Is Salvation as Gift and Rewards for Works, Right?
Abraham Israel : "Rewards are worked for in our Christian lives, whereas Salvation is a gift of God that make us eligible to compete for a reward ahead!!"
Q: You must remember that to make statements like you made is very missleading and im afraid there is no grace, or new Testement scripture to back up your statement on competing in the kingdom of God. All Im saying is that the spirit behind being competitive and the Spirit behind Grace are totaly in contradiction with one and other. If you make statements you need to back it up with scriptures otherwize you are way off Blog. Give me scriptures to the point. We are saved by grace and that not of ourselver lest anyone should boast. Remember that grace is past present and future continues. If you sugest that we can now become competitive you are rejecting grace and re introducing works law and dead works leading to unhealthy carnal and fleshly spirit manifestations. I think that you need to stop and see that a competitive spirit will stop at nothing to overcome or win at the cost of all those involved. I have been a Son of God since 1974 and I was in the South African Army and Airforce for 14 years and now I am in real estate and I can assure you that a competitive spirit is anything but Godly. All scripture sugests the oposite of a competitive spirit. Sorry Brother, but this whole idea is not of God.
A: First of all we are not competing against any humans, but against our own soulish will that wants us to fulfill its own desire and not the will of God (Gal 5:17). This why Apostle Paul says things like , "...wage the good warfare" (1 Tim 1:18-19) and "Fight the good fight of faith" (1 Tim 6:12). We do not work to get saved but we work to get rewards in heaven (2 Tim 4:7-8). Grace is indeed forever, but we do the walking by appropriating it in our daily lives or else grace will be wasted (1 Cor 15:10). All are Saved by Grace who have believed in the substitutionary death of Jesus as their Savior and also they are forgiven of all the past, present and future sins (Eph 2:8; 4:32). After salvation is received we are prepared in the new man to serve God and do the God-prepared works that he has planned for us (Eph 2:10). We do no lose salvation when we do not use the grace of God resourcefully, but our rewards are at stake (Rev 22:12; 3:11; Titus 3:8). We did not save ourself and so we cannot revoke our own salvation and unsave ourself, but we are accountable to God for what we do with the new life that God has given after we are saved (2 Cor 5:10). All the works that we have done in Jesus name with a pure motive to glorify nobody but God and also things done because of our love towards Him will be rewarded (Gal 6:7-10). All others wrong motives will be revealed to us and will not earn us any eternal reward for us, as they will be burnt before the fire of God's perfection (1 Cor 3:14-15). The bottom line is, we are not only saved to go to heaven but also to serve God as His servant voluntarily on earth now and in the new earth in the future (Matt 6:10; 2 Peter 3:13), out of love and thankfulness for what He has already done for us through Jesus Christ (John 3:16; Eph 2:10; Deut 6:5, 12-13; Matt 4:10).

apostolicrevelation.blogspot.com is one of the world's fast growing popular Bible study websites, attracting thousands of visitors daily from all around the world. We follow a unique revelatory apostolic seer writing from the Scripture with Rapture taking place any time after Mid-Point but before Great Tribulation begins through Antichrist, we use dispensational interpretation of Scripture and believe the Bible teaches salvation by grace through faith alone, and the eternal security of believers. We will focus mainly on apostolic teaching that will edify, equip and empower the saints to reach their full potential in Christ Jesus. Our goal is the edification, evangelism and empowerment of the last day Church that the Lord Jesus Christ is raising up before His triumphant return!
