Do You Have Any Evidence For The Sure Scientific Death Regarding Jesus?
Answer: Greetings in Jesus wonderful name!
At the age of 33, Jesus was condemned to death. At that time Crucifixion was the "worst" death any one could go through in their lives.
Only the worst criminals were condemned to be crucified (John 18:30).
Yet it was more dreadful for Jesus, unlike other criminals condemned to death by Crucifixion as Jesus was nailed to the Cross by His hands and feet.
Each nail was 6 to 8 inches long. The nails were driven in to His wrist, not in to His palms as commonly portrayed. There is a tendon in the wrist that extends to the shoulder. The Roman soldiers and guards knew that when the nails were being hammered in to the wrist, that tendon would tear and break, forcing Jesus to use His hack muscles to support himself so that He could breath.
Both of His feet were nailed together. Thus He was forced to support Himself on the single fail that impaled His feet to the Cross. Jesus could not support Himself with His legs because of the pain. So He was forced to alternate between arching His back, then using his legs just to continue to breath.
Imagine the struggle, the pain, the suffering and the courage!
Jesus endured this reality for more than 3 hours (Matt 27:45-51). Yes over 3 hours! Can you imagine this kind of suffering?
A few minutes before He died, Jesus must have stopped bleeding, as he was pouring water from His wounds.
Apostle John set it out without any room for doubt about his death telling us that once a soldier pierced Jesus on his side to check whether he has died completely or not, “immediately there came out blood and water." (John 19:34-35). This is the evidence of one who saw it literally with his eyes-- true evidence, and he knows that what he says is true -- and he gives it so that "you may believe as well.”
The website "gotquestions.org" explains the 'Why did blood and water come out of Jesus' side when He was pierced?' beautifully in this way, "The Roman flogging or scourging that Jesus endured prior to being crucified normally consisted of 39 lashes, but could have been more (Mark 15:15; John 19:1). The whip that was used, called a flagrum, consisted of braided leather thongs with metal balls and pieces of sharp bone woven into or intertwined with the braids. The balls added weight to the whip, causing deep bruising and contusions as the victim was struck. The pieces of bone served to cut into the flesh. As the beating continued, the resulting cuts were so severe that the skeletal muscles, underlying veins, sinews, and bowels of victims were exposed. This beating was so severe that at times victims would not survive it in order to go on to be crucified.
Those who were flogged would often go into hypovolemic shock, a term that refers to low blood volume. In other words, the person would have lost so much blood he would go into shock. The results of this would be
1) The heart would race to pump blood that was not there.
2) The victim would collapse or faint due to low blood pressure.
3) The kidneys would shut down to preserve body fluids.
4) The person would experience extreme thirst as the body desired to replenish lost fluids.
There is evidence from Scripture that Jesus experienced hypovolemic shock as a result of being flogged. As Jesus carried His own cross to Golgotha (John 19:17), He collapsed, and a man named Simon was forced to either carry the cross or help Jesus carry the cross the rest of way to the hill (Matthew 27:32–33; Mark 15:21–22; Luke 23:26). This collapse indicates Jesus had low blood pressure. Another indicator that Jesus suffered from hypovolemic shock was that He declared He was thirsty as He hung on the cross (John 19:28), indicating His body’s desire to replenish fluids.
Prior to death, the sustained rapid heartbeat caused by hypovolemic shock also causes fluid to gather in the sack around the heart and around the lungs. This gathering of fluid in the membrane around the heart is called pericardial effusion, and the fluid gathering around the lungs is called pleural effusion. This explains why, after Jesus died and a Roman soldier thrust a spear through Jesus’ side, piercing both the lungs and the heart, blood and water came from His side just as John recorded in his Gospel (John 19:34)."
Thus the Medical evidence is that Our Lord was truly and completely dead, even though the spiritualized concept of this flow of blood and water at the same time symbolizes the Blood of Belief in Jesus Christ for salvation and the Baptism of Water for discipleship along with the rising up of believers from the old life to live in the new life of heaven that Jesus supplies now and hereafter.
From the common images we see usually the wounds to His hands and feet and even the spear wound to His side, but do we remember the many more wounds were made to his body. A hammer driving large nails through the wrists, the feet overlapped and a nail hammered through the arches, then a Roman guard piercing His side with a spear. And...before the nails and the spear, Jesus was whipped and beaten. The whipping was so severe that it tore the flesh from His body.
The beating so horrific that His face was torn and his beard ripped from His face. The crown of thorns (two to three inch thorns) cut deeply into His scalp. Most men would not have survived this torture.
He had no more blood to bleed out, only water poured from His wounds. The human adult body contains about 3.5 liters (just less than a gallon) of blood.
Jesus must have poured nearly all 3.5 liters of his blood; He had three nails hammered into His members; a crown of thorns on His head and, beyond that, a Roman soldier who stabbed a spear into His chest.
All these without mentioning the humiliation He passed after carrying His own cross for almost 2 kilometers, while the crowd spat in his face and threw stones (the cross beam was almost 30 kg of weight, to which His hands were nailed).
Jesus had to endure this experience, so that you may have free access to God.
So that your sins can be "washed" away. All of them past present and future, with no exception!
JESUS CHRIST DIED...FOR YOU! Say, "I Believe!".
For you, who now read this, do not just generally believe that He only died for others (like those who go to church or for pastors, bishops, etc).
He died for you and the worst of all sinners!
Accept the reality, the truth, that JESUS IS THE ONLY SALVATION FOR THE WORLD and that you are sinner who deserves hell fire without Jesus and His free gift of salvation that He gave you when you first believed in Him.
God has special plans for YOU! Share this good news with all your friends... about what God has done through Jesus Christ our Lord to save you and me. Really think about it!
Remember, every day God thinks of you (Psa 68:16).
Every hour God looks after you (2 Thess 3:3). |
Every minute God cares for you (1 Pet 5:7), because every second He loves you (Jer 31:3). The very reason Jesus was sent from heaven to earth is to show to us all that God loves us even to death, so that after death we will be with Him in friendship for eternity, and rise up very soon one of these days with our eternal bodies to glorify God and be with Him forever and ever for eternity ahead (John 3:16).
May God bless you!
If you believe Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, say it out loudly, "Yes, I love God. He is my source of life and my Savior. He keeps me alive and safe, both day and night. Without Him, I am nothing, but with Him "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me." (Phil 4:13). IN GOD I TRUST." Amen! Glory to God!
Praise the Lord!
Much Blessings....
