Has The River Nile In Egypt Ever Gone Dry?

When Will The Curse Upon The Nation Of Egypt Get Fulfilled?

Question : When will the prophet Ezekiel's 40 years desertion and uninhabitation curse upon the nation of Egypt in Ezekiel 29:11-13 will get fulfilled? Or has it already got fulfilled in the past.

Answer : According to the recorded History, until now the country of Egypt has never got deserted and uninhabited because the backbone of livelihood and economy in which the whole country of Egypt depends upon for survival, is undeniably the Nile river which is also the longest river in the whole world that has never gone dry until now.

The prophet Ezekiel's 40 years desertion and uninhabitation curse is as follows,
"11 Neither foot of man shall pass through it nor foot of beast pass through it, and it shall be uninhabited forty years. 12 I will make the land of Egypt desolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate; and among the cities that are laid waste, her cities shall be desolate forty years; and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them throughout the countries.” 13 ‘Yet, thus says the Lord GOD: “At the end of forty years I will gather the Egyptians from the peoples among whom they were scattered." (Eze 29:11-13).

We know that the above prophecy has not yet happened at all because in the succeed verse of
Ezekiel 29:14-16, God has clearly promised that at the end of forty years He will bring the people of Egypt who will be scattered in various places around the world back to their own nation and then at that time they shall be a lowly kingdom, it will never exalt itself above the nations, they will be diminished by God in such a way that they will not rule over the nations anymore, no more will the nation of Israel trust or have confidence in the power of the nation of Egypt, but instead it will become a symbol to remind the nation of Israel of how vainly they have trusted in the power of Egypt to keep themselves safe.

Today in our times, Egypt is the largest Arab country and has played a central role in Middle Eastern politics in modern times. Egypt's teeming cities - and almost all agricultural activity - are concentrated along the banks of the Nile, and on the river's delta. Deserts occupy most of the country.

We can surely know that this above 40 years of desertion and uninhabitation will happen somewhere during the starting time of the Millennium rule of Jesus Christ because Zechariah the prophet prophesied saying,
"18 If the family of Egypt will not come up and enter in, they shall have no rain; they shall receive the plague with which the LORD strikes the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. 19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles." (Zech 14:18-19). This shows that Egypt as a nation will rebel against the world wide rule of theocracy which God will establish through Jesus Christ for a thousand years (Rev 20:4). In that day, all nations will have to send it ambassador's mandatorily and its citizens freely once a year to the city of Jerusalem which will be the city of the Great King Jesus, to worship the King Jesus and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles (Matt 5:35; Zech 14:16-19). God wants all nations to attend the festival of the Feast of Tabernacles to make them realize the spiritual meaning behind it, which conveys how God in His mercies have saved them from the Egyptian bondage of sin and the curse that follows all humanity in their natural state (Lev 23:42-43). The nations that have no faith in this Feast of Tabernacles will not come under the supernatural protection of the redeeming power of the blood of Jesus. Egypt will become a type lesson for all other nations during the whole Millennium, of how God's blessing cannot be received but only His curse, unless they come under the blood covenantal blessing of Jesus through whom God disperses all His blessings to all men equally who have faith in the God's forgiveness of sins and the cleansing of one's mind through the blood of Jesus which He provides freely (Heb 9:14, 22; Eph 1:7). Egypt being used as a type lesson for all the nations around the world is the very reason why it should happen somewhere very early within the first 50-100 years itself of the Millennium rule of Jesus on earth.

Also in the prophetic book of Isaiah the prophet, God has clearly expressed His desire and promised that once the 40 years curse over the nation of Egypt will be over,
" 23 In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian will come into Egypt and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians will serve with the Assyrians. 24 In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria—a blessing in the midst of the land, 25 whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, “Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance.”" (Isa 19:23-25). As described in the above Scriptures, Egypt will become a blessing to the whole of mankind along with Assyria and Israel after it will be judged by God for its rebellion against God's command. Even God goes on to call Egypt as His people after they learn the lesson to be the lowliest of all nations.

So according to the prophecy, Egypt will have tough times of destructive curses coming upon them somewhere during the starting time of the Millennium rule of Jesus because of their pride and rebellion, and then because of the good result of humility and good attitude that have been wrought in them through judgmental crisis, they will come to enjoy good and blessed times ahead under the hand of the Lord who will do this all. In the New Covenant time the lesson we can learn from this prophecy is this,
"5...“The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”? 6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “ God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” 7 Therefore submit to God [and His awesome plan for your life]. Resist the devil [by keeping your flesh and self at death through Jesus' power] and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you...10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up." (James 4:5-8, 10). The cure for worldliness is humility and this can be wrought in us only as we cooperate with God's plan to humble ourselves and lift His name up through our lives. Look for places where you are made nothing, resist it not but instead commit yourself in to the mighty hands of the Lord at such times, surely in God's time you will be made something unique and blessed vessel of honor by the power of the Lord acting through you. The way to go up with God is to go down with men.

Much Blessings....
