Re: Prayer Request

Is There No Way Two Prophets Could Lie About The Same Thing?

Question : My prayer request is for healing of a broken heart. I was told by two different prophets that the man I was dating was my husband.

After dating him for almost 4 years he broke up with me. I held on for so long because I felt like there is no way two prophets could lie about the same thing.

I have prayed everyday even all day for the last year and I fast several times a month. Praying and asking God to please heal my heart so I can move on. I really want to heal. I know I have a call to Ministry and I know I can't move forward holding on to the past. I often wonder if he would ever come back but I know I should be more foccussed on God. Please pray that My heart will heal and God will reveal to me where I need to be right now. I am desperate for another level in God and just in Life. Nothing else matters!!!!

Answer : God says in His word that,
"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." (Psa 147:3) and that "The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit." (Psa 34:18). So when you are seeking the Lord for healing, you are seeking a refuge in the right place for a shelter from the storm that has come your way. Just hold on to His promises and He will never fail you.

I do not recommend a spiritual person to date before marriage, because the word of God says,
"Do not stir up nor awaken love until it pleases." (Sos 2:7). When someone dates to find whether a person will fit to live with them the rest of their lives, they are already sharing the physical, emotional and spiritual intimacy that should have been shared within the boundary of a commited married life. Only when some one has commited their lives in marriage, they are ready to awaken love as much as they want to for the rest of their lives.

Most people who date for a long time without commitment actually lose the interest to love their spouse once they are married, because they feel that there is nothing more to share further and keep themselves excited in their relationship.

So I understand the scenario very well. But when you are telling that he broke up with you, it means that you both have not taken pains to cultivate a real selfless love of God within that relationship.

Yes it is right that God might have planned this person and could have told through men and woman of God about His plan, but that doesn't free you from the responsibility of fulfilling His plan through depeding on His strength and grace in your lives. God has a plan for each individual family, but it is the responsibility of the husband and wife to fulfill that plan through living a prayerful and godly life which will be pleasing in His sight
(1 Peter 3:7).

No believer should depend on the word of two or three prophets alone because the Bible says,
"Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge." (1 Cor 14:29). This shows that even when two or three prophets speak together, that doesn't mean that their word will be right all the time, but the responsility to judge the word to know what they say is right or wrong is given in to the hands of the receivers of the prophecy. To judge is to confirm from the Holy Spirit that the word of prophecy that has been given is a true one or not. In other words, every prophecy that comes should be a confirmation of what God has already spoken to us personally or else if it was something new, it should not be taken in as the word of the Lord immediately, instead it should be given back to the Lord in prayer and supplication to let His peace rule over our mind (Php 4:6-7). If we get no peace from the Lord, no matter how many prophecies have come to us, we should throw it out of our mind very soon without allowing it to bother us.

Above all, only it was in the Old Testament that when people wanted to know the will of God, He used prophets to guide them
(Amos 3:7; 8:12; Jer 23:28). But in the New Testament every believer in Christ Jesus is given the anointing of the Holy Spirit for personal guidance in their lives (1 John 2:20, 27). The Holy Spirit is the real prophet of God to a believer to reveal the will of God through quickening the word of God and thus declaring the voice of Jesus in their spirit-man (Rom 8:16; John 16:13-14; Rev 19:10).

It is not by feelings that a marriage is built, but it is built through faithfullness and commitment to each other in the sight of God
(Mal 2:14-15). The two or three witness that the Bible speaks about is not just the word of the prophet even though it can be one witness among the whole, but the real witness to each believer is the word of God along with the inner assurance of the Holy Spirit (2 Cor 13:1; Heb 13:7; 1 Thess 1:5; Acts 15:28; 16:6; 18:5).

A woman's first call in ministry is to build a home for the Lord and raise godly children for the glory of God
(1 Tim 2:11, 15; 5:14; Mal 2:15). Then once a woman is successful in building a godly home, then she can think about ministering to other younger women and the Church (Titus 2:3-4). So I suggest that you should try to get reconciled with your husband or else stay alone till you get reconciled (1 Cor 7:10-11). As you both are believers in the Lord, you cannot separate yourself in divorce unless there is a proof of infidelity that has happened in your married life (Matt 19:9).

You cannot release yourself from your past if you are already within a covenant in the sight of God
(Mark 10:9). Yes you are right, focus on God, but at the same time pray that the Lord might help you to get reconciled with your husband (Rom 12:18-19). The Lord wants you to walk in the way He has already revealed in the Bible and not seek for some other way.

You can depend on God to help you get in to another level spiritually when you take care of yourself to walk in His revealed will that He has already given to you. I will really be praying for your life that it might be blessed to become a great blessing to many in the coming days.

Much Blessings.....
