What Are The Characteristics Of A Wise And Foolish Servants?

How Do We Recognize Those Wise And Foolish Servants Of God In These End Times?

Question:What are the Characteristics of a wise and foolish servants? How do we recognize those wise and foolish servants of God in these End Times? Matt 24:45-51, Could you please explain in details.

Answer: Greetings to you in Jesus wonderful name!

Here are the contextual Scriptures:

Matt 24:45-51"45 “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. 47 Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods. 48 But if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ 49 and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, 50 the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of, 51 and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.".

Praise the Lord! To the question 'Who is then a faithful and a wise servant?' Jesus himself answers so clearly about it in details below. First of all those servants of Jesus who are made ruler over his household which is the Church of the Living God are the only servants considered as those who serve Him (1 Tim 2:15). The rulers over the Church should have the character and experience to humbly guide the people of God in faith, and it is indeed a precondition which should be fulfilled for qualifying them as deacons, bishops, pastors, evangelists, apostles, prophets and teachers, etc... (1 Tim 3:1-13; 2 Tim 3:1-17; Titus 2:1-10).

But then, does the command of Jesus stop with the Pastors? No, by all means and methods, the believers are told to disciple all believers through the faith they have learnt in their personal walk of life with Jesus (John 21:15-19; 2 Tim 2:2). They believers are told to look up to the faith of the leaders of the Church and follow them considering the outcome of their conduct (Heb 13:7).

Every believer who is proved in faith can become a ruler in the household of faith which is the Church of God (1 Tim 3:1). God has promised through Jesus, spiritual glory and eternal rulership for all the members of the Church who overcome sin and live a life of repentance for the Glory of God (Rev 2:7, 11, 17, 26; 3:5, 12, 21).

There is a temptation for the novice and foxy hearted people within faith who are not born again, but choose to work within its walls as evil servants, to become lethargic and start to use the property, people and power within the Church as their own, then they start to swindle God's money and use it as a business investment to multiply it through ministry and start to build an empire on earth, using the name of Jesus as the product supplied to the members of the Church. These may come to a light-hearted place of sound sleep spiritually, where they begin to sense the delaying of the coming of Jesus and totally start to
"beat their fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards". This very attitude of lethargy has creeped in to such people because of spiritual blindness, but as the sentence against their evil work is not executed speedily by God, therefore the heart of these sons of men is fully set in them to do evil (Eccl 8:11).

But Jesus has clearly told that he will come at a time unexpectedly like a thief who strikes a place suddenly to commit a crime, every lethargic hearted evil servants, will be judged by God through being left behind in the rapture or getting caught in the judgment of Christ which he regularly executes through letting evil get hold of evil doers lives (Rev 3:10; 1 Tim 1:20; 1 Cor 5:5). Such evil doers will be caught in the net of their own snares that they have practiced. When a person uses the ministry as a spring board to become rich and live a high life of tyranny and live as a playboy, it is surely because of the delayed coming of the Lord Jesus to the earth, such a person's heart have swelled up in pride and arrogance to commit evil and lead many astray in to hell fire (Matt 7:21-23; 23:15). Surely on the judgment day, a higher intensity of eternal torment will come to them, as the stricter judgment from the Lord will take over their soul as He will "cut [them] in two and appoint [them] the portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth" (Matt 24:51). O for the unending torment of the eternal flame! No one should ever enter it but fear the Lord now to live and not die!

Thus we can deduce the characteristics of a wise and foolish servant,

1) A wise servant will serve the people of God with love, but a foolish servant will rule them with tyranny. In other words, a wise servant will use money to love people, but a foolish servant will love money and use people to earn more of it for themselves and their ends.

2) A wise servant will serve the Lord in loyalty and express it in love towards people even when they still find Him delaying his coming, the foolish servant will begin to think in pride without any humility to bloat their own self to think themselves as the owner and not a servant, and will rebel towards Him because of his delay in coming.

3) A wise servant will keep themselves controlled by denying themselves and taking up their cross to follow Jesus, a foolish servant will feed themselves of God's people and will sacrifice them when Satanic wolfish dangers come to destroy their soul life, they do this in order they can support their own evil habit to eat and drink with the drunkards (Luke 9:23-26, 27; John 10:11-13).

4) A wise servant will be taken up in the rapture of the Church because of their faith, patience and expectation (1 Thess 4:14-17, 18), while the foolish servant will be caught unawares to be suddenly left behind in the world to be tested and proved whether they fear God or fear only a human, whether they live for God or only they live for themselves (Rev 3:10).

5) A wise servant will be faithful to God and the people of God in serving them with pure and healthy spiritual food of doctrines and commandments in due season that Jesus had taught them which they practice and teach, a foolish servant will be unfaithful to feed the people of God with unhealthy and blasphemous doctrines to destroy their souls which they never practiced themselves but instead practiced lawlessness (Rev 2:14-15; Matt 7:23).

6) A wise servant will look forward to eternal and spiritual treasure from Jesus (Rev 22:12), while the foolish servant will live for meager earthly reward of money, sex and power to satisfy their lust of self indulgence (2 Peter 2:12-17, 18-22).

7) A wise servant is a born-again person heading to heaven, while the foolish servant is a unsaved human living in his own deception of sin, but thinks like he is on the way to heaven but knows very well within their own heart and conscience because of evil works they do, and the lack of repentance in their own heart, that they are heading to hell fire.

8) By their faithful and good works they do, the wise person prove their faith. By the unfaithful and evil works they do, the foolish person prove their unfaith and unsaved heart (Jam 2:14, 20, 22; 2 Cor 13:5-6).

9) A wise person by the fear of the Lord will keep himself always ready through bearing fruits of the Spirit to work with the gifts of the Spirit for the Glory of God, a foolish person by the fear of man and lawlessness will disqualify himself by the fruit of the flesh, and its dead and evil works (Gal 5:19-21, 22-23; 1 Cor 12:4-11; Rom 12:6-8; Prov 29:25). The foolish person will take advantage of the grace and mercies of the Lord to misuse it for themselves and build their own empire by their will and wealth, instead of doing the will of the Lord (Jude 1:4; 2 Tim 2:12; Gen 4:23-24).

We can find the false and foolish servants of the devil from the true and wise servants of Jesus through their faith and conduct and the good character that they display from within them (Matt 7:15-20; Heb 13:7). A good person cannot display the nature of the devil constantly and a evil person cannot display the nature of God constantly. In these end times of deception, when we obey God through obeying the commandments and voice of Jesus that comes through His Spirit, we will become wise to stay illuminated in the light of God's Word or else in our rebellion and sinfulness we will continue to stay foolish in this dark world spiritually (Matt 24:4, 24-25). Hallelujah!

We can almost hear the footsteps of our Lord Jesus opening the door of heaven to come and take us to our Father's House, open your spiritual eyes and ears and stay tuned to heaven's call to BE RAPTURED! BEWARE, LEST YOU BE LEFT-BEHIND.

Much Love and Blessings....
