Can A True Believer Be Caught In Homosexuality?

Prayer For Deliverance From Homosexuality

Question: Please pray for me, my walk with Jesus is little hard since I live in wickedness for about 7 years with Homosexual relationship. I want to turn my life to Jesus.

Answer: Greetings in Jesus wonderful name! I understand your shame within, that you are going through, at the same time the kind of fleshly bondage that is keeping you against the will of God to happen in your life (Rom 7:7-13).

Adam and Eve were the first person who were affected with this kind of shame as the Bible clearly portrays them of going through after their disobedience and sin which they did in rebellion to God's clear instruction to them (Gen 2:16-17), here is what happened to them, "Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths." (Genesis 3:7), in other words, the couple who were covered by the glory of God, suddenly realized that they were naked and wanted to make a cover for themselves with leaves which wither away over time, and will make them remain in that shame of nakedness. When God asked Adam about this incident here is how he replied, "I heard the sound of You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself." (Gen 3:10). Until then the same man who enjoyed God's presence as His child, suddenly was afraid of hearing the sound of God walking as he felt the nakedness within him that actually increased his feeling of nakedness outside where the glory left him, the result was, God was after Adam, but his child Adam wanted to run away from Him and hide because of the shame of sin, guilt and condemnation.

How many of God's children in our day to day lives feel the same? Do you not realize that Satan is playing the same game for thousands of years, and that he has got very skilled in his game plan to bring sin in to the lives of believers, make them feel ashamed of themselves, then finally make them run away from the God who runs after them? Yes the Bible describes Satan as the "accuser of the brethren," (Rev 12:10) before God day and night, and God will throw him down from that place just before the final three and half years of Daniel's 70th week of 7 years will get over in the prophetic calendar. But for now, Satan's sadistic pleasure is to see the children of God because of the shame of sin run away from the Father who loves them and wants them to be near to Him always (Luke 15:20, 22-24, 31). Have you ever realized while you want to run away from the Father God to fulfill the sin and shame, the Father God is standing on the top of the terrace and looking for you to repent and come to Him? Even though you have come to the Father in Christ Jesus at the beginning of your saved life, where He embraced you with sin and the way you are, why can't He do that now? One thing you must understand is that there are two sides to the coin that the Father God issues to us to use it for valid transaction spiritually, one side is "kindness or goodness" for those who come to him for mercy and grace because of his love (Heb 4:15-16) and the other side is "severity or sternness" of God for those who run away from Him in sin because of his justice (Rom 11:22), in other words, we can see predicament of God when He judges his only begotten Son Jesus who did no sin, yet was judged on behalf of us, the time at which He turned his face away from Him for a moment of time because of the sin placed by the Father over Him (Isa 54:7). The Bible reveals "In a surge of anger against sin, Father God hid His face from Jesus His only begotten Son for a moment" ...because God and sin cannot go together, as He hates sin because it destroys the relationship between Him and his children (Isa 54:8), here was the moment where Jesus cried out saying "My God, My God, Why have You forsaken Me?" (Matt 27:46) which broke the heart of the Father towards the Son and the Son towards the Father where the unbroken eternal fellowship between them was broken for a moment of time which was the only thing Jesus dreaded and wanted to avoid desperately even until the last moment (Matt 26:39; Luke 22:42). The pain of shame that we must carry in broken fellowship with God, Jesus carried it all at that point of time, so that we can choose to be free from this shame that leads us to sin and more sin in our lives to make us run farther and farther away from Father God in our lives.

The fact is, sin is still sin to the Father in the New Testament as much as in the Old Testament times (Lev 18:22; 20:13; Luke 17:28-30; Jude 7), but any of our distorted desires of sin is something that God hates equally. That is why the Bible says phrases like, "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Rom 3:23), "there is none righteous on earth who does good and never sins, no not even one" (Eccl 7:20), etc...that shows whether we have practiced only lustful fantasy to play it in safe mode, or with pornography in clear history mode, or even have accompanied it with masturbation, or adultery, or homosexuality, pride, covetousness, or murder, etc...it is all the same in the sight of God. I mean no sinner is better than the other sinner and no sin is better sin than the other sin. Sin in itself is a sign that we have turned away from God in shame to run away from him when in fact he has run to us in Christ Jesus to keep us always near to Him. So there cannot be any holier than thou attitude in a Christian, or even I am the worst sinner than all sinner [i.e. which is healthy and godly if it makes us run to God and not away from Him], look at him/her she is a mortal sinner, etc...which will make us rotten to the core in our spiritual life to make us useless in our spiritual potency to make a difference for Jesus Christ in our lives.

All of us sin to a certain degree, and all of us need the Savior's blood to cleanse us and keep us from sin's evil lure to enjoy its temporal pleasure which brings us in to the bondage of sin and death cycle (Heb 11:25; Rom 6:23), in entertaining these temporal pleasures of sin, we lose the eternal pleasures in the Presence of God that are at the right hand of God forevermore (Psa 16:11).

So what should we do to avoid breaking of fellowship with the Father and running away from Him in shame? There is a sin that does not lead to death, which is any sin that we have confessed to God and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus (1 John 5:16-17; 1:7, 9), but there is a sin that leads to sin and death cycle of bondage, sin that linger and reign in our lives because we offer certain parts of our body to it willingly and many times unwillingly, (Rom 6:12, 13, 16), of which it leads to sin and death, (i.e.) shame and separation from the beautiful Presence of the Father God, this is a sin of non repentance that leads to death (Heb 6:4-8). Such lifestyle will be directly dealt with the Father's chastisement for all of His truly legitimate children (Heb 12:7-8), which will step by step will make us lose confidence in the flesh (Php 3:3), and will make us live in the Spirit and walk in the Spirit for the Glory of God more and more in our lives (Gal 5:25, 16).

I do not in any way condone sin or make it less worse than it actually is, but rather I am saying, whatever sin, wherever we are staying, whatever degree to which we have come up by the grace of God, let us strive for perfection and not slide in to spiritual depravity by any subtle spiritual pride which is worse than any other sin (Php 3:12).

I also do not say, that a person who is walking in sin of attitudes, and that person who is indulging in bodily sin is at the same level, the more mature spiritual ones are that which will avoid bodily sins because the wages of it and its after effect is much more costlier to pay than just the sin of attitudes.

So knowing how hard that you have been feeling the shame, I tell you that you do not have to stay at the same place of sin-confession-sin cycle of defeat (1 John 1:7, 9; 2:1), or sin without repentance towards chastisement (Heb 12:8-9), or sin leading to physical death which is deliberately sinning against conscience and the voice of the Holy Spirit (1 John 5:16-17, 18-19; 1 Cor 11:27-32; Heb 6:4-9; 10:26-31; 1 Cor 10:1-5, 6-12), etc...rather, Christ has given an option of a way out for every temptation (1 Cor 10:13), believe it and now say, 'I am free because I am a new creation in Christ' (John 8:36; 2 Cor 5:17). We do not know when we will hit the point of no return to repentance which is hitting a point of extreme to God's patience which is not what God desires for all believers, but to live constantly in repentance towards God (Heb 3:7-8, 15; 4:7).

God wants you to hate the sin you have been involved in, today is the day of victory for you and the day of salvation from this sin of Homosexuality (2 Cor 6:2), tomorrow is never promised as an option, so desperately go to the Lord and say to Him that you want His grace to carry you up and keep you from sinning. If you are desperate and fail, God understands you and you will very soon be out of this habit of sin because God is looking on to you to know whether you are serious about what you are thinking and saying about sin, or are you just casually saying became of social taboo, shame, guilt or condemnation, all of which are not the right reasons for Him to deliver you except the one reason that you hate sin because it hurts God so much. If you love God, hate sin and you will grow more in love towards Him.

I know that you do not want to continue in this messy life that makes God sad, which also makes you flee from Him when He desires to run to you to embrace you every time you fall.

So pray this prayer of deliverance with me, "Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you making me as your child in Christ Jesus when I first believed and received my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in to my heart and life (John 1:12). I hate the sin which you hate, which is homosexuality that I have been involved in. Thank you today you are giving me salvation and freedom from this sin and all other sins which has bound me all these days in the past, I believe in the blood of the Cross of Jesus which has been shed as a redemption price to deliver me from all these evil habits of sin which I have been involved in the past (1 Peter 1:18-20). From today I choose the way out of this temptation in which I have fallen, and thus stand on top of it rather than find myself fallen by the way side (1 Cor 10:13). I choose consciously to overcome knowing that the one who is within me is greater than the one who tempts me from the outside (1 John 4:4). Thank you, that You who have started my salvation will finish it to the end in perfection as you have always desired for me (Matt 5:48; Php 2:12-13; 1:6). From today I have no confidence in my flesh, but in the Spirit who can lift me up in to that higher realm so that I can stand untouched by the evil of sin that desires for me to take its bait and get caught in its web of deceit, shame, condemnation and bondage. Thank you Jesus for your deliverance from today onward in your mighty name I pray. Amen!"

Since now you are free as you have prayed from you heart, keep your freedom by filling your mind with the Word of God and your heart with the Spirit of God through praying daily to our Heavenly Father. Set a quiet time apart with God daily and you will stay as a overcomer!

Much Love and Blessings....
