Follow Up, "Did King Solomon Go To Hell Finally?"
Is that not contradicting the following Bible verses ??
James 2:24 "Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only"
James 2:20 "But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?"
A : Apostle James is not contradicting the message of salvation only by faith. Instead all he is saying is, true faith will always have works to follow with it. Anyone who says that they have faith without a manifestation of God's righteous works through them are deceived about their faith. For this reason Apostle Paul said to each believer to check themselves whether their faith is true or not through their works, yet it is God who works through each believer who cooperates with the Lord (2 Cor 13:5; Php 2:13). If someone have no assurance of salvation or does not have any works coming out of their lives, they need to seek God by believing in Jesus and God will give assurance to all true believers through the Holy Spirit and also will save them if they come honestly to Him as sinners in need of the savior Jesus, and accept Him as the Lord and Savior of their lives if they are not saved really (1 John 3:24; 4:13; Mark 2:17; John 6:39-40). Truly if someone is saved, they will have the life of God within them (1 John 5:11-12). Having Life will move any person to work naturally, but dead spiritual bodies cannot move and work because of lack of life within it. One does not have to help someone to work if they have life within them. They will automatically do the works which they are supposed to do. The same thing happens in a believer who has the true faith of God that has brought the life of God within them, they will naturally start to work towards the plans that God has for their lives. One may reach the perfect will of God, the other believer may be satisfied in the acceptable will of God and still other believers may enter the good will of God by accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior to be saved, but stay fruitless and live useless life with out renewing their mind (Rom 12:2; John 15:5). And as a result of it they will lose much of their reward in heaven, but in all these instance the saving faith will be found in all of them with a desire of God to do good works for the Lord which comes with true salvation (Eph 2:10; Php 2:13; Rev 3:11; Col 3:23-25). This is what apostle James pointed and showed from the example of Old Testament saints like Abraham and Rahab, who had this living faith within them which made them to do the righteous works that God had planned for them (James 2:21-26). So works does not save us or any human, right from the days of our forefather first Adam, but will follow us when we have faith.
As for Solomon's salvation proof, we need the same Scripture that says Abraham and Rahab were saved by this same faith as we have (James 2:14). Solomon came more than 1000 years after Abraham, so it was the same way he must have been saved too. How do we know that? Because apostle Paul clearly said that "only those who are of faith are the sons of Abraham." (Gal 3:7). In other words, Paul is saying that there is no difference between us or any one who has believed in Jehovah God during the ages past, all are saved by faith like Abraham and become his children through it. Then clearly the writer to the Hebrews says that the Old Testament saints were perfected and received the promised salvation only after Jesus rose from the dead, they waited until this time in Hades and received salvation along with all the believers of the New Testament times (Heb 11:39-40; Matt 27:52-53; Jude 3). Even King David said the same thing prophetically and died in hope of salvation through Jesus Christ (Acts 2:27; Psa 65:2-3). Clearly Jesus took the captives out of the captivity of Hades and brought them to heaven after His resurrection and from that time God gave gifts of grace to the Church in the same way to proclaim this message of salvation by faith (Eph 4:7-10). So from this we can easily conclude that all the Old Testament saints including King Solomon were saved by their faith and not by their works (Eph 2:8-9).
Much Blessings.....
