In this preceding passages, Jesus is saying that we can receive God's eternal life within us only as we believe in the cleansing blood of Jesus that forgives our sins and opens a living way towards God to initiate a relationship with Him. Only those who have believed in the power of His blood to cleanse their sins and regularly hear the word of God which He speaks to their spirit-man which is inside them, will be able to continue in their relationp with God and experience His divine life of heaven inside their heart. Those who do experience God's life within them now on earth will finally be raised in a spiritual metaphysical body on the day of rapture of all saints, in which Jesus will give them all a glorious eternal sin-free blessed body. Those who are forgiven by believing His blood which has the power to forgive all their sins and those who heard His voice to believe the word which he speaks will supernaturally receive the power that will revive their spirit-man and also they will be able to intimately experience fellowship with Jesus spiritually. He emphasized that following Him physically cannot make much of a difference in their lives. Jesus conveyed that all those who believe Him should learn to follow him spiritually because very soon after He would die on behalf of those who had believed Him, at that time no one will be able to follow Him physically any more because He will settle at the right hand of God to bring God's blessing over their lives from heaven to earth (John 6:62).
One time a skeptical relative of mine asked me this question sarcastically, 'All Christians say give you heart to Jesus, give your heart to Jesus. What is this? Medically the heart does nothing but pump the blood of people. Why do they say like this?' Immediately for the first time the Holy Spirit gave light to my mind and I said to him, 'You yourself have said why Christians are saying give your heart to Jesus. The Bible says that the life of a person is in the blood (Lev 17:11, 14). Blood is a sacred thing that God has commanded no man to eat because God doesn't want any human to disregard the value of life that God has created and go to the level of animals to destroy one another just for the sake of survival. This is true even in our New Testament times too (Acts 15:28-29). Its blood that sustains a beings life, so to give ones heart means that they should give every area of their emotion, motive, passion and life to fulfill the purpose of God for their lives.' Immediately he had no answer to oppose the message that I conveyed to him.
The first time Adam and Eve sinned and have got seperated from God in their spirit-man spiritually, immediately God lovingly sacrificed a animal and covered their whole body with the blood of an animal skin. Once the blood of the animal covered their body of sin, the skin of the animals clothed them perfectly and covered their physical and spiritual nakeness that they incured because of taking a disobedient and a poor choice to sin against God's command (Gen 3:2, 11; 2:16-17). Before this event when both Adam and Eve tried to cover themselves their physical nakedness by sewing and making fig leaves coverings, it did not profit them neither physically nor spiritually (Gen 3:7-10). What can we learn from this? We cannot save ourselves by our own ideas and efforts, only when God applies the blood of Jesus over our lives we can again be made whole from spiritual poverty and nakedness. God could have simply forgiven Adam and Eve any other way without blood, but symbolically covered Adam and Eve to show them that one day He himself would become one among them and sacrifice Himself for their sins through his own blood and will cover their life with His own righteousness (Heb 9:12, 26, 28). This shows that from the beginning God had ordained by His own choice for the sinless blood to be a sacred and a precious thing which has the power to forgive sins of all people (Heb 9:22). Truly without the shedding of the innocent blood, there can be no remission of sin.
Ater God instituted a restoration of fellowship with Him through the blood sacrifice of animals which pointed them to the coming Messiah who will sacrifice Himself and cause God's eternal favour to come back over their lives (Gen 4:14, 16, 25-26; 5:1, 3-4), Cain the first born of Adam was reluctant to do God's will and did not have the humility to exchange his fruit of the ground for a sheep from his younger brother Abel, and tried to usurp arrongantly the God ordained way of connecting to Him through a blood sacrifice of animals, and thus tried to set His own rules of connecting to God through the work of His hands which were cursed according to God with out the blood covering over his life (Gen 3:17-19). Thus God rejected Cain's sacrifice and he finally got cursed because of his pride, jealousy and murder of the innocent (Gen 4:2-5, 10-16). Some people say that God did not reject Cain because of the offering he gave and point to the Old Testament non-blood offering and tithes that God commanded (Lev 23:10-11; 2:1-16; Deut 26:1-4). But all these offerings were voluntary for fellowship with God, but the burnt and sin offering of blood was mandatory for all the people of Israel without which they will not even be able to be a part of the covenant with God as God's people (Exod 12:13-14; Lev 9:7; 16:15-17; Heb 7:27; 9:7-8).
Even until today this is the same kind of problems we face in lives of the people of our generation too, many religious people like Cain try to substitute good works to connect God by rejecting the God ordained way of connecting to Him through the blood of Jesus Christ who is God's only begotten Son and the one and only way to God. Jesus did not try to mince words and wanted to be famous in the world of His times, instead he bodly declared that He is the only way to God and that his blood which is shed for the forgiveness of all the sins of human beings is the only God ordained way to reach God through Him (John 14:6-7; Matt 26:28).
In the Old Testament times God commanded the Israelites to do the offerings and festivals regularly every year without fail, which the Israelites kept under compulsion (Heb 10:1). God did this and orderd them to keep the rituals in order to make them understand the importance of blood which prefigured the death of the Messiah of Israel, Jesus Christ who is to come (Heb 10:1, 3-4; 1:1-3; Col 2:16-17; Gal 4:3-5), His shed blood through which they all received forgiveness of sins to go to heaven where the real tabernacle of God stands (Heb 9:11-14, 22-25; 11:39-40). Jesus once at the end of the ages have appreared on behalf of all of us and have thus taken all of our sins upon Himself and have become the High Priest in the heavens for us before God where the real tabernacle of God and His Throne stands (Heb 9:27). Because Jesus has done it all for us, now we can all go with boldness towards the throne of God in heaven directly and submit our petition and needs to God directly in Jesus name. Not only we can expect an answer but can give thanks immediately along with our petitions, believing God has answered our prayer because of drawing near to God by the blood of Jesus (Heb 10:19-24; Mark 11:22-24; Phil 4:6-7). In other words, EVERY TIME YOU DRAW NEAR TO GOD BY FAITH IN THE FORGIVING POWER OF THE BLOOD OF JESUS, GOD WILL BE DELIGHTED TO ANSWER YOU AND NEVER SAYS NO UNLESS IT IS NOT IN HIS WILL FOR YOUR LIVES (Heb 12:24). Praise the Lord!
The Blood Never Loses Its Power! Praise the Lord!
The Differences that the Blood of Jesus has made and continues to make in our lives
1) The new covenant which Jesus made with God was done through His sinless blood, it is the means through which we have received forgiveness from God by faith (Matt 26:28; Luke 22:20).
2) When we took the power of the blood of Jesus in to our spiritual lives by faith, we received eternal life of God in our spirit, which is actually a life of intimate knowledge and fellowship with God through Jesus Christ His only begotten Son (John 6:54; 17:3; 1 John 5:11-13).
3) The Church was purchased by Jesus from God with His own blood (Acts 20:28).
4) God's justful wrath for our sins which is being cut off from His Presence and fellowship is averted when we approach God's Throne every time confessing our sins, faults and weaknesses in our daily life by faith (Rom 3:25; 1 John 1:7, 9). Jesus is the mercy seat of God [i.e. propitiation] for all humans to approach and receive favour from Him (1 John 2:2; 4:10; Heb 2:17; 10:18-23; 4:14-16).
5) We are seen by God just as if we have never sinned by being made as righteous through the blood of Jesus (Rom 5:9; 2 Cor 5:21).
6) By the blood of Jesus we who have believed Jesus have been brought near to God in our spiritual man and have been interpenetratively connected with Him through the Holy Spirit (Eph 2:13, 18, 22).
7) We have peace with God through the blood of Jesus, thus clearly indicating that God is no more angry at our sins and failures because of Jesus who paid the price for our sins before Him (Col 1:20).
8) We have been freed from the penalty, power and presence of sin because of the precious blood of Christ Jesus which was shed on behalf us towards God (1 Peter 2:18-19).
9) We overcome Satan and destroy his evil accusation towards us by confessing to God our present sins and reminding Satan about the testimony of having received forgiveness and cleansing through the blood of Jesus (Rev 12:11).
10) Jesus has washed us from our sins in His own blood becuase of His unceasing love towards us (Rev 1:5). By His blood Jesus bought us to God and have made us kings and priests to our God (Rev 5:9). We have been bought with a price (1 Cor 6:20)! SO GLORIFY GOD IN ALL THINGS! Praise the Lord!
“If the guilt of sin is so great that nothing can satisfy it but the blood of Jesus; and the filth of sin is so great that nothing can fetch out the stain thereof but the blood of Jesus, how great, how heinous, how sinful must the evil of sin be” — William Bridges
