God Wants To Use You By Filling You With Himself!

Are You Thirsty For More of God?

By Abraham Israel

One of the biggest area of contention in today's Christendom is nothing other than the topic of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Whenever Jesus spoke symbolically about the living water, he spoke first about receiving the Holy Spirit's work of salvation by grace through faith and second is to receive the gift of God by being "filled with the Holy Spirit" in order to be a witness and a proclaimer of the salvation experienced within (John 4:10, 13-14; 7:37-39; Acts 2:4). One is we are saved by receiving the gift of God, second we start to serve people with the love of God in our hearts to help them receive and experience the same gift of savation and all other spiritual blessings by ministering under the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit. To have the one without the other is like having one leg and using a wooden crutch of our own natural ability and strength to serve and work for God. We cannot dream to do any thing big for God without the supernatural power of God working from within us.

People in many churches have committees, leadership meetings, new ideas and principles to reach the lost, new ecumenical moments to stay united as God's one Body and new principles and policies on how to run the Church prosperously. All these are good if they work, the sad thing is, in most of the places even after all these things are implemented, they do not see the Church multiply and reach the lost who are really perishing in sin. Why? These effort to make the Church grow comes not from God but from the world which runs on policies and principles of man's thinking and wisdom. When we see the first century growth of the Church, all the great apostles were unlearned men, but all of them were Baptized in the Spirit and spoke with tongues. Without any single person left out, they were all speaking in tongues regularly and were depending on the power of the Holy Spirit to aid them to be a witness to the world. They overcame sin by the power of the Holy Spirit. Their life spoke to the unconverted men and filled their hearts with fear that they said,
"These who have turned the world upside down have come here too." (Acts 17:6). Our action speaks loudly and effectively more than our words could ever do alone.

I come from a strong evangelical Church which never believed in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. They said that we can be filled with the Spirit if we live a holy life and serve God. But no matter how much I tried from my childhood, all I felt was that I was unworthy to serve the Lord in my own strength. So I decided that I will never work for God except work in the world and support the Church monetarily. But to my surprise the exact opposite thing happened in my life, God called me to full time ministry. When I was struggling to carry forward God's call, He asked me questions and started to give answers to it. I started to unlearn what ever I have been taught and voraciously consumed the word of God day and night. Right from the word of God, God began to challenge me to open my eyes and see what it says? Truthfully when I went through the word of God, I began to see the pattern of the apostolic ministry which had the basis of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as the foundation of the powerful work of God on earth in the first century
(Acts 2:1-4, 14-18; 8:14-18; 10:44-48; 11:15-17; 19:2, 5-6).

Then I began to see that the very reason Jesus came to the earth was not just save people from their sins, though it is the primary reason but the ultimate reason for Jesus coming to the earth was to Baptize people with the Holy Spirit and Fire
(Matt 1:20-21; Luke 3:16). John the Baptist proclaimed this truth, and Jesus and all the apostles agreed with him in all the gospels (Matt 3:11).

Some people are ready to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit if they can be filled without speaking in tongues? Ha, ha, ha,ha...The question that I want to ask them is, are you more intelligent than God, that you want something without the other that God finds as necessary? In other words, you do not want to lose your dignity and reputation that you have developed by the tradition of your Church life, rather than losing youself humbly in God's sight to receive His grace of Spirit's infilling. It is better to humble ourself in the eyes of the Lord so that He will lift us up with His supernatural grace before men. Still others fear because of some stories circulated within their Church that they might get some other demonic spirit if they seek for the Spirit's infilling and thus as a result of it, they have completely been filled with fear and have not sought the Lord for the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. What did Jesus say to such kind of fear? If the earthly fathers with sin nature within are loving enough to give good gifts to their children, how much more our Heavenly Father will be ready to give His most precious gift who is equal to His only begotten Son which is the Holy Spirit himself to those who ask Him (Luke 11:13; Rom 8:32). Our Father God has promised not to give the evil spirit of stone, serpent and scorpion which are the three orders of demonic power
(Luke 11:11-12; 10:17-20), if you sincerely ask for the Holy Spirit to fill you up. Trust what your Heavenly Father says and be blessed!

We see every where in the New Testament that whenever and where ever they were filled with the Spirit, they received the gift of the personal prayer language of praying in tongues along with that infilling of the Holy Spirit's Presence. This personal prayer language is something that the Apostle Paul said as that which cannot be understood by any person in the whole universe except God
(1 Cor 14:2). Why was it given along with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit? It was given by God so that our natural weakness to pray in a limited way because of lack of understanding the will of God could be directly overcome by the help of the Holy Spirit who produces the prayer we pray in tongues (Rom 8:26-27). When a person prays in the spirit by faith, God has promised to work all things for his good and lead that person to glorification in Christ Jesus (1 Cor 14:15; Rom 8:28-30).

Once I understood this, I asked the Lord, "If what your word says is true, then fill me with your Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues!" Praise the Lord! God truly heard my thirst for God, and as I went to the open terrace and prayed lifting my hand towards heaven, a wonderful thing happened at that moment, a unknown word which my mind could never understand came to my mind and I just spoke that word by faith. As I started to speak by faith in tongues word by word, more words started to flow through my mouth as the Holy Spirit started to give more utterance continuously
(Acts 2:4).

The devil opposes the doctrine of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit because that is the one thing that can directly make a saint to supernaturally communicate back to God the exact will of Him for their lives. Praying in tongues is the purest form of prayer because you are praying the heart of God back to Him. In other words, God prays to Himself through you to fulfill His purpose for your life and ministry. Tongue is a fire that can be used by the Holy Spirit through praying in tongues, to set the earth on fire by the heaven's blessing fire or can be used as cursing instrument to release the demonic fire of hell on earth
(James 3:6-12). After you are born again as God's child, what fire are you releasing? Jesus came to set the world with the tongues of blessing fire of heaven which He sent and released upon earth on the day of Pentecost to fill the world as a sign that He has sovereignly been seated at the right hand of the Father to rule the earth with God's power (Luke 12:49-50; Acts 1:4-5, 8; John 16:7). Satan is very fearful of the tongues of fire that God gives and tries his best to cause confusion among the saints by producing counterfeit because he knows that it causes confusion in their own camp because of their inability to decode the supernaturally crypted message of God to their understanding.

I began to rejoice about this supernatural prayer language which was given as a gift and a sign of the infilling of the Holy Spirit. Some people told me that one should understand that many men whom God has used mightily have not ever spoken in tongues. Slowly I understood that when God calls a person to work for Him, that person will receive a calling-anointing to fulfill that which God wanted him to do in his life
(Rom 11:29). This does not make them automatically receive the Holy Spirit unless they thirst for God through standing by faith on His promises. Many have not received it because even though they did great works for God, they were influenced by doctrines of their denominations which never allowed their mind to become open towards the truth of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

A person cannot find whether another person is Baptised in the Holy Spirit or not, unless they speak in tongues. Some people say, how can you say that? The Bible says that Peter and the whole apostolic company of men who came along with them knew that the gentiles who heard the gospel were filled with the Holy Spirit only when they heard them speak in tongues
(Acts 10:44-45). My question is, are you greater than Peter the apostle whom God had used as a foundation stone to build the Church of Jesus Christ (Matt 16:18)? Are you greater than the apostolic team with Peter who nearly learned everything from Jesus directly when He was in the flesh. No by all means. We can be equal to them but cannot be greater than these people who lived wholeheartedly for the kingdom of God in the first century.

Then as I began to understand the blessedness of speaking and praying to God in tongues, ever since I have disciplined myself to pray daily atleast a couple of hours or more according to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Today the revelation that I write keeps coming as a river because of the supernatural prayer language that I have disciplined to pray towards the Lord. Praying in tongues has released God's supernatural revelation in to my soul and has given me understanding to digest the truth of God, through which the power of the Holy Spirit has been released supernaturally in my life. Ever since like Apostle Paul I strive to speak more in tongues towards God and would love to tell like him one day to all saying,
"I speak with tongues more than you all," like as he did to the fanatical tongue speaking Corinthian Church (1 Cor 14:18). Innumerable spiritual benefits come as a package along with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit which always accompanies with the external evidence of speaking in tongues. [To know deeply about it, please read my online book "Why All Believers Can And Must Speak in Tongues?" in the following link : http://www.apostolicrevelation.info/2011/06/chronicles-for-tongue-speaking.html]

I know only those who are spiritually thirsty will only go after God and ask Him to Baptise them with the Holy Spirit which always come with the external evidence of speaking in tongues
(Acts 2:4; 10:44-46). I say this because, even though as the Apostle Paul revealed that nearly 500 saints have seen Jesus at one instance alive after his death and resurrection, only 120 disciples had the thirst to obey Jesus' command to wait for Baptism of the Holy Spirit and thus receive it on the day of Pentecost (1 Cor 15:5-8; Acts 1:15). The Holy Spirit Baptism even though can be received by all believers, it is actually experienced only by those who obey God's command to seek and ask God for it with their whole heart (Acts 5:32; Luke 11:13).

So saints, what are you waiting for? If you have not been baptized with the Holy Spirit, please do seek God for it with your whole heart. You will know that you are baptised in the Holy Spirit when you start to hear yourself speak in tongues as the Spirit gives you utterance
(Acts 10:44-46). The Spirit of God as I told you in my own experience, will give you unknown syllable, but it is you who should allow the Holy Spirit to take control of your body by choosing to speak our the utterance which He gives (Acts 2:4). When you give your tongue through which a word is spoken out to be under the control of the Holy Spirit, infact you are giving your whole body to Him as a living sacrifice for the service of God (James 3:2-12; Rom 12:1-2).

May the God who blessed me with His Spirit and made me do what is impossible with my own very limited ability, may He also bless you and make you a blessing as you seek the Lord for a filling of the Holy Spirit. For those who have already received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit through the evidence of speaking in tongues, but have put this precious gift in the shelf and thus have become useless and dusty in your spiritual life should start to use the prayer language that God has given to you as a gift to pray to God daily in the perfect will of God
(1 Cor 14:18). When you discipline youself to pray to God daily in the perfect will of God, soon you will start to live a supernatural apostolic faith life of heavenly dimension in the earthly realm itself (Jude 1:20). If you think that you do not need the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, ask yourself, am I greater than Apostle Paul himself who needed it desperately to discipline himself to fulfill the perfect will of God for his own life (1 Cor 14:18; 9:27; 2 Tim 4:7). Are you greater than Jesus himself who needed to be baptized in the Holy Spirit to fulfill His God given assignment on earth (Luke 3:21-22; Heb 1:9; 5:5; Acts 10:38)? Apostle Paul instructed all believers to be filled again and again through disciplining oneself through praying in tongues which they have actually received as a gift while being Baptised in the Holy Spirit for the first time (Eph 4:18-21; 1 Cor 14:15-18). If you have been able to discipline yourself to pray in tongues for one hour, then go for two. If you have been able to discipline yourself to pray in tongues for two hours, then go for three, etc...thus praying at all times for all things!

I pray may the heavenly blessing of the Lord overtake you life and make you appropriate to the physical realm all the spiritual blessings that already belongs to you in the spiritual realm
(Eph 1:3). BE BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING!
