When Will The Daniel's 70th Week Begin?
Answer : Here is what the Bible says, "24 “Seventy weeks are determined for your people and for your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sins, to make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy. 25 “Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the command to restore and build Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince, there shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublesome times. 26 “And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, and till the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week he shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, even until the consummation, which is determined, is poured out on the desolate.”" (Daniel 9:24-27, NKJV).
So from the above Scriptures , we know that you cannot add the whole of 70 weeks of Daniel in to your end time predictive calculation first of all as it is the total time until the desolation takes place in the third temple. Still we have not yet seen the third temple being built? So it cannot be correct. From the time of the going forth of the command to restore and to build Jerusalem to the time it will be completed it will take 49 years (Seven weeks) and again from that time to the arrival of Messiah the Prince Jesus in Jerusalem it will take again 434 years (Sixty-two weeks).
Written about 538 B.C., Daniel’s words were fulfilled in 70 AD fully, when the Roman armies of Titus destroyed Jerusalem. If approximately the beginning of the 490 years is around 457 BC, then 69 weeks or 483 years, takes us to the anointing of Messiah the Prince, at His baptism in 27 A.D. in the 15th year of the Roman emperor Tiberius (Luke 3:5).
End time Bible scholar and prophecy teacher Dr. David R. Reagan says, "The time span I am proposing from 457 B.C. to 27 A.D. is also supported by another amazing piece of evidence. Do you remember how Daniel divided the first 483 years into two periods of time, first 49 years and then 434 years? Why did he do that? Go back and re-read Daniel 9:25 and notice that he makes specific reference to the rebuilding of the city of Jerusalem. Did he divide the period into two parts to indicate that the rebuilding of the city would occupy the first 49 years?
In a recent booklet entitled "The Daniel Papers," a publication of the Radio Bible Class, the author, Herb Vander Lugt, notes: "According to Barnes and several other trustworthy Bible commentators, the historian Prideaux declared Nehemiah's last action in rebuilding the city occurred in the 15th year of the Persian ruler Darius Nothus (423 - 404 B.C.). His 15th year was the 49th year from the 457 B.C. decree. Josephus seems to support this idea in his remarks about the death of Nehemiah."
Now we know that any covenant regarding the temple building have not been made still, so the one final week cannot be touched in our calculation at all. Finally when we add seven and sixty two weeks together, it will come to sixty nine weeks. But there it all stopped when the Messiah at His first coming was cut off from Israel when the Jews rejected to accept Him as the Messiah and crucified on the Cross and was cut off for the sins of the whole world (Matt 27:24-26; Luke 23:37-38), a holy pause happened at that point of time. The one week which is actually 7 years are the only thing that is left for the third temple to be built and desecrated by the Antichrist after which Jesus will come again to this present earth to rule for thousand years (Dan 9:27). So adding and subtracting to find 2015 as some special date of the end time cannot be correct. But the labor pains of signs in the world with chaos and unrest are already underway and is increasing day by day, it is indeed God's megaphone of warning to announce that the Tribulation is surely going to come upon the whole world for its sinfulness.
The Bible clearly says that the 7 year period start with the confirmation of covenant by Antichrist with many for one week which is seven years, in which a agreement to build the temple of Israel will be agreed upon. In the first three and half years the Antichrist will gain the confidence of the Jews by helping them build up the temple in a very short time and do sacrifice for sin (Dan 9:27). At the middle of 7 years time, Anti-christ will break that covenant and will declare Himself as God through the help of the false prophet from Israel who will bring fire from heaven and declare Himself as the forerunner of Messiah in Israel (2 Thess 2:3-4; Rev 13:11, 13). By the way Jesus said that you will not know the day or the hour but He has never told the believers that they will not know the season, instead Jesus spoke about two seasons of end time which are very important for the end time believers (Matt 24:36, 32, 20). Also Apostle Paul told the believers that they know the season of darkness but that they should not sleep as like the unbelievers (1 Thess 5:1-6). Yes Jesus will come in the season He has described and we the Church will know it perfectly to be ready for Rapture if we have been watching and praying for Him to come (Luke 21:36). "As a thief in the night" (1 Thess 5:2) at an unknown time [i.e. Note : but not at an unknown season or month] Jesus will come to those who are watching for Him and then we will go up, give rewards to the Church, have a marriage supper and then we will all come back with Jesus (Rev 19:4-7, 9; Rev 11:15-16; 2 Cor 5:9-11). This shows that we need to know what Jesus and apostles really spoke about and also carefully watch for the coming of the Lord in which we will all be resurrected and raptured to New Jerusalem (John 14:2-4). Yes the first trumpet call is for the Church to be judged with reward, the last Trumpet is for the world to be judged with His final war and wrath (1 Thess 4:14-18; 1 Cor 15:51-54; Matt 24:29-31). So we can come to know the Daniel's 70th Week's Mid-point which is the Abomination Of Desolation once the covenant for Israel to build the third temple is made by Antichrist. The Daniel's 70th week will begin once God's appointed time for it comes to pass, and it is indeed coming closer and closer as we see the things for the building of the third temple is being readied in the nation of Israel.
Thanks and Blessings.....
