What Does The Parable Of The Dragnet Teaches Us About?

What Did Jesus Really Reveal To Us Through The Parable Of The Dragnet Cast In To The Sea?

Question: What does the parable of the Dragnet teaches us about? What did Jesus really reveal to us through the parable of the Dragnet Cast In To The Sea? And also why did he further speak about the scholarly scribe as an owner of the house or a householder who is instructed concerning the Kingdom Of Heaven and brings out his treasure things old and new?

Answer: Greetings to you in Jesus wonderful name!

Parables of Jesus are earthly stories which He tells to reveal heavenly realities of the Kingdom of Heaven, and thus make the disciple understand the mysteries of heaven and screen off the unbeliever or a lethargic person away from knowing the deeper and more precious spiritual things that they do not value (Matt 7:6, 7-8; Php 3:2).

Here are the Parables:

"47 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet that was cast into the sea and gathered some of every kind, 48 which, when it was full, they drew to shore; and they sat down and gathered the good into vessels, but threw the bad away. 49 So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, 50 and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” 51 Jesus said to them, “Have you understood all these things?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” 52 Then He said to them, “Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old.”" (Matt 13:47-52).

We know that the "the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet that was cast into the sea." What does dragnet and sea speak about in the spiritual realm?

Again we know, when Simon tried to catch fishes the whole night and caught nothing until the daybreak and was very disappointed as a professional fisher man who was afraid of what had taken place, Jesus comes there and commands to him, "Launch out in to the deep and let down your nets for a catch."

At the very word of Jesus Simon humbled himself and with faith did the command of Jesus in obedience, and not only Simon but every one who was working along with him were astonished at the catch, it was indeed a net breaking catch which made all the nearby boat to come and help them so that both the boats were filled with fishes even to the point of sinking. As Jesus wanted to convey the real reason why they did not get the fish even though they were professional fishermen, first he calmed their nerves by saying to them to not to be afraid and then assured that from that time onward they will catch souls of men instead of fishes. They immediately brought the boats to the shore to forsake all and follow Jesus in implicit obedience (Luke 5:4-11). Praise the Lord!

So dragnet in the spiritual realm is a tool of God that is given by God or bestowed by Him upon a person, most of the times humans and few times in exception even some angels receive an anointing to attract souls in to the Kingdom of God through their message which when believed by the recipients will make them open a path for themselves to enter in to the Kingdom of Heaven as opposed to this temporal earth (Acts 1:8; 1 Cor 1:21; Rev 14:6-7).

The sea in the Bible are the nations, tongues and people who live in all the nations of the world except Israel (Rev 13:1; 17:15; Dan 7:2; Isa 60:5). Kingdom of God looks for sinners who are ready to humble themselves as sinners and believe the Savior Jesus Christ whom God has provided as a door to reach heaven and thus become God's children (Luke 18:9-14; John 1:12; 10:7-9).

Preaching and teaching the word of God through the anointing of the Holy Spirit is the dragnet that is thrown in to all the sea of the world to catch the soul of humans and bring them in to the faith boat of the Kingdom of God which saves them now (1 Pet 3:20-21). We are told to preach the Gospel to all nations (Mark 16:15). Praise the Lord!

When we do obey the Word of Jesus to preach and teach the Word of God through the anointing and thus throw the net deep to catch for humans in the world, we will
"[gather] some of every kind", which does mean that people good and bad do come to get saved (Rom 10:13, 10)

The good people repent of their sins, but the bad people come in the midst of spiritual activity but will not get saved instead will continue to put mask as a hypocrite and remain without repentance for their sins (Matt 3:6-12). The bad people who hear the good news but do not believe it in their heart and continue to live their bad lives in the world will remain unsaved, and the soul still condemned for hell fire (John 3:19-21)

In other words, just as all types of good and bad fishes are together caught in the dragnet, both the saved and unsaved are caught in to the anointing of the good news of the Gospel of God, but then when it is pulled out and evaluated for its worthiness during God's judgment at the end of each persons life, the good is taken in to God's celestial city and the bad are thrown out in to hell fire made for the rebellious angels who have rebelled against God.

At the end of the age, before the Millennial reign of Jesus and the Church takes place, there will be a judgment of all nations (Matt 25:31-46), in which the angels sent by God will come forth to begin to separate the wicked unsaved people from among the just people who have believed in Jesus Christ and are saved (Matt 13:36-43), then the wicked will be cast in to the eternal fire (Matt 25:41, 46), and the righteous will enter in to the Kingdom of The Father God prepared since the foundation of the world to inherit it (Matt 25:34). Hallelujah!

Jesus after saying this Parable of the Dragnet, asks his disciples, “Have you understood all these things?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” The Lord Jesus was training these fishermen and laymen's to become a scholar by the anointing of heaven, and thus connecting scripture to scripture by the power of the Holy Spirit (Isa 28:10-12, 13-14), they were able to boldly say to Jesus that they have understood the above parable of the Dragnet.

Jesus Is Training Laymen Scholars For His Kingdom Eternal Work, Have You Become One?

"52 Then He said to them, “Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old.”" (Matt 13:52).

A Scribe [i.e. Scholar] is not someone who has done a doctor in philosophy (PHD) degree as in the world and remains a great intellect full of pride for his knowledge (1 Cor 1:26-27). God has not chosen many wise, mighty and noble but rather many weak, insignificant and despised things of the world He has chosen, to put to shame the things which are mighty, that no flesh should glory in His Presence (1 Cor 1:28-29). God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble (Jam 4:6).

So the Lord is able to use anybody in His Kingdom by giving them the anointing to fulfill His call over their lives (Rom 8:29-30; Heb 5:4; Acts 1:8).

When the word 'Therefore', comes, we should take notice, of why it is 'there-for(e)'. In other words, what ever has been spoken before, the conclusion continues when therefore is used. As we are all a individual scribe of the disciple of Jesus, we who have thus learned about the Kingdom of Heaven, should take the revelation of the parables of Jesus in to our heart and completely understand what Jesus wants to convey to us.

Jesus says that we as a disciple of Jesus who have become a child of God, and thus the inheritor of the Kingdom of God, we have also most importantly become a owner and a householder of the mysteries of the Kingdom of God. Now that we have the ability to bring out God's treasure of the truth of heaven both from the New Testament and the Old Testament, we are the scholars who need to spread out the message to our fellow brethren to make them understand and become strong in the spirit for the Glory of God. This supernatural ability to not only understand the parables of Jesus which are heavenly treasures hidden from the beginning of the world, but also teach them to others shows that God has endowed us with the ability of heaven to walk as the children of God (Luke 10:17-20, 21-24; Matt 13:10-17; Mark 4:10-13). O what a privilege! Hallelujah!

We should understand that the Old Testament is New Testament concealed, and the New Testament is Old Testament revealed, therefore as a child of God we are truly an "householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old". Praise the Lord!

A Bible believing Christian is an householder of God, he knows the deeper mysteries of the Kingdom of God and also practices those things in their own life to understand how it works in their own lives and in other people's lives too. They will read the Bible inside out and will try to know the deeper mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven day in and day out by reading the Word of God and praying to God for a deeper revelation of His mysteries till they one day will leave this earth and see the face of God in heaven.

Have you become the owner of God's mysteries of the Parables of Jesus? Do you understand both the Old and New Testament, to not only bring out the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven to walk in your own life, but also tell to others to make them understand it and lead them to deeper truth? Do you attract souls in to the Kingdom of God? Have you been endowed with the anointing to teach and preach the Kingdom of Heaven and therefore help people enter in to it and become citizens of it? If you have not yet received this anointing of the Baptism of the Spirit, ask God and persist till you receive it and begin to use it for the Glory of God. Surely there is a judgment for righteous people separately in which God will reward them eternally for their works of faith, but there is also a final separate White Throne Judgment for the wicked unsaved in which their works will be judged, and they themselves will be condemned eternally for not believing the truth, but instead had pleasure in unrighteousness having no love of the truth within them (1 Thess 2:9-12). In short, NO HUMANS OR ANGELS CAN ESCAPE FROM THE JUDGMENT OF GOD WHICH THEY HAVE TO FACE WITHOUT FAIL happens presently and also in the future at the end of the age and further down. Pre-millenial judgment of God on earth is the judgment of all nations and the post-,millenial judgement of God is the White Throne Judgment which will take place outside of this present earth somewhere between heaven and earth (Matt 25:31-46; Rev 20:11-15).

If you are a child of God and are a part of the Kingdom of Heaven, then serve the Lord with all your heart and keep living the mysteries of heaven, and further try your best to teach and preach about it to the ends of the earth moving in the fear of God, and thus rejoice in the treasure that you already have through learning and meditating on the parables of Jesus, till you master it and let the truth master you at the end of it all (Php 4:4)! Praise the Lord! GLORY!

Much Blessings...
