Is It Sinful To Lust After My Own Husband?

Is It Biblically Right For Me To Use The Recorded Sexually Intimate Past Video That I Have Taken With My Husband To Be Used For Masturbation Because Of His Unavailability?

Question: I am married, however my husband has a bad drug problem (meth-needles) on top of that we don't live together because of financial problems (so if he is cheating on me, I won't know)... I am scared to have intercourse sometimes with him because of this, but I do have my needs. We have made video in the past. I understand that masturbation would be considered a sexual lust, but if that lust is after my own husband would it be considered a sin?

I've been fighting this until I have confirmation on this, I feel too embarrassed to ask my pastors wife. I'm new Pentecostal, got the holy ghost, and been baptized... I don't want to dishonor my lord ..but I am infact confused.

Can you please assist me to find an answer on this question.

Thank you for your time and God bless.

Answer: Greetings in Jesus wonderful name!

The Word of God clearly says,
"So ought men also to love their own wives as their own bodies: he that loves his own wife loves himself." (Eph 5:28). In other words, when a family is functional and the husband is able to stay sound and devoted in his mind towards his wife through a sacrificial love just like Christ loved his Church to death, they will love their wife as they love themselves because of the oneness of heart that they are able to experience with their wife which will make them understand that the more they love their wife by giving up their own rights and privileges, the more the blessedness of the unity of heart, soul and mind they will be able to feel and experience in their life. As the wife in oneness work only for the benefit of the husband, he will be able to trust her and self-sacrificially love her to death as she will enrich his life in every way and every day (Prov 31:11). By practicing death to self, the life of the wife will rise to life within the heart, soul and body of the husband to experience oneness within the family life (Matt 10:39; 16:25).

I understand the anxiety you are going through as a child of God, every drug problem is a demonic bondage that keeps the family dysfunctional
(Jam 3:13-16; Mark 7:20-23). It is not the will of God that you should live seperately, as the apostle Paul instructs the husband and wife both to live together and have regular giving of one another selflessly in sexual intercourse, except for a limited time by agreement for the sake of fasting and praying, after which they are both instructed to come together again in the intimacy of sex within marriage regularly to avoid immorality and burning with passion which will defile the soul and may lead to defilement of one's body through infidelity if not for the grace of God (1 Cor 7:5-6, 2, 9; Gen 20:6).

Apostle Paul said,
"But if a man makes no provision for those dependent on him, and especially for his own family, he has disowned the faith and is behaving worse than an unbeliever." (1 Tim 5:8, Weymouth New Testament). If you are not able to receive financial support and also know whether your husband is faithful to you or not, it means the communication between you both has totally got closed. When you are scared, it means that you are on a risk and so you are fearing of sexually transmitted disease or contracting HIV through sexual encounter with your husband. Yes there is a risk and real danger of getting affected by (STD) sexually transmitted diseases when someone is addicted to drugs!

I feel that is why Jesus clearly said, "
If there is sexual immorality, there is every right for the husband or the wife to divorce their partner rightfully before God and marry another person again to legally come in to a new marital contractual agreement with someone else, and avoid illegally entering in to the area of sinful adultery in the sight of God." (Matt 19:9, Abi's Translation). So you can decide whether you want to continue in the danger of contracting STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease) and fear of abuse within your marriage, or remarry and stay within a new unit legally and righteously in the sight of God and within the will of God (Matt 6:33).

The great apostle Paul clearly says to new believers who have come in to the faith with a unbelieving spouse who has been married to them before they ever became a believer by saying,
"15 But if the unbeliever departs, let him depart; a brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases. But God has called us to peace. 16 For how do you know, O wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, O husband, whether you will save your wife?" (1 Cor 7:15-16). In other words, a person who wants to depart from a spouse because of their spouse's new found faith in the Lord Jesus, should be allowed to depart if they want, or else if they want to remain in marital wedlock knowing that their spouse has found the Christian faith and values which were not there before when they came together, then the believing spouse should not depart from them. If the unbelieving spouse expects you to become conformed to their behavior and values of the world, it is better to get out of bondage in such cases, as the two cannot walk together in the same path unless they agree to disagree in certain areas of life, and still hold hands to walk together in self-sacrificing love (Amos 3:3; 1 Peter 3:1-2). By stubbornly praying to God, we cannot bend the will of a unsaved man to become saved, but when we pray, we let God orchestrate things and help people get saved by their own volition, and yet we do not have guarantee hundred percentage of the time that the unbelieving spouse will be saved because we have prayed (1 Cor 7:16). In fact, God respects the will of even an atheist and unbeliever to let them decide for themselves, so that even at the cost of the sovereign authority of His will over them, His purpose for the existence of this universe is done through their will and not apart from it, and thus avoiding forcefully influencing them to work for him like a robot (Col 1:16-17). But the bottom line is always with God, who has given humans the power to decide, but not the power to deny the results of the good or bad choice they had made. So I think you need to move on in life as you have to meet your needs, and not long for something like masturbation that has the potential to create more lust and lead in to life of adultery and fornication, that is why when someone lusts, Jesus equated it to spiritual adultery in their heart, that gets enflamed within their heart to become fulfilled later in their body as in the life of those who will be cast in to hell with their whole body as a unbeliever, who use their own body to fulfill all their lust the way they want and the time they want in their old Adamic nature of the sinful flesh (Matt 5:27-30).

Masturbation within marriage mutually in love is not sinful, but when it is done exclusively in isolation or even with the knowledge of the other partner through lust to satisfy self is absolutely sinful
(Prov 18:1). Love gives, but lust demands. Love humbly sacrifices, lust pridefully boasts. Love is of God, lust is of self. Promote love within marital life, deny lust to stay satisfied in marital life (1 Cor 13:3). True godliness always ends up in love, a love that gives itself so that it could receive without any expectation of return replication of the same act from those who have received it.

Making a sexual video of your intimacy with your husband is not a natural Biblical trend to follow, but it is a sinful trend of our generation that has been rampant in promoting masturbation, promiscuity and all kinds of unnatural fetishes and perversions that is leading themselves and others around the world to greater and greater voilence against women and children who are weak vessels, and also it is breaking marriages and families, that is pushing the world to judgmental wrath of God as in the days of Noah and Lot
(1 Peter 3:7; Eph 6:4; Luke 17:24-30; Rev 3:10; 16:1, 9, 11). Awake, arise and shine saint of God!

Many times we learn the way of God the hard way through many trials and tribulations that we experience
(John 16:33; Jam 1:2, 12), and thus it is better to not take the video of sexual intimacy of ourselves with our spouses as it can mislead us in to slippery path of downslide in our own spiritual lives, and also become a stumbling block in the lives of others too in whose hands it might slip in to unaware because of lack of security in our digital world where we live day in and day out. Love is the self-giving kind within the marital lives that God has created marriage for, which gives a breath of new life in the heart of those who value the institution of marriage (Eph 5:28). Lust is the receiving kind that demands and never ready to deny itself its craving for indulgence that leads to death, and thus lust should be denied place through self-control or the sexual craving must be soon met within a lawful marriage to solve the need at all cost, and we cannot give reasons for indulging in it as all sex outside of marriage is illegal in the sight of God (1 Cor 7:9; Prov 6:27-32). Delete the old videos as soon as possible, because they might become the wrong idol to mislead you away from the love of God which He has for you in Christ Jesus your Lord and Savior (1 John 4:16; Rom 8:28, 37-39).

One thing we must understand is, love and lust cannot go together. When one operates, the other needs to be denied. Love is of God, but lust is of self. Lust has the potential to become demonic if it becomes a habit and can lead to great sins against God and men. So a snake is a snake, and its poison is a poison. Lust is a lust, and its sinful poison is a poison no matter who receives its venomous bite. Sometimes sin thrills for some time, but never forget that it also kills after some time though it might get delayed for a time.
"4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails." (1 Cor 13:3-8). Now lust is the opposite of all of the above character we see in love. Love thrives to life, lust leads to death. There are no inbetween to choose in life.

So I believe that you should re-marry a godly person and move on in life if the danger for your own life continues to escalate from where you are today. Pray to the Lord for His guidance in your life and build a godly home to live a life that will bring Glory to the name of our Lord Jesus!

Much Blessings....

Is It Biblically Acceptable To Masturbate Within Marriage?

What If Masturbation Is Done During The Sex Act Between A Husband And Wife?

Question: You didn't say much about the marriage bed. What if masturbation is done during the sex act between a husband and wife? As the wife, I may not have that release without.

It is an embarrassing question for me.

Answer: Greetings to you in Jesus wonderful name!

Regarding the marriage bed, the apostolic writer to the Hebrews said,
"Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge." (Heb 13:4). In general it is not only Christians, but around the world in various religions of the world they see marriage as honorable because it is indeed a direct institution of God which has been set in to motion in the Garden of Eden where He conducted the first marriage on the brand new man and woman, out of the blue print of heaven which was fulfilled on earth (Gen 2:20-25).

The very basis of a marriage that is honorable is based on a one man and one woman relationship within it. In today's world where LGBT relationship is atloose everywhere in the world being promoted by the goverments of the world which is leading people in to lawlessness and deterioration of character
(2 Tim 3:1-5), still commonly a good faithful family of one wife for life families that stand united are the happiest ones that bring good God's childrens of blessing to the society and peaceful homes that experience heaven on earth.

Marriage goes beyond religion, that when God finds a faithful husband and a wife who love each other, he blesses them specially for their fidelity to each other. Seeing such a blessed family is envied everywhere in all the nations where humans live. God expects a marriage bed to stay undefiled. In other words, God does't want any human to be unfaithful to the one man and one woman relationship within it. The faithfulness expected by God within marriage is not only physical but even to a emotional and spiritual level where God wants the husband and wife to dwell in oneness in spirit, soul and body and in every area of life and living
(Gen 2:24). The oneness in spirituality will be achieved fully only when both the husband and wife will stay faithful even in their thought life of their soul, which is very important for God to bless marriages more and more spiritually (Matt 5:27-30). In other words, when the husband become glued to the wife in God, there comes a oneness spiritually which will transform the way they know each other intimately and help them enjoy intimacy in God. When love rules in marriage, lust has no place to be entertained within.

Lust is when one puts their own self higher than the needs of the other one to receive rather than to give. God never blesses lust because it is sinful and will destroy peace within homes. Lust promotes infidelity within marriage.

I understand that for a man there is a orgasmic release that comes much before than for a woman. As the relatioship that God encourages within marriage primarily to give pleasure and then get pleasure through it within marriage
(1 Cor 7:4), it is good for the husband to practice foreplay enough and not just go in to intercourse immediately. When as a wife you are able to experience orgasm, then it will be time for you to encourage your husband to initiate intercourse so that he would also be in ectasy as well as you when orgasm hits him at the right time, where both of you will experience great joy and happiness.

Yes, you are free to initiate masturbation for your spouse and not for yourself, in the same way your husband can initiate masturbation for you and not for himself during times of intimacy. So love even in sex within marriage is of a giving nature, and through self-giving sacrificial love practiced through it, it always receives back the love and affection due to each other
(1 Cor 7:3). Even you can always go a step further in intimacy to express your self-sacrificing love for your spouse using fellatio which is oral or hand stimulation of your husband's penis (Sos 2:3), as well as receive cunnilingus from your husband which is the stimulation of the female genitals using the tongue or lips or hand (Sos 5:1). Also you both can spice up the intimacy of your love through many other different innovative ways which is acceptable to your spouse which he likes. Communication between spouses is very important to increase in oneness more and more especially in the sexual area within marriage to work. You should also discuss your fears and what you do not like, so that your husband can walk in an understanding way and vice-versa. You should never feel embarrased to discuss these imporant areas of your married sex life and your preferences and needs within it, and understand his preferance above all so that you can give first and also get satisfied in your relationship with one another. Praise the Lord!

Finally, adultery and any infidelity to one's spouse by visiting a prostitute or a girlfriend or a mistress to fulfill their own lust, fantasy or fetish outside of the boundary of marriage is being seen as a serious offence and sin against one self and their marriage by God. He who whoremongers with a prostitute divides his own soul life in to pieces, which is a sin against one's own body of oneness in marriage
(1 Cor 6:16, 18). God will judge all who will defile the loving family life with lust and infidelity because it is His institution.

I hope I have addressed the exact area you wanted me to speak. May God bless your marriage greatly and help you both to stay in supernatural oneness in all areas of your married life.

Much Blessings....

Can We Pronounce The Forbidden Name Of God Scripturally?

Who Is 'Yah'?

Question: Who is 'Yah' and what does it mean in Hebrew? In the olden days, people found it too sacred to pronounce the name of the God of Israel. But my question is, do we see this concept in the Scriptures or it is just a tradition that has blinded people?

Answer: Greetings in Jesus wonderful name!

I believe that God wants his name to be pronounced in all the earth and that is why He said,
"But indeed for this purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth." (Exodus 9:16). This was told to Pharoah the king of Egypt by Moses as directed by God as a prophesy, which means God desires his name to be reverently spoken with fear and respect in all the earth.

Exodus 20:7
reads: "Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain." This means in other words, do not use the Lord's name as a cuss word or a curse word which are not polite words that some one speaks when they are feeling angry.

Actually people of Old have taken this out of context to the extent, that they have totally prohibited the use of the name of the God of Israel totally. The scribes and teachers of the Law of Moses interpreted the Scripture with their own commentaries which were used as authoritative and equal to the authority of the Scripture. Jesus rebuked all such tradition and said,
"You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God." (Matt 22:29). And further to the religious Jews He pointed out their error saying that by disobeying the sole authority of the Scripture by adding traditional commentaries of the teachers of the law of Moses to it, "... [they] ignored God's commands in order to follow [their...] own teaching. [They...] did a lot of other things just as bad." (Mark 7:13, CEV).

Thus the very belief that it is too sacred to pronounce the name of the God of Israel in itself, is a misinterpreted belief from
Exo 20:7, which made the religious keepers of the Law live a powerless life of tradition, rather than live by the power of God over sin through the power of the authority of the Scriptures, through which only true faith gets born in the heart within to connect to God and please Him by hearing His voice to thus walk in obedience to his direction to be blessed and be a blessing to many others around us (Rom 10:17; Heb 11:6). As for the righteous in all generations of all time who live by faith in God, the name of the Lord is their strong tower who run in to its protection and stay safe from all danger unlike the traditional religious zealots who do not even pronounce the great name and go nuts to stop people from pronouncing that great name (Prov 18:10).

Who is 'Yah'?

'Yah' the name of the biblical God of Israel can be called as 'THE LORD' or 'THE UNIVERSAL MASTER CREATOR' or 'THE RULER OF THE UNIVERSE' or 'I will be' who is the self-existent One. It is an exclusive name for the one and only God who claims all things as his creation and Himself as the ruler over it all in the Bible. The first occurance of the Name YAH occurs in
Exodus 15:2, where Moses and Israel sing a song regarding their deliverance from Pharoah's horsemen.

The Septuagint translates 'Yah' as 'Kyrios', meaning "the LORD", because of the Jewish custom of replacing the sacred name with 'Adonai' which also mean 'the Lord' in Hebrew that has been commonly done for milleniums, which many Jews do even to this day. Jesus used the Greek word kurios ("lord") to translate YHWH which gives us a idea that these writers were inspired of God.

'Yahh' was an abbreviation for YHWH (the first two letters) of tetragrammaton, which means it is the four-letter Hebrew word, the name of the biblical God of Israel. The four letters, read from right to left, are yodh, he, waw and he. While there is no consensus about the structure and etymology of the name, the form Yahweh is now accepted almost universally.

Regarding the pronounciation of 'YHWH', we have clues to the pronunciation because YHWH was incorporated into other words. For example, "hallelujah" comes from "hallelu Yah" or "praise (ye) Yah," where yahh was an abbreviation for YHWH (the first two letters). You can see it at the end of many Hebrew names: Isaiah (YHWH has saved) or Hezekiah (YHWH has strengthened). It can appear at the beginning of names, such as Jehoshaphat (YHWH has judged) or Joash (YHWH has come to help). Clement of Alexandria born in Athens, who later became the Christian Apologist, missionary theologian to the Hellenistic (Greek cultural) world, and second known leader and teacher of the catechetical school of Alexandria, writing about 200 AD, transliterated YHWH into Greek as 'iaoue', which would be pronounced "yahweh" in English today.

In the Bible, God has a personal name. It was revealed to Moses at the time when he delivered Israel from slavery in Egypt
(Ex. 3:15; 6:2-9). According to Exodus 6:3, even Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob did not know God by that name. On this passage, Josephus the Jewish priest, scholar, and historian (born in Jerusalem around ad 37/38 — died AD 100, Rome) wrote, "God declared to him [Moses] His holy name, which had never been discovered to man before, and concerning which it is not lawful for me to speak" (Antiquities of the Jews II.12.4). In Hebrew it has four consonants: Y-H-V-H. The original vowels are now unknown. The form Yahveh or Yahweh is a conjectural scholarly reconstruction, but no complete certainty attaches to it.

Jesus used the word 'LORD' to call YHWH, that is enough for us as Christians to throw away all our concern regarding the unknow original vowels whose phonetic has been claimed as lost, and instead do as Jesus did, which is to listen to the voice of God through the Scipture and obey it perfectly for the Glory of God. This is what will please the God who has saved us by His own works and for His Glory.

Much Blessings....

RE: How Can Masturbation Be Biblically Sinful? Especially Within Marriage?

How About Masturbation Within Marriage? Is It Right Biblically?

Question: I read your article titled, 'Masturbation - Is It A Sin According To The Bible? If It Is, How To Overcome It?'. Please need more Biblical information on masturbation between a husband and wife in the marriage bed.

Answer: Greetings in Jesus wonderful name!

According to God he has clearly instructed the married people saying,
"Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral." (Heb 13:4, NIV).

We know for sure that the marriage bed to be kept honorable before God, humans and one another, the married people should keep themselves not only from adultery but also from thoughts that are sexually immoral. As people of our generation find easy porn, dirty talking, flirting as nothing immoral, they come to decide for themselves that a little dirty thinking and a little fetish way of relationship with the spouse and further a little sexual fatasies are perfect ok with God.

Is it really? Have God changed a bit in our generation? Has his demand of holiness from his children have been reduced to a lesser degree in our generation?

By no means God has changed one bit, the same God of the Bible who said in the Old Testament times,
"You must be holy because I, the LORD, am holy. I have set you apart from all other people to be my very own." (Lev 20:26), have repeated this in the same way without any change in New Testament through the apostles of Jesus Christ saying, "You must be holy because I am holy." This shows that God's standard of holiness and His demand for it in his children have not decreased but rather have increased as it was physical adultery in the Old Testament times that the Law prohibited, but in our New Testament times Jesus increased the demand for holiness saying, "...whosoever looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart." (Matt 5:28). In fact, the Old Testent considered the last commandment "Thou shall not covet" as the least of the commandment, but Jesus pointed to people that God wants a perfect heart of purity in his children and that is why even the last commandment cannot be neglected to be the leaset but rather should be kept as a whole and also should teach to others (Matt 5:19). In other words, the bottomline that Jesus conveyed to God's children is that, a heart change can only bring out of us a life that is pleasing to God. A cleased heart by the blood of Jesus through faith is a precursor to a clean heart and a pure one, that has not been lifted up towards impurity of thoughts and emotion and will, that has the potential to please God (Acts 15:9). Regular confession of sins day by day is a very much needed ingredient to a clean heart of faith (1 John 1:7, 9).

From this we can clearly see that God wants the marriage bed to be free from porn because lust is always involved in pornography, he wants the marriage bed to be free from masturbation in isolation which is called as solo-sex because it seeks its own desire and not the other partner to please them in any way possible
(Prov 18:1; Isa 56:11) and also he wants a married person to be completely free from flirting and so called dating before marriage because at the least it involves emotional fornication and even gets to become physical if the emotions are not kept in check. Love within marriage should prevail and lust should have no place at all (1 Cor 13:1-13) as "3 God's will is for us within marriage and outside of it is to be holy, so we must stay away from all sexual sin [i.e. which includes pornography, masturbation, flirtation, fetish and fantasies of any kind is a no no within marriage strictly]. 4 So that each of us will learn to control his own body and live in holiness and honor 5 not in lustful passion [i.e. a stong lustful desire to see porn, masturbate, flirtate, create a idolic fetish and fantasize over those with craving that look for opportunity to fulfill it physically] like the pagans who do not know God and His ways." (1 Thess 4:3-5, NLT). In others words, the difference between a person who lust and a actual person who fornicates and commits adultery is the opportunity that comes in between them. In the world, every man who craves and desires for something first always makes that which He lusts to become the idol of his heart and life, so that this desire will start to rule his life instead of God which is an absolute idolatry that God hates to see his children involved with.

Can a person masturbate without lust involved in it within marriage bed?

I believe that it is possible to love a person only when we put the happiness of the spouse before ourselves. Especially with in marriage, that is why apostle Paul said,
"The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife." (1 Cor 7:4, NIV). Thus mutual masturbation is acceptable biblically then, but not exclusive masturbation in isolation. Mutual promotes love, exclusive masturbation promotes more lust.

One person asked me whether they could masterbate using the video or photograph recorded during previous sexual acts within marriage, because of the non availability of the spouse on day to day basis as he is working far from the home and returns once in a while when vacation is given to them to visit their home?

This is a very serious and a complicated situation within the marriage bed where the nonavailability of the spouse to fulfill the desire of the other as instructed by the Bible cannot be fulfilled
(1 Cor 7:5). This is not a ideal situation for marriage to thrive, and therefore the idea of a strong fulfillment through seeing the spouse's recorded photo or video might become a idol to create a craving to go beyond the boundary of marriage in to seeing the nakedness of other strangers and the sexual acts of theirs which might come in to our life outside of marriage covenant boundary which is defiling the marriage bed instead of honoring it. The flesh desires for more and therefore will never say no and will never get satisfied until more and more of such videos of greater variety be supplied to it regularly which will lead to emotional and sometimes even physical infidelity when a opportunity arises to fulfill the lust of our own body. So it is wise to totally avoid exclusive masturbation, which leads to pursuing one's own desire of lust rather than to supply the spouse's desire in love against the will of God which is love and not lust to operate freely within marriage. The world says if there is a will there is a way. How much more if there is a will within the Kingdom of God, there is much more a way to practice self-control without the way of using solo-sex which is exclusive masturbation (1 Cor 7:7, 9). It is better to marry and have sex within marriage than to burn with passion and lust, because continuing like the worldly people in passion and lust will create a opportunity to fall in to fornication and adultery and for the enemies of the Lord to speak badly in a derogatory manner the great name of the Lord so easily over a period of time (1 Cor 7:9).

There are numerous other ways to please each other within the marriage bed, so it can be done honorably according to the desire of the spouse, which means love gives oneself to spouse while lust uses the spouse to fulfill its own desire through physical acts within marriage bed. The self-giving love within marriage is what glorifies God and his institution of marriage
(Gen 38:9-10), all other lust for fulfillment glorifies self and perverts the purpose of marriage that is set by God.

May God help us all to fulfill His will for us in marriage and child rearing for the Glory of God!

Much Blessings....

What Is The Difference Between The Name Yahweh And Jehovah?

Is There A Proof That God's Name Is Jehovah And Not Yahweh?

Question: What is the difference between the name Yahweh and Jehovah? Why do Jehovah Witnesses call God Jehovah? Do we have clues how to pronounce 'YHWH' in any way?

Answer: Greetings in Jesus wonderful name!

Yahweh is a a form of the Hebrew name of God used in the Bible. The name came to be regarded by Jews ( c. 300 BC) as too sacred to be spoken, and the vowel sounds are uncertain. Because of the above Jewish belief we have seen above, it was forbidden to write the name of God at all in the Biblical Old Testament period, and it could only be spoken once per year on Yom Kippur after the people had been cleansed from their sins.

Because the Jewish Scribe who are copiers of Scripture felt that the name of God was so special, and so powerful, that no one could truly use God's name casually during the intertestmental period of Israel, around 500 BC, the Jews became very concerned with not blaspheming the name of the Lord or accidentally taking the name of God in vain
(Leviticus 24:16; Exo 20:7), so they never used it except for one day each year on Yom Kippur when they spoke it 7 times in a Temple ceremony called Yom Kippur (Lev 16:1-34), the Day of Atonement after which they were never allowed to write it down, so they used "JHWH" as God's name without vowels. So when they wrote His name they used 4 initials to represent it. So rather than saying the name 'Yahweh', they would say Elohim instead, which is the Hebrew word for God. However, this did not solve the problem of what to do when one came across the name Yahweh during the reading of the Scriptures.

Limitation Of Expression In Hebrew But Liberty Of Devotion Is Hidden In It

Hebrew is written with only the consonant letters. The pronunciation of the words were passed down from generation to generation verbally. When the Temple was destroyed around 70 AD, the Yom Kippur ritual was changed and God’s name was not spoken again. Scholars roughly say that the way it was was spoken was eventually lost to the memory of man in about 300 AD.

So we cannot know for sure the original pronunciation through which the Israelites called the name of God.

Yahweh, the god of the Israelites, whose name was revealed to Moses as four Hebrew consonants (YHWH) called the tetragrammaton. ... Thus, the tetragrammaton became the artificial Latinized name Jehovah (JeHoWaH).

JEHOVAH (Yahweh), in the Bible, the God of Israel. "Jehovah" is a modern mispronunciation of the Hebrew name, resulting from combining the consonants of that name, Jhvh, with the vowels of the word 'adonay', "Lord," which the Jews substituted for the proper name in reading the scriptures. In other words, jumping ahead to about 1200 AD, scholars transliterated the consonants YHWH into European letters of that era (JHVH) and then added the vowels, not knowing they weren't the correct ones. Hence, "Jehovah" was born. It has the consonants of the original YHWH, but the vowels of the Hebrew word for "lord."

Taking,
Exodus 3:13-14 in which the word 'I AM' is 'ehyeh' of Hebrew in to consideration, which leads many scholars to believe that the best translation of YHWH is "He is" or "the Eternal" which is an additional idea of ever continuing action mixed in without end. God introduced Himself to Abraham as El-Shaddai ("God Almighty"). It is a mistake to think that YHWH is God's exclusive name or His only real name.

Why do Jehovah Witnesses call God Jehovah?

Jehovah's Witnesses emphasize the use of God's name, and they prefer and adopted the form Jehovah — a vocalization of God's name based on the Tetragrammaton. They believe that Jehovah is the only true God, the creator of all things, and the Universal Sovereign, even though it is a mispronounciation of the tetragrammaton that later became the artificial Latinized name Jehovah (JeHoWaH). These people continued using the name Jehovah for their cult and therefore became secluded from the main stream Christianity and also tresspassed in to forbidden areas of false doctrine and blasphemy in Christology which is the basis of classical true Christianity.

Is it improper to use the name Jehovah or Yahweh?

I believe that because Jehovah is artificial Latinized name and Yahweh is a a form of the Hebrew name of God, it was all human tradition that brought in these names, and it has nothing to do with God and His word
(Mark 7:13). Some, such as the Jehovah's Witnesses, object to using LORD in place of YHWH. However, they are ignoring God's own translation of His name 'The Lord' (Deut 6:5; Matt 22:37). The Septuagint version translated the Hebrew scriptures into Greek. It was done about 200 B.C. in that translation the word YHWH was translated to the Greek word kurios ("Lord"). Jesus used the Greek word kurios ("lord") to translate YHWH which gives us a idea that these writers were inspired of God. This is done consistently in the New Testament, which is inspired by God. Hence, God has shown to us through Jesus that it is proper to translate YHWH as "Lord." The use of all capitals is a convention used by translators to indicate that YHWH is behind the word "Lord" and not the normal Hebrew word adhon.

When a translator encounters a word, he is faced with two choices: he can translate the word or he can transliterate the word. Translation is finding a word that is close to the meaning of the word of the original language while still keeping the readability of the original language in the target language. Transliteration is to give the closest spelling of a word in the target language so that when pronounced in the target language it sounds close to the sound of the word in the original language. Thus we see from ancient times both translation in some cases and transliteration in some other cases of the Bible works of the scribes and teachers of it.

Could We Ever Pronounce 'YHWH' Atleast Closer To The Real One?

Regarding the pronounciation of 'YHWH', we have clues to the pronunciation because YHWH was incorporated into other words. For example, "hallelujah" comes from "hallelu Yah" or "praise Yah," where yahh was an abbreviation for YHWH (the first two letters). You can see it at the end of many Hebrew names: Isaiah (YHWH has saved) or Hezekiah (YHWH has strengthened). It can appear at the beginning of names, such as Jehoshaphat (YHWH has judged) or Joash (YHWH has come to help). Our real knowledge of the pronunciation of YHWH can come from several very early translations of Hebrew. Shortly after the time of Nehemiah, a group of Jews lived on the island of Elephantine conclude that they pronounced YHWH as "yahu." Clement of Alexander, writing about 200 AD, transliterated YHWH into Greek as 'iaoue', which would be pronounced "yahweh" in English today. In other words, we breathe in 'ya' and breathe out 'hu', which represents the very breath of life which is in God, the very beginning and the very end. Do we realize that by the very sound of our breathing heard to us, we pronounce and ask God for help to continue to live life through HIS LIFE that sustain us? When we gasp or pant heavily due to having difficulty breathing, as after strenuous activity or holding one's breath, we ask God "yahu" to sustain us to live for His GLORY!

We may or may not use these representative names of God, above all it is not wrong to use these names with reverence in one's heart for God Almighty, and when it is done in that proper way, God does understand and recognizes it
(Psa 147:11; Luke 1:50). When it is used against the devils, the same name will carry authority if it is done with the anointing of God which is God's heavenly power upon the one who speaks the name of God (Luke 4:18-19; 10:19; Acts 1:8). When the same representative name of God is used among people, the familiarity to use it comes along with the usage in the Scipture and the translation which most people use, which may also be through the spoken message of the person whom God uses to do his work (Acts 19:13, 17; Mark 9:38-41; Matt 12:27-28; Jonah 3:7-9; Dan 3:28; 6:26).

Today without an iota of doubt in our New Testament times, Jesus is the name above all names for us all
(Phil. 2:9-11). Praise the Lord!

Much Blessings....

Why Not Call Jesus As Yeshua?

Do We Really Need To Defend The Name Of JESUS Against The "Yeshua" Crowd?

Question: Do we really need to defend the name of Jesus against the "Yeshua" crowd? Do we need to be beware of the Christian Judaizers who try to convince us to obeserve the Sabbath and other Jewish feast days, keep Old Testament kosher laws? The Hebrew language today is a counterfeit made in 1882! We should call God Jehovah and not Yeshua according to the accurate KJV traditions, only this is right. If Jesus is present here, which Bible would Jesus use?

Answer: Greetings in Jesus name!

Let us not fight...it is all the same. But nobody should insist on exclusive name, because there is none but the name of Jesus the Christ which should be translated in other languages as per the mother tongues of each nations around the world.

We see in the New Testament day of Pentecost, all the people of different nations coming to hear the apostolic company praising God through the tongues they never knew before which was the language of the hearers from all nations, it was a sign from heaven to indicate from God that there can be no exclusive language for God but that He understands and considers all the language to be His creation for man to seek and find Him
(Acts 2:5-13; 17:26-27). We all have our respect for Hebrew because it is the oldest language know in the history of humankind. It is the language which Abraham the Father of faith was associated with and Shem's God was related to be (Gen 9:26; 14:13). Jews call God 'HaShem' which means "the Name" as in Leviticus 24:11. Exactly 'The Name' was revealed to the world through the man of God Moses who was shown in a vision of how God created the world and how it evolved from that time onwards (Exodus 17:14; 24:4; 34:27; Numbers 33:1–2; Deuteronomy 31:9–11). Both the Old Testament writers and the New Testament agree perfectly under the inspiration of the Spirit, that the first five books were written by Moses (Joshua 1:8; 8:31–32; 1 Kings 2:3; 2 Kings 14:6; 21:8; Ezra 6:18; Nehemiah 13:1; Daniel 9:11–13; Malachi 4:4; Matthew 19:8; John 5:45–47; 7:19; Acts 3:22; Romans 10:5; Mark 12:26). Were there no inspired word from God given to the people until the time of Moses? There were inspired directions given from God through vision and dreams, but a direct law from God to the nation of Israel came only through Moses and further the grace to fulfill the law came only through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior later to the whole world (John 1:17; Num 12:6).

What Language Did Adam And Eve Speak?

Traditional Jewish exegesis such as Midrash (Genesis Rabbah 38) says that Adam spoke the Hebrew language because the names he gives Eve – Isha (Book of
Genesis 2:23) and Chava (Genesis 3:20) – only make sense in Hebrew. The Jews always had a Law of God which is totally different from the laws of all others people in the world, which shows to us that Hebrew language did not just originate with Abraham but right from Adam through the faith community of people it continued to Abraham who was seperated and chosen among them because of his obedience to God and his Word (Esther 3:8; Gen 2:15-17; 3:8, 10, 11; 4:3-5, 7, 16, 25-26; 5:1; 6:8; 10:1; 12:1).

Thus, Abraham obeyed God's statutes (chuqqotay) as well as other written laws (mishmartiy, mitzotay, torotay). He left the wicked city of Ur to save his family
(Genesis 26:5, Hebrews 11:8-10). He unquestionably had written instructions to use in following the statutes of the Lord. So before Abraham, there always used to be a written account of the line of Adam (Gen 5:1).

We know that Adam and Eve were created as a perfect adult with a vast intelligence to read, write, speak and relate to one another in Love which is the absolute likeness of God
(Gen 1:26-27; 2:7, 22; 1 John 4:16). Adam could write as well as we can as adults, or perhaps even better could have had a photographic memory before the fall of humans in to sin which caused social, mental, emotional, spiritual and physical deterioration which increased more and more in humanity as time went forward (Gen 3:9-22)! He may have spoken Hebrew from the very first. He had to speak some language! And the accounts before and following Genesis 5:1 are all in Hebrew! Thus God's chosen ones from the beginning had His written instructions to follow that were not like those of any nation around them.

Yet, our GOD is a GLOBAL GOD and not a local god as pagan gods are. So we must see a GLOBAL GOSPEL and JESUS CHRIST within and not just a english speaking Jesus christ or just a Hebrew speaking Jewish Jesus Christ only
(John 4:22; Mat 15:24; 2 Cor 5:16; John 17:20; 10:16; Luke 24:47; Mark 16:15; Matt 28:18-20). I agree that KJV is very close to both the original Hebrew and Greek...still those 72 who translated cannot be called as inspired but rather commanded by King James to keep the Church of England to be united with him and under him.

When Did English Come In To Existence?

English is a West Germanic language that originated from Anglo-Frisian dialects brought to Britain in the mid 5th to 7th centuries AD by Anglo-Saxon settlers. With the end of Roman rule in 410 AD, Latin ceased to be a major influence on the Celtic languages spoken by the majority of the population. So English took over England and other united parts of it from that time onwards to stay and become a global language of the entire world till today in our times.

When English itself came in to existence from the above time, how come calling Jesus Christ in English can only be correct according to your own reason, when the prophets of the Old Testament and the apostles of the New Testament wrote the Scripture in different languages of their times like Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek?

The Old Testament was written in Biblical Hebrew, with some portions (notably in Daniel and Ezra) in Biblical Aramaic. Biblical Hebrew, sometimes called Classical Hebrew, is an archaic form of the Hebrew language. The very first translation of the Hebrew Bible was into Greek and that is the Biblical intimate connection between the two. The first known translation of this Hebrew Bible into Greek is called the Septuagint (LXX; 3rd–1st centuries BC). The LXX was written in Koine Greek. It contains the Hebrew Bible translated from Hebrew and Aramaic. The New Testament was written in Koine Greek which was commonly spoken by Jews of Jesus times
(John 12:20-22; 19:19-22; Acts 6:1).

What Language Did Jesus Really Speak?

Hebrew was used mostly by the scribes, teachers of the law, Pharisees, and Sadducees, the “religious elite.” Hebrew was likely spoken and read in the synagogues, so Jesus who grew in tutelage of the synogogue have learned to read the Scripture in Hebrew very well
(Luke 4:16-21). If Jesus was here today, he would be using the Hebrew Bible as the main reference Bible because that is the first Bible given to humans from God, and would also use other languages and translations according to the need of the situation. Why do I say that? When he spoke some of the important words on the Cross, it was not completely in Hebrew, but also in Aramic which shows that Jesus would use languages and translations according to the situation. Because Greek was the language of the Romans, who ruled over Israel during Jesus’ time, Greek was the language of the political class and anyone who wanted to do commerce with the Romans. Perhaps, Levi in Greek and the same name used as Matthew in Hebrew can give us an idea of how Jesus must have spoken and conversed with the tax collectors in Greek as well as Hebrew as he was comtemptuously identified by the Pharisees and Scribes as the friend of dishonest tax collectors who were considered as sinners in the eyes of the religious Jews because they were working for Romans against the Jewish nation by collecting tax (Matt 9:9-13; Mark 2:13-17; Luke 5:27-32). We also see the same scenario in the naming of Peter which is translation of the greek name 'Cephas' given by Jesus, as well as the name he previously had as Simon son of John which was in Hebrew. This shows that how much well versed Jesus must have been in Greek to name his disciples in Greek with a new name to symbolize what they will become in God's purpose and destiny that He has for them (John 1:42). Being able to speak Greek was a very useful skill as it was the universal language at that time, Jesus knew Greek through which he must have spoken before Pilate in his trial as there was no indication of a translator in between (Mk. 15:2-5; Mt. 27:11-14; Lk. 23:2-5; Jn. 18:29- 38; cf. 1 Tim. 6:13). Jesus may well have spoken Greek in Mark 7:25-30, when Jesus traveled to the area of Tyre where a woman with a daughter possessed by an evil spirit hears of his presence there and begs for Jesus’ help. The woman was called a gentile who is a Syrophoenician "Canaanite" women which shows that he must have conversed in the Greek to people like them as we hear of no translators in between them (Matthew 15:22). In other words, the description of the woman in the Gospel makes sure that the reader knows that the woman was a Greek-speaker despite her birth as a syrian canaanite as 'Phoenicia' was the name given to the region by the Greeks as they traded with them the most.

Jesus spent most of his time in the communities of Nazareth and Capernaum in Galilee, which were Aramaic-speaking villages. The Gospels support this view showing Jesus using various Aramaic terms: talitha koum
(Mark 5:41); ephphatha (Mark 7:34); eloi eloi lama sabachthani (Matthew 27:46; Mark 15:34); abba (Mark 14:36). Historians, scientists, and social anthropologists largely agree that Aramaic was the prevalent language in Israel during Jesus’ time. Aramaic was very similar to Hebrew, but with many terms and expressions that were acquired from other languages and cultures, notably Babylonian. It is most probable that Jesus knew the three common languages of the cultures around him during his life on Earth: Aramaic, Hebrew, and Greek. From this knowledge, it is likely that Jesus spoke in whichever of the three languages was most suitable to the people He was communicating with (John 19:19-22).

I think you are supporting a only KJV-King James Version cult group because I think you are in it.

Do you know that the first foundational apostles and apostle Paul who wrote nearly one third of the New Testament never knew English at all because it was not at all in existence at that time?

How must they have pronounced the name of Jesus? It must be in Aramic or in Hebrew or in Greek which had a major influence on the Jews of Jesus times.

Yeshua, What Does It Mean Really?

In Aramaic, the term, “Yeshu,” was transliterated from the Hebrew term of Yeshua, pronounced as “Yeh-shoo,” and missing the “a.”

Greek translations have “Yeshua” listed as Yesous, among first century Greeks, of which the name, Jesus, is derived. The involvement of the Council of Nicea, within the Roman Catholic Church, as well as influence of the English language into biblical text changed the use of “Yeshua” to describe the Savior into Jesus. “Yeshua” can be found most in the Hebrew Bible and other ancient texts that are still referenced among those in the Jewish faith.

The involvement of the Council of Nicea (modern Iznik, Turkey) the first council in the history of the Christian church that was intended to address the entire body of believers, within the Roman Catholic Church by the emperor Constantine on 325 A.D, as well as influence of the English language into biblical text changed the use of “Yeshua” to describe the Savior into Jesus. “Yeshua” can be found most in the Hebrew Bible and other ancient texts that are still referenced among those in the Jewish faith.

Although the term, “Yeshua,” cannot be found among Christian Bibles today, the hints at Yeshua can be found among mentions of Joshua, son of Nun, in
Deuteronomy 32:44 (Joshua leading the people of Israel out of Egypt with Moses), Nehemiah 8:17 (the gathering of the Feast of Tabernacles that was lasted performed in the times of Joshua), Acts 7:45 (the tabernacle in the wilderness brought to the Gentiles by Joshua), Hebrews 4:8 (Joshua speaking of another day ahead for God’s people), and in the books of First and Second Chronicles and Ezra. In the Hebrew text, Joshua is named “Yeshua bin-Nun” (Neh. 8:17) and “Yehoshua.” (1 Chron. 7:27; 2 Chron 31:15)

The name Jeshua appears 30 times in the Hebrew Bible and is found in the books of 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ezra and Nehemiah. The name Yeshua/Jeshua is the Aramaic/Latin form of the Hebrew name 'yehoshua', Strong's #3091, which means "Yah is salvation."
The Latinized form of Yehoshua is Joshua, and as previously mentioned, the Latinized form of Yeshua is Jeshua. In the Greek Septuagint, the 2000 year old Greek translation of the Tanach / Old Testament, both Yeshua and Yehoshua are transliterated as Iesous. As there is no "Y" in Greek, the letter "I" is used and as there is no "Sh" in Greek, the letter "S" is used instead. When the Greek New Testament was written, the Greek name Iesous was used for both Yeshua/Jeshua and Yehoshua/Joshua, but when the Greek Iesous was Latinized it became Jesus, which is the Latinized form of the Greek Iesous, which is the Greek form of the Aramaic Yeshua, which is the Aramaic form of the Hebrew Yehoshua.

Due to this confusion with this name, some translations of the New Testament may have Jesus, but another translation may have Joshua, such as can be seen in these two translations of
Acts 7:45.

Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles… (KJV)

Which also our fathers, in their turn, brought in with Joshua when they entered on the possession of the nations… (ASV)

It should be kept in mind that all of these names; Jeshua, Joshua, Jesus, Iesous, Yeshua and Yehoshua, are the very same name, all coming from the Hebrew name Yehoshua.

We can relate Jesus figuratively as Moses and Joshua of the Old Testament, a Savior who redeems his people from sin and makes them inherit the abundant life of Canaan in their spiritual life on earth which makes them to be rewarded with eternal life and glory of heaven in the days to come permanently, which both Moses and Joshua were not able to provide for the Israelites. So no matter how much people want to make the name "Yeshua" as a personal name to relate to the experience of their own salvation, it can only be a anti-type of the original name Jesus the Christ of the New Testament. Thus "Yeshua" can be a good typology for the Christians, but can never be claimed to be the true name of Jesus for us who read the English Bible, even though the pronounciation can be close to the original.

Should We Defend The Name of Jesus By Stopping People From Calling Him Yeshua?

So the bottom line regarding this great question, can only be decided spiritually. Have you ever seen a demon possesed person becomes afraid of the name of Jesus the Christ when it is spoken before it (Jam 2:19)? Do you know that all the demons and Satan himself recognizes the authority of the name of Jesus, no matter what language the name is called in (Mark 1:24-25; Matt 8:29)? I have seen it straight before my eyes in the life and ministry of my dad and also in the minsitry I have been doing in my own life. The seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, seeing the awesome demonstration of the power of God in the name of Jesus Christ by Paul the apostle, they thought that they could do the same to demonstrate the power of God by calling and commanding the demons to go out of possesed people "in the name of Jesus whom Paul preaches", but the demons did not find the anointing backing up their words as they were not born again children of God who have faith in their heart towards Jesus. The evil spirit within the possesed person said, "Jesus I know, Paul I know, but who are you?" (Acts 19:11-16), immediately the man in whom the evil spirit was there leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so they fled out of that house wounded and naked. Fear fell on them all and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

What can we learn from this above episode?

The lesson is a very very important one, that is, it doesn't matter with what semantic or language we call on the name of the Lord, but it is more important whether each of us have become a child of God or still remain the child of the devil without accepting the salvation that God has provided in Christ Jesus. When the devil hears the word, God or Jesus or Yeshua or the Lord or Jehovah through your mouth with the anointing that backs you up from above, he shudders to run away from you the moment he sees you. When a unsaved man, no matter with what sound or noise he tries to drive demons, they will over power him and bring shame on them. God is not much concerned with with what semantic or language or syllable we call on the name of the Lord, it is more important whether we call on Him with a clean heart, have the assurance of our sins forgiven by God and have the seal of the Holy Spirit which is the sign of a child of God by believing in the name of Jesus Christ (2 Tim 2:22).

If the Yeshua crowd is a born again crowd, they will experience the anointing of the Lord to support them when they use the name "Yeshua", but when they are not the child of God with a pure heart cleansed by the blood of Jesus, no matter whether they call or command in the name of Yeshua, or Jesus, or Yesu, or in any other language of the world, they will have no response from the devil which will overpower them for trying to lord over them without real authority over them (Luke 9:49-50; Mark 9:38-41). The same applies when trying to worship and serve the Lord (Psa 96:9; Col 3:17), except we serve with the beauty of His holiness, all our service for God remains in vain. O God help us all to be holy by your power and glory through inheriting your great salvation and walk in it for your glory!

Beware Of Judaizers!

Judaizers started in the first century to deceive the Church and the apostles stood against its deceit, in the same way there is a wind of judaizers who are raising up their head to insist upon the Church to obeserve the Sabbath and other Jewish feast days, and to keep the Old Testament kosher laws to please God inorder to validate the truth of salvation. These are the days of deception and falling away from faith (2 Thess 2:3), that is why in the Bible through Revelation 3:9, Jesus has clearly foretold, "Behold, I will cause those of the synagogue of Satan, who say that they are Jews, and are not, but lie--behold, I will make them to come and bow down at your feet, and to know that I have loved you." According to Jesus, the real Jews of the end time are not just those who are in the flesh, but also who in the spirit have been being born again by the Spirit of God through trusting the name of Jesus Christ by faith (Rom 2:28-29), therefore in these end of end times, we should look not to the world which will be deceived by the Jews in the flesh, but upon Jesus who will prove our love for Him through the Rapture which will help us escape the Tribulation that is coming upon the whole wide world (Rev 3:10; Luke 21:36).

Yes beware of the Judaizers who are false brethren of the end of end time who will come in by stealth to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus. If we foolishly allow them by believing their baloney, they will bring us in to bondage of the law which nether they, nor their forefathers were able to carry (Gal 2:3-4; Acts 15:10, 24; Matt 11:28-30). Now with God only a new creation matters to Him (2 Cor 5:17; Gal 5:6; 6:15).

Have God Revived Hebrew Language?

In Zephaniah 3:9 the Lord had predicted, “I will return unto you a pure language.” Has not the prophecy according to you come true? Yes I believe the Hebrew language has been revived already by the Lord when the nation of Israel regathered from all corners of the earth, but it will further be cleansed when the Messiah comes in His Second Coming to the earth after which it will become refined as a pure Hebrew language. Hallelujah!

May God help us discern His will and His way to walk pleasing to Him in the last of the last days to bring glory to our God through our short lives that we live on earth. May we serve our King of Kings and Lord of Lords with all our heart in holiness and truth.

Remember the Five Solas which brought the reformation to the forefront of our Christian faith because this is the base upon which our spiritual life can always stay strong and healthy, so stand by (i) Sola scriptura ("by Scripture alone"), (ii) Sola fide ("by faith alone"), (iii) Sola gratia ("by grace alone"), (iv) Solus Christus or Solo Christo ("Christ alone" or "through Christ alone") and finally (v) Soli Deo gloria ("glory to God alone").

Glory to God!

Much Blessings....
