Is It Right To Claim Directly Your Healing Or Blessing In Jesus Name?
Question : Hello, Praise the Lord. One of the preachers had posted this in Facebook, "Lets stop praying for healing any person. People believe that if they pray to God, then God will move and heal the people, bless the people. God is not going to heal or bless anyone now because He has already done it 2000 years back on the cross.
He has healed every person He is ever going to heal, blessed every person He is ever going to bless. Isa 53:5 says, by His stripes we 'were' healed. Were meaning past tense. He has done everything He is ever going to do. Its our job now to believe in His finished work, stand on our Faith and command Healing and Blessing to be manifested! How? By speaking the Word of God. You need to say our boldly, By His stripes we were healed, so we are healed, we believe it and stand on it. Healing is instantly manifested. The same is for blessing. 2 Cor 8:9 "Jesus became poor so that through His poverty I might become rich." So boldly confess, 'I'm rich, prosperous because Christ became poor for me. Success and riches is mine in Jesus name. Stand on it and receive it.
No amount of begging and crying moves God. God is not moved by your performance. How much you cry, how much you wail doesn't bother Him. The only thing that pleases God is your Faith, not your tears, moaning, screaming. Heb 11:6, Without Faith it is impossible to please God. You want God to move? Have Faith on His finished work and see His power manifest. Stop begging and pleading God for anything. He wants to see you blessed more than you want to see yourself blessed. You are a son, a daughter, not a slave! Blessings." I am confused. Is it right to claim your blessings directly in name of Jesus as given in the post or we must ASK Jesus for it. Please help me with the same.
Answer : Praise the Lord! I know that a move and a movement of God sometimes becomes a theology to stick on rather than stick on to the Word of God and enjoy the unraveling of truth that God brings in to every new move of God. To say 'Lets stop praying...' is in direct contradiction to the Word of God in the Bible. Even though faith pleases God, only prayer will move God's hand finally. In other words, "the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And even if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven." (James 5:15). Note it is not just faith, or not even just prayer, but rather the prayer of faith which combines both brings result whether physical or spiritual. God has not told us to have faith in our faith and speak things in to existence, real faith is to pray to God with confidence in His Word that assures us that God is always good and He is benevolent to provide our needs, and not our greed. Hear what the Bible says, "13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord." (James 5:13-14). Here in the above verses it clearly reveals, if any one is suffering for any reason, the answer is prayer to God the Father who is not only good for a period of time as we feel but always good enough and perfect as He is always to heal and restore them again when they believe Him and seek a positive result through prayer (Jam 1:17). When we are happy and joyful as we receive God's answer to our prayers (John 16:24), then we should sing and gratefully praise Him for all His marvelous works (Isa 12:5; Psa 98:1; 105:2). If we do not have enough faith, we should go to the elders of the Church and be anointed with oil in Jesus name by a higher level of faith, where because of their already stored faith within them (Acts 6:2, 4), they will be able to pray a prayer of faith like Elijah did in the Old Testament to declare by faith what they hear from God and bring healing, blessing and miracles as they come to know Him personally in a deeper intimate fellowship with Him (James 5:16, 17, 18; 1 John 1:3-4; Mark 16:20). As we grow in faith, it is not by what we receive that we will be joyful but rather because of having fellowship with God the Father and our Lord Jesus we will be. Thus Faith and Prayer cannot be separated in the life of a Christian who follows Jesus.
What Jesus did for our salvation, healing, blessing, etc...2000 years ago is a means through which God shows Himself righteous and just, and also at the same time becomes the justifier of those who have faith in Jesus (Rom 3:26). But do we realize that to God in His mind actually Jesus was the Lamb slain even before the foundation of the world (Rev 13:8)? That doesn't mean that we can say that healing was done before the foundation of the world and take for granted that we need not pray but just speak in faith and it will happen? These are erroneous thinking of the new age that has crept in to the Church, where talk is emphasized more than the importance of walk with God. Any positive confession and talk without the anointing is just a empty clanging symbols that makes noise without rhythm. The Old Testament saints looked forward to the Cross in faith, we look backward to what Jesus did for us in faith (Isa 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24). Yes the finished work of the Jesus on the Cross is a fact that cannot be changed, but that should not give us the self-confidence to presumptuously say, 'He has healed every person He is ever going to heal, blessed every person He is ever going to bless.' In other words, many people who act by the gift of faith and gifts of healing, cannot heal at will because it is a gift that the Holy Spirit operates in them (1 Cor 12:9-10, 11). If they are not careful enough, they will move in to presumption and will say that God is always willing to do when we command by faith, forgetting that what they do is by moving in the gift of God and not by natural faith. That is why many times they fail to heal when people expect the most out of them and therefore they fail them, but God never fails but He proves that his instruments cannot fail only as long as they trust in His unfailing mercies, as they move in presumption they totally forget that they are not doing it, but it is God who is doing through them according to His will (1 Cor 12:6). God is not a genie to give people according to the command of their whims and fancies that they do from the Word of God, God is not their servant to oblige and fulfill His Word, but rather they are to Him and so they are expected to obey His Word. They are not a father to God, but rather God is their Father who has the authority over them. God is not the heir to obey them, but rather they are his sons and daughters who are expected to act like Him when He wants, where He wants and how He wants because He is sovereign over them.
When somebody confesses and commands God to do things, this is not real faith but rather it is presumption. Real faith comes in to us by developing the art of hearing the voice of God within our spirit man and acting according to it which will make things happen supernaturally (Rom 10:17). This art of hearing God's voice within us comes to us by hearing the Word of God from the Bible more and more, and praying according to His will which we will find through it (Isa 55:11; 1 John 3:22; 5:14-15). Once we allow the Spirit of God within us to control our spirit and to pray according to God's will through His Word (Psa 1:2-3; Rom 8:26-27), automatically we have the confidence we will have everything we pray for (John 11:41-42). So it is our job not only to say that we depend on the finished work of Jesus, but to pray to God enough to receive faith by obedience to Jesus' commands through the Word of God in our daily life (Luke 17:5; 10; Matt 21:22, 21; John 15:7; 14:15), and then after hearing His voice within our spirit-man in our day to day life, we should speak it by faith against situations of mountain size impossibilities that stand against us to see it upturned by God (Mark 11:22, 23-24). In other words, if God is pleased with us to see us in His will based on our thinking working according to His Word which is His written will for our lives and others, all things we speak will be done for us through our prayer to Him but yet not without it as it is the set spiritual principle since creation of all things (Matt 7:7-8). Often, the prayer we do for growing in faith is in Jesus name to our Father in heaven (John 16:26-27, 23-24). But once we have the faith within us, we directly have the ability to speak against demonic situations that arise against us to hinder us from doing and walking in the will of God for our lives, all those things we should stand against them in faith to speak the Word of God against it in Jesus name and His authority which has been given to us in His name (Luke 10:19; Matt 28:18-20; Mark 16:17-18), and these prayers are directed to Jesus and He will defend against all these evil hindrances of curses of tongues that raises against us in our lives by manifesting His power to defend us (Isa 54:17; John 14:13-14; Matt 18:18-19, 20). When we have faith, we then break the curses against our lives by standing on the Word of God which we have personalized, that which God has spoken to us within our spirit-man by the quickening of the Spirit (Psa 119:107, YLT).
So according to 1 Peter 2:24, it is good to live by faith that "we were healed by the stripes of Jesus," but unless a personal word we receive within our spirit-man from God or through other genuine God sent instruments of men and woman of God who speak by hearing God (Acts 2:18), we cannot personalize it as being healed already. That is presumption and nothing but presumption only. All we can do is to pray to God for faith and once in faith we can stand on the Word and speak it over the situations of our lives until we really get healed over a period of time or see instant miraculous answers sometimes as God wills.
2 Cor 8:9 "Jesus became poor so that through His poverty I might become rich," is a word that is misused often, in the context of giving to God Paul the apostle speaks to the Corinthians to freely give materially for the Judean Saints who were going through a tough time economically, so that God can give them all they need and even more than that so that every good work that God has planned in their lives might be fulfilled according to His plan (1 Cor 8:8-15, 16-24). In other words, Paul was telling the Corinthian church that Jesus has become poor by humbling and giving Himself to God as a bond slave to do His will, so that at the end of His life, He by the fulfillment of God's plan and purpose has made us spiritually rich children of God through His name (Eph 1:3-4, 5; John 1:12). In other words, Paul was saying, Jesus the Son of God who was already rich spiritually became the son of Man by humbling himself (Php 2:5-8), so that we the poor and hopeless sinners among the sons of Men could become spiritually rich as the Sons of God through Him (Gal 3:26). This verse does not tell us to command blessing and confess, 'I'm rich, prosperous because Christ became poor for me. Success and riches is mine in Jesus name. Stand on it and receive it,' but rather it teaches us to give to God our lives and material riches unconditionally just like Jesus did, so that we as the children of God could be used as a channel of blessing to someone in need for the purpose of God to be fulfilled in our lives, and also through us the blessing of God might reach from God to others who are in need (2 Cor 9:6-7, 8-9). The principle of God's kingdom economy operates by giving, the world operates by getting things and being more and more stingy to save even at the cost of others who starve. Paul says here, God is able to give us financially and bless us spiritually, when we give our lives and finance to God and His Kingdom work to be done more and more on earth (Prov 11:24; Eph 3:20; Matt 6:33). God has not promised to supply our greed or love of money which never satisfies us spiritually as it is a spiritual disease that destroys our soul by taking us away from God and His purpose for our lives (1 Tim 6:10; 1 Peter 2:1; Eccl 5:10; Luke 16:13), but our heavenly Father God has promised to supply all our needs, and also have asked us to pray for our needs so that His purpose for our lives could be fulfilled according to His spiritual riches which He has already supplied to us in Christ Jesus (Php 4:19; Matt 6:9, 10-11). So confession of Bible promises is not to be done to make us more covetous for earthly gain, but it should rather be done to set our heart in faith for heavenly and eternal gain that comes out of it (Matt 6:19-21). Therefore, let us always be content with what we have with us and by knowing that God is with and for us and not against us (1 Tim 6:6; Heb 13:5; Matt 1:23; John 14:16-17; Rom 8:31), let us seek more and more of His Presence to have faith for God's vision to be fulfilled in our lives by receiving all His supernatural blessings in all areas of our lives (Psa 105:4; 27:8; 1 Chron 16:11; 3 John 1:2; Prov 29:18). Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law. A true life of enjoyment is the one which is always joyful because of staying within His Presence (Psa 16:11), and such life lived in humility and the fear of the Lord Jesus Christ will automatically bring wealth, honor, and life abundant of righteousness, joy and peace (Prov 22:4; Rom 14:17; 1 Kings 3:3, 5-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15; 9:3, 4-5).
God never forsakes our cry (Psa 34:6), but He collects our tears preciously in a bottle (Psa 56:8), he will not despise or detest the suffering of the oppressed; he will not ignore him who fears the Lord; when he cries out to him, he responds (Psa 22:24), and it is also not wrong to beg and plead the Lord in our distress as even apostle Paul Himself did all those things to the Lord when a messenger of Satan beat him up (2 Cor 12:7-8), yet God said that His strength was enough for Paul to carry on in faith and see great victories achieved by God working through him (2 Cor 12:9-10). Faith is neither the absence of problem, nor confession of healing and blessing promises that eradicates it, but rather it is the confidence in God and His unchanging promises that moves a believer in prayer to God through the problems of life that actually brings victories through it and completes the faith with an sure answer and joyful living through it. Through it all we must look unto Jesus who will stand faithfully with us and brings us to high places of victorious and abundant living of heaven on earth itself through strengthening our faith (John 10:10; Heb 12:2). So the crux of the matter is, it is neither right to claim our blessings directly in the name of Jesus as given in the post or seek for blessing by ASKING Jesus for it, but rather as we have seen above, if we seek Jesus who is our Shepherd and His Presence daily after accepting Him as our Lord and Savior to have received forgiveness of all our sins as we are all sinners by nature, then goodness and mercies will follow us and we do not have to go after blessings but anointed blessings will surely and automatically come after us more and more till it overtakes us in all areas of our lives (Psa 23:1, 5, 6; Deut 28:1-2, 3-14; 1:11). In other words, asking in prayer to our Heavenly Father for faith and provision, coming against mountain size of obstacles and curses in Jesus name by praying to Jesus, crying out to God when in distress (Psa 18:6), pleading to the Lord to receive relief or equivalent grace to overcome when sins or pain or sickness tries to weaken our faith (2 Cor 12:9, 10), asking God for financial provision to fulfill the dreams and desires God has put within us to glorify and extend His kingdom, releasing what we have for higher level of giving to the spreading of the gospel and the Church, for greater blessing to be exercised by faith to help those in need, etc in our daily life is a path way and tests we have to cross to achieve and remain in higher level of faith and blessing in our earthly spiritual lives. So the crux of the matter is, it is neither right to claim our blessings directly in the name of Jesus as given in the post or seek for blessing by ASKING Jesus for it, but rather as we have seen above, if we seek Jesus who is our Shepherd and His Presence daily after accepting Him as our Lord and Savior to have received forgiveness of all our sins as we are all sinners by nature, then goodness and mercies will follow us and we do not have to go after blessings but anointed blessings will surely and automatically come after us more and more till it overtakes us in all areas of our lives (Psa 23:1, 5, 6; Deut 28:1-2, 3-14; 1:11). In other words, asking in prayer to our Heavenly Father for faith and provision, coming against mountain size of obstacles and curses in Jesus name by praying to Jesus, crying out to God when in distress (Psa 18:6), pleading to the Lord to receive relief or equivalent grace to overcome when sins or pain or sickness tries to weaken our faith (2 Cor 12:9, 10), asking God for financial provision to fulfill the dreams and desires God has put within us to glorify and extend His kingdom, releasing what we have for higher level of giving to the spreading of the gospel and the Church, for greater blessing to be exercised by faith to help those in need, etc in our daily life is a path way and tests we have to cross to achieve and remain in higher level of faith and blessing in our earthly spiritual lives.
