Whose Name Should Be Used While Giving Baptism, Jesus Or Trinity?
In which I came across that “the COLLECTIVE NAME” for FATHER ,SON and HOLY SPIRIT is JESUS, which misleads many as a SINGULAR NAME to conclude as for the only ONE eternal . To be clear, since there is no verse indicating FATHER named as JESUS, or HOLY SPIRIT named as JESUS. The SON OF GOD is alone named JESUS.
Baptism in the name of FATHER ,SON and HOLY SPIRIT is SAME ONE as Baptism in the name of JESUS as given. Both means as planned by the FATHER (in His council), ‘IN JESUS‘ and by the leading of HOLY SPIRIT (1 PETER 1:2). Baptism ‘IN JESUS’ indicates that we have died for sin with JESUS, buried with JESUS, and raised up with JESUS for righteousness.
Using THE NAME JESUS means acting ‘IN JESUS’ , about Jesus, with Jesus etc and what all the WORD OF GOD says about JESUS does matters, because Rev 19:13 says 'HIS NAME IS THE WORD OF GOD'. Just to use the literal name of JESUS does have no authority as shown in Acts 19:13, but when we mean it, it does have authority (Acts 16:18). Only the relationship with the person which the name JESUS points does matter. Thank you.
A: The name Jesus is the Son of God manifested in the flesh, but the power behind the name belongs to all three person of the Godhead. The Son is eternal God in the flesh who dwelt in a human body and was named JESUS the CHRIST. Christ literally means 'the anointed one and Messiah'. It cannot mislead people as long as they understand the Trinity of our God. Much Blessings.....
