I am A Catholic, What Is Your View On Idolatry?

Is Idol Worship Wrong For A Catholic?

Q: Praise the Lord! I have a question, I am a Catholic and we are doing idol worship. What is your view on this question?

A: You know we cannot worship idols and be a worshiper of our true God at the same time (1 Cor 10:21-22). Both cannot go at the same time. We are saved to serve God and our God is a jealous God who cannot accommodate any false God apart from Himself who is the only Creator. Here is where our God has clearly given a prohibiting command to the saints to keep them from partaking in Idolatry,
"2 “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. [therefore,] 3 “You shall have no other gods before Me. 4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; 5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments." (Exodus 20:2-6).

He commands His people not to worship any idols because he owns the rights over them because of saving them from the slavery of sin and bondage of Satan. Because God has saved us from the slavery of sin, therefore we cannot worship idol and be blessed by our God at the same time. An idol is any image or object or a lustful desire in humans that tries to demonically desensitize the mind of humans and tries to take the worship for itself that rightfully belong to the Creator God only
(R
ev 9:18-21; Col 3:5). It is the false god of Satan and his demons who try to corrupt the mind of God's people and try to project itself as visible god but without the substance of life in it (1 Cor 10:19-20; Isa 44:15-20). Our God challenges His people to see how perfectly what He has foretold in His word have come to pass to become His-story and challenges His people to believe that only He is worthy of worship because of it, and then in the same vein God exhorts His people to look to Him the only true God in order to be saved from sin and death (Isa 48:5; 45:20-22). If you really love Jesus from your heart, you cannot partake in idol worship anymore. Idol worshipers will inherit the curses of heathens in their lives if they still worship idols after coming to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior (Psa 16:4).

Also through Apostle Paul God spoke to the saints saying,
"16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “ I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” 17 Therefore “ Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.” 18 “I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the LORD Almighty.”" (2 Cor 6:16-18). Idolatry is a unclean thing that the Lord does even not want His people to even touch and partake in it. If God has to move in our lives, dwell, walk among our lives and family as we are the New Testament temple of God, we should obey the Lord and separate ourselves from all the idolatry of our past lives. Only when God dwells through His presence, we and our family will be blessed by the Lord (1 Chron 13:14). So I believe that you should be courageous enough to thrown away the attitude of idol worship and idolatry, then love the Lord and passionately follow the Lord to be really blessed by the Lord.

Much Blessings......
