IRAN IN THE END TIMES⁉️

ALL ABOUT THE IRAN WAR NOW AND ITS RELATIONSHIP TO ARMAGEDDON! - PART 2

In the Book of Revelation, Jesus uses the "unknown hour" warning to address the Seven Churches (located in modern-day Turkey, the gateway between the Roman and Persian worlds).

Two churches in particular receive warnings that mirror the "thief in the night" aphorism, emphasizing that spiritual complacency is as dangerous as a surprise military invasion.

1. Sardis: The Warning of the Thief

Jesus tells the church at Sardis: "If you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you" (Revelation 3:3).

The Persian Connection: This was a stinging historical "inside joke" for the people of Sardis. The city was famous for its "impregnable" citadel built on a steep cliff. However, it had been conquered twice by surprise because the guards fell asleep:First by Cyrus the Great (Persia) in 546 BC.

Second by Antiochus the Great in 214 BC.

The Lesson: Just as the Persian army climbed the "unclimbable" cliffs while the city slept, Jesus warns that spiritual death occurs when believers assume they are safe and stop watching.

2. Philadelphia: The Hour of Trial

To the church at Philadelphia, Jesus gives a promise regarding the "hour": "Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world" (Revelation 3:10).

Context: Philadelphia was the "Missionary City," situated on a fault line and subject to frequent earthquakes. They understood living in a constant state of "unknown hours" of disaster.

The Link: While they didn't know the timing of the trial, their endurance (faithfulness) was their protection.

The "Unknown Hour" and the East (Persia/Iran) The connection between these warnings and the regions of Elam/Persia culminates in Revelation 16:12–15:

The Euphrates: The river (the ancient border between Rome and the Persian/Parthian East) is dried up to "prepare the way for the kings from the East."

The Parenthesis: Right in the middle of this geopolitical movement, Jesus inserts the aphorism again: "Look, I come like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake."

The Biblical Synthesis: Whether discussing the ancient borders of Media-Persia or the modern geopolitical status of Iran, the Bible consistently points back to the "unknown hour" to remind the reader that readiness (spiritual state) is more important than recognition (identifying the exact date on a map or calendar).

In biblical and ancient history, the Euphrates River was much more than a body of water; it was the "Great River" that served as the primary geopolitical and spiritual boundary between the Mediterranean world and the powers of the East (Elam, Media, and Persia).

1. The Divine Boundary

The Euphrates is established early in the Bible as a definitive border:

* The Covenant Border: In Genesis 15:18, God defines the eastern extent of the land promised to Abraham’s descendants as "the great river, the Euphrates."

* The Limit of Influence: For most of biblical history, crossing the Euphrates meant entering a different world—the realm of the "Kings of the East."

2. The Barrier Against the East (Persia/Parthia) In the centuries surrounding the life of Jesus, the Euphrates was the strictly guarded frontier between the Roman Empire and the Parthian (Persian) Empire.

* The "Parthian Shot": Rome lived in constant fear of a surprise invasion from the East. The Persian/Parthian cavalry were famous for their "unknown hour" tactics—attacking and then retreating while firing arrows backward.

* The Protective Shield: As long as the river was high and the crossings were guarded, the Mediterranean world felt safe from the "shattering bow" of the East.

3. The Prophetic Drying of the River The most significant mention of this geography occurs in Revelation 16:12:

"The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East."

* The Removal of the Barrier: In biblical imagery, the drying of the river signifies the removal of the final obstacle. This allows the forces of the East (historically associated with the territories of modern Iran) to march toward Megiddo (Armageddon).

* Modern Context: Today, the Euphrates is at historically low levels due to damming and drought. Many modern prophecy scholars point to this physical reality as a potential "sign" that the barrier between the West and the forces of Iran/Persia is thinning.

Summary of the Geography

* West of the Euphrates: The Promised Land, the Roman sphere, and the "Seven Churches."

* East of the Euphrates: Elam, Media, and Persia (Modern Iran)—the source of the "Wise Men" but also the source of the final eschatological challenge.

In the biblical framework, the "Kings of the East" (Revelation 16:12) and the Median-Persian alliance represent two different points in the same prophetic trajectory: one as a historical archetype of deliverance, and the other as a future force of judgment.

1. The Historical Pattern: The Medo-Persian Alliance

Historically, the "East" was defined by the Medes and Persians, who were the first to cross the Euphrates to conquer Babylon in 539 BC.

The Dual Power: As seen in Daniel 8:20, the two horns of the ram symbolized the Kings of Media and Persia.

The Model of Deliverance: Because Cyrus the Great (Persia) and Darius the Mede overthrew the oppressive Babylonian regime and released the Jews, they are often viewed as a positive biblical type—instruments of God's restoration.

2. The Prophetic Future: The "Kings of the East"

In Revelation, the "Kings of the East" (literally "kings from the rising sun") are summoned after the Euphrates is dried up.

The Identity Shift: While the Medo-Persians were historical deliverers, the "Kings of the East" in Revelation are generally interpreted as a massive adversarial coalition.

Modern Day Iran: Many scholars identify modern Iran (the successor of Elam and Persia) as a central leader or gateway for this coalition, which may also include nations further east like China.

The Final March: Just as the ancient Medo-Persians marched toward Babylon, these end-time kings march toward Armageddon.

3. Comparison: Ancient vs. Future "Kings"

Ancient Medo-Persian Future "Kings of the East"

Primary Goal

Overthrow literal Babylon; Free exiles; Oppose God's kingdom; Armageddon

Territory

Modern Iran, Iraq, Central Asia Modern Iran and the Far East

Spiritual State

"Anointed" instruments of God (Isaiah 45:1) Influenced by demonic spirits (Rev 16:13-14)

The "Unknown Hour" Connection warning

The warning of the "unknown hour" (the "thief in the night") is positioned between the drying of the Euphrates and the arrival of these kings. This suggests that the movement of these eastern powers—specifically from the regions of ancient

Elam and Media—is one of the final signs that the "thief" is at the door.

The "Prince of Persia" mentioned in Daniel 10 provides a spiritual explanation for the conflict between these regions and the West?

In the Book of Daniel, the "Prince of Persia" provides a rare look into the "spiritual geography" behind the physical nations of Elam, Media, and Persia. It suggests that the geopolitical movements of modern-day Iran are mirrored by a conflict in the unseen realm.

1. The Spiritual Conflict (Daniel 10)

While Daniel was fasting and praying by the Tigris River, an angel (likely Gabriel) appeared to him with an explanation for a three-week delay in his arrival:

* The Resistance: The angel says, "The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days" (Daniel 10:13).

* Not a Human King: This "Prince" was not a mortal man (the human King Cyrus was actually favorable to Daniel). Instead, scholars identify this as a territorial spirit or "principality"—a high-ranking demonic power assigned to influence the Persian Empire.

* The Reinforcement: The angel only broke through when Michael, the "archangel" assigned to protect Israel, came to assist him in the fight.

2. The Prince of Media/Greece

The angel further reveals that after he finishes fighting the Prince of Persia, the "Prince of Greece" would come (Daniel 10:20).

* This matches the historical transition where the Medo-Persian Empire was eventually conquered by Alexander the Great.

* The Biblical Explanation: Kingdoms do not just rise and fall due to politics; there is a "heavenly war" over the direction of these specific regions.

3. Modern Comparison: The Spiritual Battle for Iran

Many modern theologians use this "Prince of Persia" concept to explain the stark contrast in Iran's biblical history versus its modern stance:

* The Ancient Dichotomy: Persia was the nation that saved the Jews (Cyrus/Esther), yet the "Prince of Persia" opposed God’s messenger.

* The Modern Parallel: Iran today is home to a government that is often hostile toward Israel, yet it also contains the fastest-growing underground Christian church in the world.

* The Interpretation: Scholars suggest the "Prince of Persia" (the spiritual power) continues to influence the region's leadership, while the "restoration of Elam" (the spiritual awakening) represents God's "throne" being established among the people.

Conclusion: The "Hour" and the "Prince" When Jesus speaks of the "unknown hour," he is referring to a moment that terminates these long-standing spiritual battles. The drying of the Euphrates and the arrival of the Kings of the East represent the moment these spiritual barriers are removed, leading to the final confrontation.

Much Blessings...
