Revelation 6
12: I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood.
13: And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind.
14: Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place.
15: And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains,
16: and said to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!
17: "For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?"
Initially after the mid-point of Daniel 70th week, when in Revelation 8:12, "Then the fourth angel sounded: And a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. A third of the day did not shine, and likewise the night", thus the sun, moon and stars were struck, only in a limited way, but when he sees lack of repentance in humanity in a massive scale...he proceeds further in the next successive woe's to the earth get so worse and unimaginable that, the "sun became black as sackcloth of hair", "moon became like blood", "stars of heaven fell to the earth".
We come to understand from the Old and New Testament passages, that the above description of "sun became black as sackcloth of hair", "moon became like blood", "stars of heaven fell to the earth" is the description that points to the end of the Great Tribulation and the display of the signs of the starting of Jesus Christ's Second Coming to the earth. Hallelujah!
Here is the further confirmation, "Matthew 24
29: "IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE TRIBULATION OF THOSE DAYS the SUN will be darkened, and the MOON will not give its light; the STARS will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
30: "THEN THE SIGN OF THE SON OF MAN (JESUS CHRIST) WILL APPEAR IN HEAVEN, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and THEY WILL SEE THE SON OF MAN COMING on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31: "And HE WILL SEND HIS ANGELS with a great sound of a trumpet, and THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER HIS ELECT from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."
THESE WILL BE THE ALL TIME MARTYRS AND THE TRIBULATION SAINTS WHO WERE MARTYRED BY ANTICHRIST WILL RISE UP TO RULE AS PRIESTS ON THIS EARTH (Rev 20:4-6)!
