Does Anointing Received Through Others Carry Great Power And Authority Like Receiving It Directly From God?

God Anointing Us Directly Or Through Some Other Person Carries The Same Value And Power, Or Not?

Question : God himself anointed Moses, and Paul was anointed by Ananias the disciple who was sent by God, are these two anointing the same or different in their value, do they carry the same power and authority.

Answer :
Greetings in Jesus wonderful name!

I believe that the anointing of God is the liquid gold that is always the same in value because it is the ability of God given to humans that does the work of God in the same way God works when he works by Himself. In other words, God does not work without man, man cannot work without God. So God puts His ability to those human vessels that are weak and available and makes them do exactly what He does supernaturally through the mighty hand of the Spirit of God.

The anointing oil is only symbolic of the real anointing that God pours upon a person after the anointing oil is smeared upon them symbolically by His messengers. God told His people not to use even the symbolic anointing oil for the flesh of any other person other than those who are told by Him to anoint so that His purpose will be fulfilled by the supernatural ability given to them. The anointing is very Holy to the Lord and so it must be holy to us who are His people (Exo 30:25, 32-33). The same thing God told in the New Testament through Paul not to ordain and anoint anybody for any ministry office unless God tells the leaders to do it so that they will not be responsible for other people's sins (1 Tim 5:22). In other words, if anointing is done carelessly, it is like being irresponsible with the Power of God that He has given to them for the holy use and fulfillment of His Holy purpose.

God Himself anointed Moses, when He gave His call to do His work, here is the verse, "12 Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say. ...15 Now you shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth. And I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and I will teach you what you shall do. 16 So he shall be your spokesman to the people. And he himself shall be as a mouth for you, and you shall be to him as God. 17 And you shall take this rod in your hand, with which you shall do the signs." (Exo 4:12, 15-17). Whenever God speaks and assigns a person with a supernatural ability to do a work that cannot be done with one's natural ability, the transfer of anointing happens after that. So we can say that Moses was given the anointing directly from God during this assignment from God and that is why God says, "I will be with you mouth and teach you what you shall say", in other words God was not saying to Moses I will reveal to you what you must say, but rather He was telling that what ever words Moses speaks with the anointing will carry the same power of God behind it as though God has directly spoken through His own mouth. And when Moses speaks to Aaron his brother the Word God speaks through him, He will become like God to him because every word Moses tells Aaron to do, when it is said or done by him it will carry the same Power of God behind it to fulfill the Word as though God has spoken from his own mouth. What a marvelous anointing! When the rod in the hand of Moses was anointed, it carried the power of God within it to do supernatural work of signs through it.

Now Paul may be anointed by Ananias the disciple, but who directed Paul to meet him, it was none other than the Lord God Jesus Christ who met Paul in a supernatural vision. Once Paul heard the voice of Jesus, he trembled and was astonished, and then said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?” Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”" (Acts 9:6). Once Paul obeyed the voice of God, he was aligning his own life within the will of God to become the recipient of the great anointing of God. Then we see Ananias being sent by Jesus to Saul to anoint him. So "17 ... Ananias went his way and entered the house; and laying his hands on him he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came, has sent me that you may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 9:17). Here is the transfer of anointing that happened to Paul, which immediately started working powerfully through him, and people were astonished to see the result of it through His supernatural preaching and apologetic (Acts 9:20-22).

So we can come to conclude that the working of the anointing whether received through any messenger of God or from God Himself directly will have the same effect, as the ability of God that is transferred with the anointing remains the same. It is not the quality of the anointing that makes difference in the lives and ministries of people, but the quantity of the anointing that makes the main difference in the life and ministry of people (John 3:34; Heb 1:9). The more the quantity of anointing, the more heaven will work with that human who carries the anointing, to bring heaven to earth and supersede the natural realm through it supernaturally to fulfill God's purpose on earth (2 Kings 2:9-10, 11-12, 14-15).

A Double Portion of the Spirit quantity of Elijah caused double the quantity of major miracles in the ministry of Elisha. Elijah had 14 might earth shaking miracles like 1) Causing the rain to cease for 3 1/2 years (1Ki 17:1), 2) Being fed by the ravens (1Ki 17:4), 3) Miracle of the barrel of meal and cruse of oil (1Ki 17:14), 4) Resurrection of the widow's son (1Ki 17:22), 5) Calling of fire from heaven on the altar (1Ki 18:38), 6) Causing it to rain (1Ki 18:45), 7) Prophecy that Ahab's sons would all be destroyed (1Ki 21:22), 8) Prophecy that Jezebel would be eaten by dogs (1Ki 21:23), 9) Prophecy that Ahaziah would die of his illness (2Ki 1:4), 10) Calling fire from heaven upon the first 50 soldiers (2Ki 1:10), 11) Calling fire from heaven upon the second 50 soldiers (2Ki 1:12), 12) Parting of the Jordan (2Ki 2:8), 13) Prophecy that Elisha should have a double portion of his spirit (2Ki 2:10) and 14) Being caught up to heaven in a whirlwind (2Ki 2:11).

Elisha with the double portion of the anointing of Elijah, caused nearly 28 earth shaking miracles like 1) Parting of the Jordan (2Ki 2:14), 2) Healing of the waters (2Ki 2:21), 3) Curse of the she bears (2Ki 2:24), 4) Filling of the valley with water (2Ki 3:17), 5) Deception of the Moabites with the valley of blood (2Ki 3:22), 6) Miracle of the vessels of oil (2Ki 4:4), 7) Prophecy that the Shunammite woman would have a son (2Ki 4:16), 8) Resurrection of the Shunammite's son (2Ki 4:34), 9) Healing of the gourds (2Ki 4:41), 10) Miracle of the bread (2Ki 4:43), 11) Healing of Naaman (2Ki 5:14), 12) Perception of Gehazi's transgression (2Ki 5:26), 13) Cursing Gehazi with leprosy (2Ki 5:27), 14) Floating of the axe head (2Ki 6:6), 15) Prophecy of the Syrian battle plans (2Ki 6:9), 16) Vision of the chariots (2Ki 6:17), 17) Smiting the Syrian army with blindness (2Ki 6:18), 18) Restoring the sight of the Syrian army (2Ki 6:20), 19) Prophecy of the end of the great famine (2Ki 7:1), 20) Prophecy that the scoffing nobleman would see, but not partake of, the abundance (2Ki 7:2), 21) Deception of the Syrians with the sound of chariots (2Ki 7:6), 22) Prophecy of the seven-year famine (2Ki 8:1), 23) Prophecy of Benhadad's untimely death (2Ki 8:10), 24) Prophecy of Hazael's cruelty to Israel (2Ki 8:12), 25) Prophecy that Jehu would smite the house of Ahab (2Ki 9:7), 26) Prophecy that Joash would smite the Syrians at Aphek (2Ki 13:17), 27) Prophecy that Joash would smite Syria thrice but not consume it (2Ki 13:19) and 28) Resurrection of the man touched by his bones (2Ki 13:21).

We know that Elijah was directly anointed by God as he came out of nowhere except the presence of God (1 Kings 17:1), but Elisha was only a servant of Elijah the prophet and was anointed by him when he threw his mantle upon Elisha, thus symbolically anointing him as a prophet in his place under the direction of God (1 Kings 19:16, 19). Yet we see double the number of miracles done by Elisha than his master Elijah, because by faith Elisha received double the anointing to do ministry of miracles. So whether we have received anointing directly from God or through a messenger of God, it doesn't matter as long as we hold greater quantity of anointing, the greater the number of miracles and the power of the ministry will be.

So I conclude again saying, the anointing whether received through God Himself directly or through His human messengers, has the same value to it or in other words the quality of the anointing remains the same. But the power and authority each one carries with the anointing depends upon the exercise of faith with which they hold greater quantity of anointing with them.

Much Blessings....
