A Question To Think About?

Are All Religions the Roads Up the Same Mountain?

Question : How do you contest the statement "All religions are the roads up the same mountain"?

Answer : In the world there are a lot of different mountains. Each religion has a sacred mountain for the worship and exaltation of their god. If all the religions are the roads up the same mountain, then only one mountain in the whole world should have been the place of sacred worship.

Jehovah the God who claims the title
"I am who I am" which means 'The Eternal, who passes not away, the self existing one' (Exod 3:12, 14) says in His word that He has chosen mount Zion to be His dwelling place on earth because of His love and desire towards it (Psa 78:68; 132:13; Isa 8:18). God even calls it, "Zion My holy mountain" (Joel 3:17). Thus God the Creator has chosen only Jerusalem and its holy mountain as the only sacred place for worship ever since God instituted worship for all humans (John 4:20, 22; Gen 4:3-7, 14, 16).

What did man do? Men everywhere who wanted to silence their conscience and appease it, picked up for themselves their own mountains which they chose and made it to be sacred inorder to worship their god. People by rejecting God the Creator's idea to have one mountain as the sacred place of worship, they began to defile themselves and place idols in all mountain top's or under all trees by their own choice to worship them
(Ezek 20:28-29). When God saw that these people "23 ... changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. 24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen." (Rom 1:23-25). Men then continued to flock to mountains all over the world to worship god.

People wanted to worship god the way they wanted to worship. In other words, it is like saying to God, if you want to receive worship in my terms and conditions, I will give you or if you only want my worship in your terms and conditions, you will not receive it. But God who is sovereign ruler over all humans, He didn't like the idea of men who sacrificed on all the mountains to exalt themselves by their disobedience. Only obedience to God's voice always pleases God rather than any sacrifice man could do for God
(1 Sam 15:22; Isa 1:11-17; Psa 50:8-13).

The same idols of stone were replaced with doctrinal adherence and good works of man's choosing in many other religious tradition to worship the true god which they thought was real. But the true Creator
"God of all mankind" openly rejected such religious devotion of people who had zeal without the true knowledge of Him (Jer 32:27; Num 27:16; Prov 19:2; Rom 10:2; Hos 6:6). When people go through an outward form of worship without a real desire in their heart to please God, God called it as Hypocracy and such religious people as hypocrites (Mark 7:6). When people teach "as doctrines the precepts of men" and expect the real Creator God to respond, God says it is a complete vain or waste of time (Matt 15:7-9).

From this we can come to know that all religions have been created by human desire to worship God in the way they wanted it to be. One of the reason humans did not give up his religious life for generation after generation, century after century and millenium after millenium is because they wanted to silence their conscience which cries out that there is a God and that they should seek Him in their earthly life before the end of their earthly existence in order to fulfill His purpose for their lives
(Rom 1:18-22; Acts 17:26-27).

Thus at the end, the same God of all mankind sent His salvation from sin, sickness and death to all humans in Jesus and have from that time on, made all the hearts of His devotees who follow Jesus to be the temple in which a new spiritual ability had been given for them to descend and ascend the heavenly mountain of Zion in which He dwells
(Luke 3:6; 1 Cor 6:19; Heb 12:22-25; Psa 24:3; Psa 15:1).

Now at the present Church age we need no mountain of God to visit and worship as we ourselves have been made the temple of God. But very soon Jesus along with us who have believed in the Church age will rule the earth and will direct all people to worship only in the mountain of the Lord in Jerusalem, where the Tribulation saints will stand as priests to minister spiritually in the physical third temple that is to come and the priests of Zadok physically
(Zech 14:16-17; Rev 5:9-10; 20:6; Ezek 48:10-11).

Then once this Kingdom of God is set up by the saints on earth for a thousand years with Jesus as the
"King of kings" (Rev 19:16; Dan 7:27), then the Bible says that people in all the earth will say to one another, "..., “ Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem." (Isa 2:3; Mic 4:2).

So the one road to God in heaven has been revealed by Jesus once and for all time when He said,
"I am the way..." (John 14:6), which clearly reveals that there cannot be many roads to one true God of all mankind. Thus this statement "All religions are the roads up the same mountain" is a false one.

Blessings...
