REPORT: Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth floated the possibility of a third Jewish temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, according to a recently unearthed interview.

"There’s no reason why the miracle of the re-establishment of the temple on the Temple Mount is not possible," Hegseth said during a 2018 speech at the Arutz Sheva conference in Jerusalem, according to the Times of Israel.

Active preparations for a Third Temple in Jerusalem have intensified, driven by organizations like the Temple Institute, which has created over 60 sacred vessels, trained priests, and developed detailed architectural blueprints. Significant recent efforts include the importation of red heifers for purification rituals and ongoing archaeological excavations around the Temple Mount, which have revealed ancient,1st-century-era structures. 

Key Evidence and Recent Developments

Red Heifer Preparations: The Temple Institute and associated rabbis are focused on breeding and certifying a "red heifer" (parah adumah), required by Numbers 19 for purification rituals, though recent attempts to use a candidate in July 2025 were disqualified due to black hairs and at the same time ambiguous and secretive for security purpose as the ashes might be ready for putting forth the foundational corner stone.

Temple Vessels and Apparel: The Temple Institute has created functional, holy vessels—including the menorah, incense altar, and priestly garments—designed for use in a new temple.

Architectural Blueprints: Detailed, modern, and HALACHICALLY compliant, the blueprints for the Third Temple have been drafted and released.

Archaeological Excavations: Ongoing digs around the Temple Mount/Al-Aqsa compound, including the Western Wall tunnels, have exposed ancient structures, with some reporting the discovery of a large stone door from the First Temple period.

Increased Interest and Activism: Following the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel, there has been an increase in, or, a, in, the, and in the, and, in social media and public discourse surrounding the rebuilding, with some IDF soldiers using Third Temple imagery. 

Contextual Factors

Location Sensitivity: The proposed site is on the Temple Mount, currently home to the Dome of the Rock, making any physical construction highly contentious.

"Restrainer" Prophecy: Some Christian viewpoints link the physical preparation of the Temple to the end-times scenario.

Symbolism vs. Reality: While activists are preparing physically, many Israelis do not prioritize the immediate construction of the temple. 

Though initiatives are primarily driven by specific religious groups rather than the mainstream Israeli government they say, the Kenneset and the PM and the New World Order with its executive PEACE 🕊️ BOARD PRESIDENT OF THE WORLD (DJT) are involved in it. 

In this month or at max a year from now, THE THIRD TEMPLE 🕍 WILL BE STANDING ON THE PLACE OF THE GOLDEN DOME ALONG WITH AL-AQSA. WORSHIP through sacrifice of 🐐 lambs, calves , 🐂 Bulls like in the OLD TESTAMENT will happen (REV 11:1-2).
