow (Numbers 6:2-3); nor Priests before service (Leviticus 10:8-11). Do not give in to temptation, when tempted to break the vow of consecration that you have made to God. It is better not to make a vow before God, than to make it and then foolishly break it (Eccl 5:4-5).

3) The shout that Jesus did saying “It is finished” is the greatest victory shout of eternity (Psalms 47:1; 1 Corinthians 2:7-8). We should continue to rejoice and repeat the victory shout when ever Satan tries to attack us spirit, soul and body. It is a victory shout because all that is required by God to fulfill has been fulfilled by Jesus for us. Because of Jesus fulfilling the Law and Prophets perfectly as a substitute for us, we have been positioned in perfectness before God (Matt 5:17). We are positioned perfectly before God, forgiven from all our past, present and future sins (Eph 4:32). Thus we are in the place of unhindered favor of God through Jesus Christ’s death and suffering. Praise the Lord!

4) And bowing his head Jesus Worshipped God (John 19:30; Exodus 34:8). Never forget to worship God even in the moment of your death and the greatest time of disappointments in your lives (John 19:30; Job 1:20-22). God always considers such worshippers as His most favorite (Ezekiel 14:14, 20). Why don’t you train yourself to worship God through your most trying circumstances of your life? Think about it! You only have one life time of set path that God has prepared for you to exhibit your devotion toward God, but you have an infinite eternity of time ahead rewarded by God to live as an intimate, favored, blessed and preferred friend of God! O what blessedness!

5) By his Own choice He gave up his spirit, no one took it from him (John 19:30; 10:17-18; Mark 15:39). Always do the work of God willingly. God never demands an unwilling sacrifice from anybody. God is the greatest gentle man of all time, who never supersedes the will of any man. We should understand that God the Father never forced Jesus to die for us, but Jesus Himself voluntarily stepped in to the project planet earth because of His love toward us, He chose to give up His life as a substitute for us because of that undying love in His heart. He could have withdrawn Himself from the path of death anytime even up to the last second of His death because He was still God in essence (Phil 2:5-8; Matt 17:2,5; 26:53). But Jesus never ever, even for one time did He use His right as God when He lived as a Man. He limited Himself for us, so that we could be rescued from eternal judgment and death through his obedience as a substitute for us. If He had used His rights as God even once, He would have revoked Himself from fulfilling His mission for every one of us. This is the reason Satan tried to make Him do things outside of God’s will of His word in the wilderness (Matt 4:3-11). Satan knew that Jesus is the Son of God, so only he tried desperately to abort the salvation mission by tempting Him to make Him use His God-essence which was inside Him.

6) This act of perfect submission of Jesus made the veil of the temple to be torn from top to bottom indicating God reached out in to man’s heart as his temple for the first time (Mark 15:37-38). Even in our lives what look so gloomy because of our perfect submission to God, will be changed in to a glorious testimony of triumph in a moment of time when God is involved in it. Learn to submit perfectly to God’s plan and purpose for your life even when it does not make sense to your natural mind. After your perfect submission, continue to hope for God to intervene in your natural circumstances in His set timing. God will surely reach out to you and will rescue you from your hopeless circumstances because you have waited for Him. As God Himself has promised in His word that He always, “…acts for the one who waits for Him.” (Isaiah 64:4).

Jesus has risen and is alive! Praise the Lord!

He is Lord!
He is Lord!
He is risen from the dead and He is Lord
Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess,
That JESUS CHRIST is LORD!
(repeat 3 times)

Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life” (John 11:25-26). To resurrect is to breathe life back into the dead.

The Road to Emmaus

“13 Now behold, two of them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was seven miles from Jerusalem. 14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened.

15 So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them. 16 But their eyes were restrained, so that they did not know Him. 17 And He said to them, “What kind of conversation is this that you have with one another as you walk and are sad?”

18 Then the one whose name was Cleopas answered and said to Him, “Are You the only stranger in Jerusalem, and have You not known the things which happened there in these days?” 19 And He said to them, “What things?” So they said to Him, “The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, 20 and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to be condemned to death, and crucified Him. 21 But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, today is the third day since these things happened.
22 Yes, and certain women of our company, who arrived at the tomb early, astonished us. 23 When they did not find His body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said He was alive. 24 And certain of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said; but Him they did not see.” 25 Then He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?” 27 And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

28 Then they drew near to the village where they were going, and He indicated that He would have gone farther. 29 But they constrained Him, saying, “Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent.” And He went in to stay with them. 30 Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight. 32 And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?”

33 So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, 34 saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”

35 And they told about the things that had happened on the road, and how He was known to them in the breaking of bread.(Luke 24:13-35).

1) When you have a hungry heart for the things of God, Jesus himself will draw near to you! (Luke 24:15-17).

2) The religious people will always want to know Jesus only as the God of the past, not in the present. It is absolutely unbelief in disguise (Luke 24:18-21) - [(Hebrews 13:8)].

3) A little more hungry disciples will be affected by the news of miracles and the resurrection of Jesus, as a result will hear-say about Jesus. These people need to meet the resurrected Lord, not just stop at Good Friday (Luke 24:22-27).

4) You need to stop Jesus from going further and fellowship with Him intimately. This will open your spiritual eyes to see and experience Jesus in His resurrection power (Luke 24:28-32).

5) After experiencing Jesus in a resurrected way, then you will go in faith and announce to the World that the Lord is risen (Luke 24:33-34).

6) The Lord Jesus even today will be revealed to you only when the breaking of bread happens. The bread is the quickened word of God (Luke 24:35) - [Luke 4:4; Matthew 4:4].
