Who Seeks First, God or Human?

Is Religion Man's Quest for God or God's Quest for Man?

Question : In your opinion, is religion Man's quest for God or God's quest for Man?

Answer : There is a God shaped vacuum in the heart of all humans. God put it there in his foreordained plan for humanity because God sought for fellowship with man
(Prov 30:4; 8:31; Isa 45:18). It doesn't mean that God is in need of fellowship, as God is in complete fellowship within Himself. In other words, because God is one in essence of His character but three in person, the love that they share among themselves creates a perfect union of absolute fellowship. This is the reason the Bible says that "God is love" (1 John 4:8). Love can be expressed always only when when there are minimum two or three persons within a unit (Prov 8:30; Gen 1:26-27; Eccl 4:9-12). If God is not a Trinity, there is no possibility of expressing love in Himself and therefore could have been in need of fellowship with man (1 John 4:8).

If God has not put that God-shaped vacuum within man, man in himself would have been like animals which has no sense of a living God who has created it and with whom fellowship can be establised to experience and live a eternal fullness of life
(Eccl 3:18-19). Many who agnostically say, how can we really say that man is created in the image of God if man could still be visibly seen unlike God, voluntarily forget that no animals, birds or any other created things can connect to God and seek Him like we humans seek for God. Because all humans have been born in sin and grow up with sin nature within one's self, we needed God to first draw near to us and make way to connect to Him before we could think of fellowshipping with Him.

Two thousand years ago, God sent His only begotten Son Jesus Christ in His quest to bring back the fellowship that was lost by voluntary transgression by our forefather Adam in the garden of Eden
(Rom 5:12; Tim 2:13-14). After sin came in to the world all humans lost their connection with the true God who has created them and went on blindly in their own way to fill that God-shaped vacuum by creating god's of their own imagination which cannot save them from sin (Rom 1:21, 23). The whole humanity went astray foolishly because of pride and got lost in to the godless trap of darkened minds, which was without the revelation of this true Creator God and His character of purity (Psa 115:4-8; Rom 1:22).

God said about our hopelessly lost condition in the following Scripture,
"All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all." (Isa 53:6). In this Scripture, God reveals that man who had been hopelessly lost in sin because of the sin nature within, God chose to lay all our sins on the incarnated sinless Jesus and therefore made a way for all of us to connect back to Him freely as though we do not have sin at all before His eyes. O what a priviledge!

Thus Jesus has been made by God as the one and only bridge between the sinning humanity and the perfectly Holy God to return back in friendship and fellowship with one another
(1 Tim 2:5-6). Jesus himself revealed this truth by saying, "For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost." (Luke 19:10). It was God who took the initiative first to seek after us who were lost in sin, this is why Jesus said, "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you." (John 15:16). Because it was God who started this salvation work from sin and fellowship with Him, as we co-operate with Him in awe, respect and a healthy fear of devotion, He will finish it until the day we die, see Him face to face and be with Him forever eternally (Php 2:12-13). Praise the Lord!

All the religions in the world says, 'Do, do....until you die,' but God who is our Creator says through Jesus,
"It is finished and done once and forever." (John 19:30). All you need to do now is, believe what I say through Jesus and have a wonderful time of fellowship with Me all the days of your life. The bottom line is, religion is not man's quest for God but it is God's quest for man. May God help us to have constant fellowship with Him and also help us bring others in to true fellowship with God (1 John 1:3-4).

Blessings...
