I believe God has already provided all the healings that we ever need for our body by “His word”.
“He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions” (Psalm 107:20).
When His word is received and mi
xed with faith, the result of it is healing and deliverance. With out the faith ingredient being mixed with the word, the word will not profit us (Heb 4:2). Here we can see that God is speaking about our healing in the past tense. So it is not a provision problem that we have, but it is a revelation problem. Revelation is something that we experientially learn by believing and doing a particular thing that God has told us to do. According to God He sees us as perfect being in Christ Jesus. It is up to each one of us to appropriate what God has already provided in the Spiritual realm through Jesus Christ. “His word” in this verse speaks about the Divine person [the Logos – the eternal Word].
In the book of Isaiah God speaks about this same divine person of God [i.e. Jesus Christ] as, “Surely [with out doubt] He [i.e. Jesus Christ] has borne [paid the cost for] our sicknesses and carried our pains…By His stripes we are Healed” (Isaiah 53:4, 5). From the above verse we can understand that Jesus has already not only paid the cost for our redemption but also has taken upon Himself the pains that we should experience ourselves.
Sickness is nothing but the state of being ill or a particular illness, suffering from a disease or not feeling well. Death is the end of the life of a person in this planet earth. These two are very related. Sickness is a curse upon mankind that was caused by man’s disobedience to God. The result of sin is sickness. For if by the one man's offense [trespass] death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ (Rom 5 :17). To reign means to rule or be a king or queen. Since God has positioned us in our spirit to be able to receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness, it is up to us to choose to reign in life by fighting the fight of faith.
So God has already given us the power to rule over sin, sickness and death. And this power becomes operational and active only by faith. Faith is a substance or in another translation says “Faith gives substance”. When you live by faith, this active power of God which is full of life will flow in to your body day in and day out to keep you in good health.
Faith is a spirit which means, we have a spirit that can receive faith when it comes [Faith comes when we hear God speak to us in our spirit man (Rom 10:17)] and we mix it with the word of God [and hold it patiently in our mind with expectancy toward God] to see and experience the resultant power of God in our life. And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I believed and therefore I spoke," we also believe and therefore speak, knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you (2 Cor 4:13-14).
We see in the above verse that when we believe the word of God we will speak it out. And this will cause the power of God to manifest in one’s life. God who sees our faith will raise us from our sicknesses, just as He raised Jesus from the death through His Spirit. He will raise us up with Jesus which means with what He has done for Jesus He will do for us too through His Spirit who lives with in our spirit man. And this healing and health is ours in Jesus Christ and God expects us to use this privilege by our faith in the finished work of Jesus [i.e. healing stripes (1 Peter 2:24)] which He had achieved for us to reign in this life as kings and queens along with Him.
As we begin to store the good things of the word of God in our heart by confessing God’s word, the word gets engrafted as a part of our being, as a result God’s life will flow in to us and our whole body will be energized by the power of God. Words are carriers of faith! Healing is a fact as far as God is concerned.
The word of God says, “A wholesome tongue [healing tongue] is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.” (Prov 15:4).The wholesome tongue or healing tongue is the one which speaks the word of God and will always speak good and positive things. This will not only yield its fruit of healing and health in its season, but as we keep on doing it faithfully as God’s ambassadors, it will bring health to others who hear it. “…A faithful ambassador brings health” (Prov 13:17). And the word ‘perverse’ means obstinately ‘doing something different from what is reasonable or required’. So it is normal to speak good and positive things. And God expects us to do it faithfully. In other words it is required. Satan will try his best not to let you speak good and positive things in your life. For example if some one says to you that they are sick, ask them how are they now doing and say to them that they will soon get well because it is God’s will for every one to stay healthy! Then pray to God for them to get healed! I promise you they will! We must keep on speaking good, positive, wholesome healing words in faith, to ourselves and others by our trust [conviction based on the word of God] in God, God will make sure that we will be blessed with good health. Not only this will strengthen your body, but it will also strengthen your spirit man and both will become strong.
Unbelief in the mind will not get in to the heart [spirit man] if it does not pass through the mouth (Joshua 6:10, 16; Num 13:30, 32)!
The Bible says, “The spirit of man will sustain him in sickness, but who can bear a broken spirit?” (Prov 18:14). The answer is only God can bear a broken spirit and will draw near to that particular sick man as he begins drawing near to God by asking the help of God because of hopelessness (James 4:8), then He will always infuse faith to that sick person by pointing to His word (Ps 51:17; Isaiah 66:2). Because of this reason that man will get strong in the spirit and it will sustain him in sickness.
To sustain is to support, keep alive, keep going continuously, undergo, endure, and uphold the validity of. A strong spirit man will sustain us and keep us alive even if sickness attacks us; above all God is faithful to fulfill His word. So as we trust Him more and more, by confessing to ourselves and others “My God is my sustainer”. God will make sure to heal us and He will! Hallelujah!
God’s word has creative power. By confessing God’s word, we are fellowshipping with God and it will increase our faith. God’s word not only builds our spirit man and sustains our body; it will become sweet to our soul bringing in the joy and the gladness of God from heaven. ”Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones” (Prov 16:24). David also says and confesses that by saying, “How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!” (Ps 119:103). There is a taste in our spirit man and soul which only God’s word can satisfy.
When we keep on speaking and confessing God’s word, we will develop a taste for it. Then not only to the mouth of the spirit man inside us will it become sweet, but to our soul [mind, will and emotion] also it will become very sweet. And it will become health to our bones. Bones because bone produces marrow and marrow produces blood and more the blood and the purer it is, it will bring health and immunity against all sicknesses and diseases. This shows and proves that our spirit, soul and body will be in perfect health, if only we trust his word and speak His word always.
The Greatest Commandment
1 “Now this is the commandment, and these are the statutes and judgments which the LORD your God has commanded to teach you, that you may observe them in the land which you are crossing over to possess, 2 that you may fear the LORD your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, you and your son and your grandson, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged. 3 Therefore hear, O Israel, and be careful to observe it, that it may be well with you, and that you may multiply greatly as the LORD God of your fathers has promised you—‘a land flowing with milk and honey.’4 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one! 5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. 6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates (Deuteronomy 6:1-6).
When we teach the word of God and continually talk of it in our homes and in our offices, there is a threefold blessing that accompanies our observance of these things,
(i) Because of Good Health we will prolong our days.
(ii) All will be well [wellness in our family, offices, finances and with our community life] with us in every area of our life.
(iii) Our things [material, financial and Spiritual things] will not just be added but multiplied greatly because of God’s blessing over our life.
Immunity to ward of all virus and bacteria will become a part of our body system. It cannot overcome us because “He who is in us [the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 6:19)] is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4). The Word is Life. This is the abundant life that Jesus spoke about! I Praise Jesus!
