Question: So, one person I know was throwing tree limbs into a wood chipper, lost his balance on the edge of the truck, fell in suffering a grizzly death. I am unsure how this works for good behind the scenes. His widow and orphans didn't seem to think so. I am willing to read your explanation of how this works for good behind the scenes. I hope it isn't just hyperbole.
So accidents are not part of God's greater plan? Can accidents adversely affect God's greater plan? If God's greater plan included a particular medical researcher discovering a cure for cancer but 3 years prior to when he would make this discovery he is hit by a bus while crossing the street and killed. Does this mess up part of God's greater plan of one of the researcher's future cured patients becoming the next apostle Paul converting millions of heathens to Christianity? Or. would God intervene with the researcher's free will to cross the street by giving him a "Wait" sign instead of the "Walk" sign so the bus would still run the red light but not strike him? Or, did God create many worlds with a plan for each world. He may be killed by a bus in one or saved by the 'Wait" sign in another? Or, does he get a "do over" after being hit by the bus time after time until he decides not to cross the street on the "Walk" sign (see "Groundhog Day" for reference)? Or, does God just let it happen and change his plan to let someone else discover the cure for cancer so the next Apostle Paul can still convert millions?
Answer: Greetings to you in Jesus glorious eternal name!
It is not a hyper bole, because for every Saved humans, God has a greater plan to bless them for eternity for which he is now training and placing them for eternal Blessings. Accident happen sometimes because of carelessness and at other times because of unavoidable circumstances....yet God's greater plan will succeed. Amen. Cheer up and rejoice in the LORD always!
Are accidents part of God's original plan?
Accidents happen accidentally, but God who knows the end from the beginning (Isa 46:10), can keep those who are called until His purpose on earth gets fulfilled through them (Rom 9:28, 29-30). For example David the King of Israel had so much danger and accidents in his life both physically and spiritually, but through his own prayer and God's grace and mercy, God kept him from accidental death until his purpose for him could be fulfilled for his entire generation (Acts 13:36). In other words, accidents cannot happen until the time of God's purpose for a believers life get fulfilled. As for unbelievers, if they are not careful to be attentive and logically alert in their lives both physically and spiritually, the ability which God has given to every human, accident might happen for them to die suddenly.
We are living in a temporal world affected by sin, the sinless world to come is eternal for all believers. So we as believers in Christ Jesus are looking for that world to come where we will live together with God forever. In this world, all creations groans for a new world, all those who are believers too groan for this, but unbelievers are blaming God for the sins of the world, while it was Adam our forefather who was the cause of it. In other words, if we acknowledge our sins in humility to take responsibility for it, God gives us a cure for sin in Christ Jesus through salvation, which gives us a hope of future resurrection in a new world. Because of that hope, God has allowed death and sin to prevail until now, and helps those who believe in the new world to overcome it progressively more and more now in their lives, to prove to them of their soon coming sin, corruption and death free world of God and a awesome future awaiting for them.
God loves us too much to let us live without Jesus, that is why he has sent him so that we can be part of that new world of God, where righteous reigns, where death due to accidents are no more..., where love prevails over law...., where God will be with us forever and ever. We will have all our needs and wants met by God himself as He will be our shepherd and guide and friend forever. Hallelujah!
Much Blessings...
