Will The Wicked Try To Take Over The New Jerusalem?
Question: Why will the twelve gates open until the wicked try and take over the new Jerusalem?
Answer: Greetings in Jesus wonderful name!
The gates of the temple in the New Jerusalem will not be shut at all because the wicked will be already judged during the White Throne Judgment of Jesus Christ and would have been put in the prison of Gehenna which burns with eternal fire forever and ever (Rev 20:14-15; 21:7-8, 23-27; Dan 12:2). They who rebelled against God, both the devil and his followers in humans who were unsaved will be put as a display for all the heaven to see, to reveal the Glory of God and also remind the saints the preciousness of the blood of Jesus Christ (Matt 25:30, 41, 46; Isa 66:24; Rev 20:13; 2 Pet 2:12, 17; Jude 1:7). Unsaved will have two death before them, one is physical death and the other will be eternal death which is everlasting death (Psa 89:48; Ezek 18:23; Dan 12:2; Matt 25:46; Rev 20:15). The unsaved humans who get resurrected during the White Throne judgment, will have a body that will be equal to the corpse of a dead man because they will crave for expression through it, but will be unable to do so without God's image of His likeness which was working in them to some lesser degree while they were alive on earth which they have lost with their physical death (Jam 3:9), just like the demons crave for expression through human and animal bodies on earth (Luke 16:23-24; Matt 12:43-45; Mark 1:24; 5:7-13).
The wicked will try and take over the literal earthly Jerusalem our present one at the end of the Millennium reign of the Church and the Lord Jesus, the earth which we have now in our midst which the saints of the Church will rule for a thousand years along with Jesus as our King from the New Earth and New Jerusalem, The New Jerusalem will be our command center and new earth will be our abode during the thousand years reign and even after that for eternity ahead (2 Pet 3:13). Praise the Lord! Once the unsaved sinners under the influence of Satan go up on the breath of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city of Jerusalem from where the saints and Jesus Christ has ruled the world for a thousand years on earth, fire will come down from God out of heaven and will devour them completely (Rev 20:9; 2 Pet 3:10-12).
Satan will be let loose on earth for a short while at the end of the Millennial rule of Jesus to prove the truth to all the saved saints and the angels of heaven, that human heart which has fallen in to rebellion against God through sin and that which chooses to live without Him independently will never change its evil character without getting saved by the blood of Jesus no matter how much earthly benefits and comfort and security God gives any amount of time, the depravity of fallen human nature of self, sin and Satan is a very lethal deception that brings death which is separation from God that only the saved saints of God could overcome for eternity ahead (Rev 20:4-6, 7-10, 11-15).
