Has Anybody Raised Himself From The Dead?

Seven Signs Of The Gospel Of John

By Abraham Israel

John the apostle in his epistle is the only person who specifically concentrates on the divine side of Jesus as the one who was God and is God before He ever became a human, and also emphasizes the truth that unless we come to believe that He is God, we cannot experience the divine life of God in us to inherit eternal life (John 8:24).

1. Who Turns Water into Wine? (John 2:1-11) - Jesus manifested His Glory as God and His disciples believed Him as God the Son.

2. Who Heals the Sick? (John 4:46-53) - Jesus does miracle and heals the sick to make us all believe his words that gives life, not just temporal but eternal life. Only God has the power to give eternal life, and the Son of God being God gives it freely to all who come to Him for refuge from sin, by believing His words of life
(John 6:68-69).

3. Who Heals on the Sabbath? (John 5:1-29) - Though religious seeking of God is also watched by God if it is sincere to answer people, Jesus wants people not just get healed physically through religious seeking without salvation of soul to again enter hell for their sins when they die, instead He wants them to come to Him to get a new nature of God and live for eternity ahead. Jesus introduces people to God personally which religion does not. Religion hates personal relationship of humans with God, because of the insecurity that people will not adhere their dogma if it is becomes personal. Religion holds the theory that God is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient, but practically all it does is to make people stay in the theory which makes them die spiritually instead of giving them life if they choose to stay there for long and get satisfied within its theory. Thus only God can give salvation and satisfaction in this life and in the life to come. Jesus wants all people to know that without coming to Jesus Christ and honoring Him for who He is as God the Son, none will have the hope of resurrection and its life bubbling within them. Sabbath was made for people to find Jesus, not just for Jesus to keep the law of it, which he doesn't need to, but actually He did as a perfect human for us to get saved from sin. Sabbath was made for man to be in intimacy with the Son of God as He is the Lord of Sabbath, but man was not made for Sabbath
(Mark 2:27-28).

4. Who Feeds the Multitude? (John 6:1-14) - Jesus can feed all humans physically because He is the Son of God who has the power to multiply loaves and fishes for the survival of all humans on earth. But just looking to Jesus to whet our physical appetite only will do us no good eternally and spiritually, unless and until we come to thirst and hunger for His spiritual food that becomes multiplied within us miraculously to feed the multitudes who are likewise hungry and thirsty just like ourselves were before we came to Jesus. We as believers if we choose to live in thankfulness and sacrifice what we have to God, automatically miracles of multiplication will happen where we will get both filled physically and also spiritually, which will overflow to many others to bless them all through our lives. We should not waste our physical and spiritual food, if people are already fed to the full and they go out without properly taking care of them which God has provided supernaturally. Always supernatural food of God will be preserved by Him supernaturally and it will need no natural refrigeration to preserve it. Jesus stays as a prophet to those who are satisfied when God whets their physical appetite, but for those who continue to search for Him to fill their spiritual appetite will experience Him as the Son of God
(Matt 16:15-17), and He will provide them supernatural food that will sustain their soul for eternity in faith.

5. Who Walks on Water? (John 6:16-24) - In life you will have storms to face, but if you have faith to face it all without fear, then you can walk on the very water that makes people drown to death in their life. If we receive Jesus in to the boat of this earthly body in which we are travelling on earth from place to place, Jesus will take us supernaturally to the destination which we are going, without our effort involved. All can reach heaven without their works involved through faith in the Son of God who died to forgive them of all their past, present and future sins
(Gal 2:20-21). The storms of life can do you no harm when you are saved by faith and as a result of it Jesus stays in your boat until you reach the heavenly destination which God has promised you and assured you through Jesus Christ Himself (John 14:1-4; Eph 2:8).

6. Who Heals the Blind? (John 9:1-12)

Apostle John says,
"1 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. 2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” 3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. 4 I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” 6 When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. 7 And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing." (John 9:1-7).

The truth of Jesus which is a message to the blind man is as well a message to us all humans who are blinded by sin, mud does not have life in itself unless the life giving saliva of the Son of God who is sent by God is mixed with it to receive a personal miracle of salvation from sin in our lives. Jesus said,
"The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life" (John 6:63), which means the words of the Son of God must be believed in order to find the miracle of salvation to see spiritual things as they are and not as we think it is, which is a lie of darkness projected to the blind by the world. Until and unless Jesus by His words of life chooses to heal our blindness caused by sin, we remain blind, there is no other way to get healed of our spiritual blindness in the whole world except through the power of Jesus. Pilgrimage, sacrifice, works of any kind, religiosity, etc ..cannot save us, unless Jesus steps in to heal our soul from the sickness of sin. Sin and sickness do come to us not because of personal sin, but rather because we are born in it and are lost completely in it through our forefather Adam's sin (Rom 3:23; 5:12), only Jesus can help us become healed from this disease of sin and help us overcome it from affecting our lives from the further ill-effects of sin for the rest of our lives.

Jesus wants us to realize that the effects of sin has come on all humans irrespective of what we have done or what our parents have done, because of the sin nature that comes in to all humans when we were born
(Psa 51:5). So a persons sin or his parents sin or generational curses are not the only reason that affects people physically and spiritually, but rather God has chosen and allowed sin in this world by his sovereign plan so that His supernatural works should be revealed through healing of physical body as well as through the spiritual healing of our heart and soul through the forgiveness for sins that God provides. Jesus worked by the light of God in His sovereign will to bring salvation to all mankind, but there are times when darkness of Satan will not allow anyone to work to shine the light of the good news of salvation from sickness and sins when people continue to reject the gospel to love the darkness in their personal lives. Jesus shone the light of God in the will of God when he was on earth (John 9:5). Now he wants us as His disciples to shine the light of God in the will of God through the gospel to the world around us now, as God gives us opportunity to work the work of Jesus who has sent us in to the world just as the Father in heaven had sent Him in to the world then (John 20:21; 17:18; Matt 28:18-20). Remember, the authority of God will manifest itself when someone is sent to the place of miracle in the will of God. Anointing will work with our obedience to the words of Jesus, not apart from it. That is why at the pool of Siloam is where salvation from sin and deliverance from sickness can be supernaturally experienced. Salvation from sin does not come because of adhering to a doctrine, but rather because of having an encounter with Jesus Christ the doctor of all healthy doctrines of God that brings restoration of life and healing to the soul sickness of sin. Thus this sign tells all blind sinners not just to stay comfortable in the darkness of sin bewailing about the sad state of their existence or become a hypocrite to act as though they are in the light when they are actually blinded by sin, but come to Jesus to believe and obey His words to receive salvation and the abundant life of victory of over sin which He provides for those who seek Him.

7. Who Raises the Dead? (John 11:1-44) - The same Jesus who is the Son of God is also the son of Man, who can understand all our troubles and sorrows as one among us, to help us all in our time of need
(Heb 4:15-16). One of the most moving statement in this sign that we see is that Jesus "wept" (John 11:35). This shows how much human Jesus is perfectly, even though he knew that the man Lazarus his friend will rise from the dead. Whoever lives and believes Jesus will never die, because Jesus will rise them up all in the resurrection of the just in the last day (John 11:24; 5:28-29). Even sickness unto death can be used for the Glory of God, when Jesus who is the resurrection and the life is present among them (John 11:25, 27). Jesus who loves us enough to open our spiritual eyes from the blindness of sin through giving us salvation miracle, is also able to make us live eternally through the miracle hope of the resurrection that He has given to us when we were saved (John 11:36-37). This sign of Lazarus rising from death of hopelessness and despair of human weaknesses, does teach us that death is just a name and the sting of death is sin, and the person who had the power of death was the devil (1 Cor 15:55-56; Rom 6:23; 2 Tim 1:10; Isa 25:8; Heb 2:14), but the name above all name is Jesus Christ who has defeated death and has given a living hope that we will not die but will rise again when He comes to take us all away to the place prepared for us in the new heaven and new earth (Php 2:9; John 14:1-4; 1 Pet 1:3; 2 Thess 1:7; 1 Thess 1:10; 4:16-18). Only the Son of God Jesus Christ who can loosen us from the throes of death due to sin and let us go in to the eternal life of living with God forever (John 11:44). When Jesus commands against our spiritual death, life is infused in to the spirit of a human to make him live forever as He is God forever and ever (John 11:43). It is the belief that He died for our sins that saves us, after salvation from sin it is our belief that we could likewise live like Jesus that make us live for Him, earn eternal reward and bring Him great glory on earth and in the time to come in eternity ahead (Rom 6:8, 10, 12; Eph 2:10; 1 Pet 2:21).

8. Who Raises Himself from the Dead?

No human could raise Himself from the dead till date. All faced death and nobody in the whole world whether it is Mohammed or Buddha or Ram Or Confucius or all the prophets in the Bible, could rise from the dead, except Jesus the Son of God who was raised by God which included Himself as the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit are one God but three in person
(Rom 6:4; Acts 2:32; John 10:18; Rom 8:11; 2:19, 21; 5:21-22). The fact that God raised up Jesus is also a sure witness to us that we too will be raised by God likewise in the future (1 Cor 6:14; 15:17-19, 13, 14, 15, 16). There is no reason why the great Son of God should become a son of man and go through such suffering on earth and die on the cross and then at last rise up from the dead, if not for those who believe him to rise up from the dead. Death scares all humans, because deep down all know that they are sinners (Rom 3:21), except Jesus who did no sin and had no sin, but died to set us free from sin which leads to death (1 Pet 2:22; 2 Cor 5:21; John 8:46; Heb 4:15). Jesus bypassed sin in the life of all who believe Him and is leading them to heaven after death, then raise them up again to reward them for the life they have lived for God gratefully for gifting them with eternal life (Heb 9:26-27; 2 Cor 5:9-11; 1 Cor 3:11-15).

When Jesus was on the earth, it is true he raised four people from the dead accounted physically but unaccounted might be more as it was a command which he taught his disciples to do likewise
(Matt 10:8; John 21:25). He raised the widow’s son in the village of Nain (Luke 7:15). He raised the 12-year-old daughter of Jairus, a ruler of the synagogue (Mark 5:42). He raised Lazarus, the brother of Mary and Martha in Bethany after he had been dead four days (John 11:44). Finally last but not the least he raised himself from the dead after he had been crucified, which is the very basis of all of our hope of resurrection (1 Cor 15:19). Even though now the power of death is abolished through the gospel (2 Tim 1:10; 1 Cor 15:1-2, 3-4, 16), the last enemy that will be destroyed is death when this very spirit will be thrown in to the lake of fire to be in it forever and ever, which will cause a second death to death itself (1 Cor 15:26; Rev 20:14). First death is appointment of justice for sin which causes judgment from God (Heb 9:27), second death is eternal death of separation from God forever which will include the instrument which caused death which is named as "death" (Rev 6:8; 20:14, 15; Isa 54:16; Exo 12:12-13; Rev 9:11; John 10:10). Satan is the instrument of death that the Lord has used independently under God from the time of creation (Job 1:12; 2:6, 7), but now has to be given permission by Christ to bring death to saints as He is the one who holds all authority over the heavens and the earth (Matt 28:18-20; Rev 1:18).

Glory to God, Jesus when He raised Himself from the dead, He not only raised Himself but also all the saints who had lived, and all the saints who will ever live until the end of the heavens and earth in the mind of God, because Jesus had no sin and did not sin, He could raise Himself which is no big thing. But taking the sins of all human before the eyes of God, He died, rose again from the dead, for whom did He die? On behalf of all the saints forever and ever for all eternity. So for whom does He live after He rose up from the grave? He lives for the saints and their blessings for eternity ahead
(Rom 8:31-34). That is why resurrection is the central pillar on which the whole Christian faith rests, without which all will collapse and cease to exist without the power of the living God and the power of resurrection acting through it (Php 3:10-11).

The song written by Bill and Gloria Gaither titled 'Because He Lives' is a true tribute to the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, here goes the Lyrics:

God sent His son, they called Him Jesus
He came to love, heal and forgive
He lived and died to buy my pardon
An empty grave is there to prove my savior lives

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow
Because He lives, all fear is gone
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living, just because He lives

How sweet to hold a newborn baby
And feel the pride and joy He gives
But greater still the calm assurance
This child can face uncertain day, because He lives

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow
Because He lives, all fear is gone
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living, just because He lives

And then one day, I'll cross the river
I'll fight life's final war with pain
And then, as death gives way to victory
I'll see…

Much Blessings....
