Do You Believe That The Blood Moon The Bible Points To Is Literal Which You Will See?
Question : For orange or yellow moon people say blood moon...but it's not blood in colour. Bible says blood moon. Did you see the blood moon? Or will it literally be a red blood moon or only will appear like that?
Answer : Greetings in Jesus wonderful name! Keith Cooley in his website says, "Have you ever wondered why
the moon is more orange or yellow in color when it first rises at night. This effect is caused by the atmosphere of the earth. The reason for the orange color is due to the scattering of light by the atmosphere. When the moon is near the horizon, the moonlight must pass through much more atmosphere than when the moon is directly overhead. By the time the moonlight reaches your eyes, the blue, green, and purple pieces of visible light have been scattered away by air molecules. That's why you only see yellow, orange, or red.
The moon can have an orange color at any time of the year. Sometimes the moon appears orange even when it's directly overhead. This occurs when there's a lot of dust, smoke, or pollution in the atmosphere. The size of those particles will determine the type of color you will see.
Look first at the white moon directly overhead. See the red part of the arrow pointing to the white moon? This red part of the arrow shows the part of the atmosphere we are looking through to see the moon. Now look at the orange moon just rising in the east. Look at the blue portion of the arrow pointing to the orange moon. See how much longer the blue line is than the red line. This shows that we are looking through about three times as much atmosphere at a rising or setting moon.
At times the moon might look red, orange or even blue. The moon appears to be certain colors during certain times of the year. For instance, the Harvest moon during the fall appears very large and orange. There are two reasons for this, the moon's path across the sky, and the climate of earth. During certain times of the year, the moon will rise and set at different angles. Sometimes the moon stays really low in the sky and never reaches an overhead position. The earth's atmosphere also goes through certain changes at certain times of the year.
In some months, the atmosphere has more dust particles than usual; in other months, the atmosphere contains a lot more cloud particles than usual. Extra particles in the atmosphere mean more scattering of light. In the fall, many farmers are harvesting their crops. Lots of dust from the soil of the crops gets disturbed. The dust floats into the atmosphere. At the same time, the moon is lower in the sky during the fall season. So if there's more dust in the sky and the moon is closer to the horizon, then what color will the moon be? Orange! That's where "Harvest Moon" gets its name."
The Blue Moon meanwhile is a term used by astronomers to describe two full moons rising in the same month.
With a title, "How to see the Super Blue Blood Moon in the sky?", we saw the scientists community watch the moon with keen interest during the present time yesterday.
It’s the first time a Super Blue Blood Moon will have been witnessed in 150 years since March 31, 1866. But how can you see it? Here’s what you need to know.
According to NASA, the January 31, 2018 full moon is the one you need to put in your diary.
There will be a Blue Moon, a rare occurrence every couple of years when two full moons fall within the same calendar month. Eclipse is an obscuring of the light from one celestial body by the passage of another between it and the observer or between it and its source of illumination. Solar eclipse is an eclipse in which the sun is obscured by the moon. Lunar eclipse is an eclipse in which the moon appears darkened as it passes into the earth's shadow.
The rare total eclipse which took place on Wednesday January 31, 2018 combining three lunar phenomenons: A supermoon, a blue moon and a blood moon.
Viewers can expect to see a blue moon – the second full moon in a calendar month – orbiting closer to the Earth than usual, making it seem up to 14 percent larger in the sky.
Super Moon is the phenomenon whereby the moon appears particularly large in the sky owing to the coincidence of its closest approach to the earth (the perigee) with a full (or new) moon.
If that wasn’t enough there will also be a total lunar eclipse, which is often described a blood moon because of they way the moon turns a gorgeous coppery red.
A total lunar eclipse occurs when the moon moves directly behind the Earth’s shadow, or umbra, meaning it cannot receive any light from the Sun.
The entire passage will take more than three hours, during which the moon will turn a coppery red as sunlight going through Earth's atmosphere bounces off its surface.
Dr Daniel Brown, an astronomy expert at Nottingham Trent University, has said that blood moon is actually a somewhat 'misleading' term for a lunar eclipse.
He said: “The term blood moon is actually quite misleading. The moon will become much darker and take on an ash-grey colour – there will be no extensive red colour.
“Calling it a blood moon is rather exaggerated; only after large volcanic eruptions would we expect a rusty red colour, which will not be the case this time.”
This particular Blue Moon will pass through Earth’s shadow giving some viewers a total lunar eclipse and as it does so, the moon will turn a reddish hue meaning it is also a Blood Moon. Blood Moon, the phenomenon whereby the moon in total eclipse appears reddish in color as it is illuminated by sunlight filtered and refracted by the earth's atmosphere, usually the ‘blood moon’ will last about an hour.
When the Bible says Blood Moon, it means what it says. I believe a literal blood red moon, "The sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day." (Acts 2:20). The day of the Lord which is the great and magnificent day is the day in which the Lord Jesus Christ will appear on earth to rule this earth for a thousand years (Rev 19:11-16, 19-21; 20:4-6; Zech 14:3-4, 5-6, 7, 9). The idea people have is that the sun’s light will be blocked and the moon will have a reddish appearance, like blood, but it is the opposite of what people think which usually is believed to be the natural appearance of a solar eclipse in which sun light will be blocked for a certain period of time or the lunar eclipse in which the moon light will look like it is red as in the natural occurrence we have seen above. Rather it is a supernatural occurrence of the sign of the Second Coming in which both sun and moon "shall be turned to" the described darkness and redness, as Jesus Himself has said that these occurrence will be a unprecedented first time unique occurrence which will be an indicator of the specific Second Coming in which God has set for the thousand years of Jesus reign to start with a bang on earth, in the glorious splendor of his restorative power of Jesus as the Creator over His whole creation (Acts 3:21; Col 1:19-20). Jesus Himself spoke specifically about these signs of heaven saying, "25 “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”" (Luke 21:25-28). So we know that these signs of heaven in the sun, moon and stars which will fall like fig shaken by the wind (Rev 6:13; Isa 34:4; Mark 13:25), will be sign of the Second Coming for the believers to persevere to the day and hour of the Second Coming, and at the same time the impending judgment of death for the unbeliever when Jesus comes (John 3:18-21; 2 Cor 2:15-16), and it is indeed a positive sign for all of the believers that Jesus will arrive to restore the heavens and the earth to rule it all for a thousand years of glorious reign for which we as believer has been waiting for (Tit 2:13-14).
So to determine the exact time in which the heavenly signs will start to occur, let us see the following Scripture which Jesus spoke about, "“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken." (Matt 24:29).
Again John the apostle spoke about the exact heavenly signs happening before the very end before "the day of the great wrath" (Rev 6:16-17), he says, "When he opened the sixth seal, I looked, and behold, there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth, the full moon became like blood, and the stars of the sky fell to the earth as the fig tree sheds its winter fruit when shaken by a gale. The sky vanished like a scroll that is being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place." (Revelation 6:12-14). All of the reference of these heavenly signs of darkness point to the one specific time of Armageddon where the heavenly army of Jesus and the earthly army of Antichrist will meet (Rev 16:10-11, 16, 18).
So from the above Scriptures we can see that the Scripture speaks about Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, before which the Blood Moon will appear. Exactly the blood Moon will appear after Tribulation and continue until the moment of the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus. The same time the darkness due to lack of light from the sun will baffle all humans in to thinking what fate is awaiting them and many will die of heart attacks during this time of great upheavel.
Much Blessings.... Have a wonderful time ahead in the Lord!
