Six Means of Divine Protection

6 Means of Divine Protection for a Believer

By Abraham Israel

(i) The word of God

The word of God is truth. Truth cancels the lie of superstition. It sets us free “You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free” (John 8:32). Jesus said I am the truth (John 14:6) and hence the more we come to know about Jesus as a person experientially, the more we will experience liberty in our daily life (John 8:36).

(ii) The blood of Jesus

The Blood of Jesus has cleansed us from all wrongs and sins of our past, present and future. We need to confess and agree with God for continuous cleansing to make ourselves immune from superstition, condemnation and fear (Rom 8:1; 1 John 3:20, 21; Heb 9:14). Walking in the light is nothing but walking in the revelation of what God has done for us through Jesus on the cross (1 John 1:5, 7, 9-2:1-2).

(iii) The authority of the Believer

Jesus has given to us His absolute authority to us and we should exercise it as a believer (Matt 28:18; Luke 10:18; Mark 16:16-18; James 4:7). As we submit to the authority of Jesus, we will receive more and more of His authority as He directs us, then as we resist the devil, he will surely flee from us [but not before that happens] (Eccl 8:4; Rev 1:5, 6;19:16;Matt 8:7-10).

(iv) The Prayer of the Believer

Constant Communication with God will not only position us under the shelter of His wings, but also will empower us to defeat all the enemies strategies through the power of God over us (2 Kings 6:8-12, 23; Ps 91:1, 9; Job 28:7, 8).

(v) The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth and hence will guide us in to all truth [all of the counsel of Jesus from heaven] concerning others, ourselves and our circumstances (John 14:17; 15:26; 16:13-14; Eph 5:17, 18; Acts 11:28). The Word of God kept by us in our heart will be used by the Spirit of God as a weapon against our enemy the Devil and it will defeat him again and again (Ps 119:11; Matt 4:4, 7, 10; Eph 6:17). Recognizing the presence of the Holy Spirit and acknowledging His power will be very important to keep the words of God to come through us continuously by the Holy Spirit's supernatural anointing (Matt 12:28; Mark 13:11).

(vi) The Gifts of the Spirit

The gifts of the Spirit are a mighty weapon to fight against the superstitions of the devil. When used rightly, will cause destruction to the evil insidious work of the devil and its allies. It will keep us informed and will keep us from people’s deceit (Matt 9:4; 12:25; Mark 12:15; Luke 5:22; John 1:42, 47; Heb 2:4; Acts 10:38; 1 Cor 12:7, 11; 2 Cor 13:14).

When you use all of these above in any given day, I bet you will make all the devils in the spirit realm to be crushed under you feet and you will put a smile on God's face (Rom 16:20; Heb 11:6)
